Did the arty module go broken on 1.05? I can't get it to work. Even the sample mission by headspace won't work. (http://dev-heaven.net/attachments/download/864/ArtyDemo_MLRS_SOM.zip)

Briefing and Decription File Help
Mad_Reizka replied to Door a jar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Holyhell, how is that thing supposed to work. Am I to use the briefing.sqf file in my mission somehow? I opened the file and there was big block of text there that just throw me to my back. Why does this have to be so hard? We went to the moon but making a briefing can be so goddamn hard? Edit: GLT Framework might be nice, the zip contains 2 million files. Makes me wonder, am I to make a mod folder out of these. Back in the day we had readme.txt file in zip files so people would know what to do with them :) GLT comes with 2 pdf files talking about some debug-messages I know nothing about. Goddamn... -
Briefing and Decription File Help
Mad_Reizka replied to Door a jar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
I have a bit of a problem with the Arma 2 briefing to. I need the tasks to be added in the fly, so they won't me all shown in the start of the mission. I can some how manage to get the tasks to be all there in the start with workin markers and all, but I want them to be updated as the mission evolves. And I want the markers to be shown for the tasks when the tasks comes available, not in the start. How the hell do I do that? As the guy who started this thread said, that mumbojumbo can be quite difficult to understand. (For me the HTML version was easy a pie) -
Well you know, we all paid for this game, you thought it would work... Anywho, about the getting stuck bug I mentioned before, I think it has something to do with group respawn not working correctly in editor.

I thought I post few "new" bugs I just discovered. 1) First one I found when I crash landed the russian fighter jet, I could not end the mission or do nothing. The game thought I was still alive even thou I was dead. The mission kept on running in the background. But regulary when you die, there is the menuscreen. But I could not exit the mission because the game locked all my controls. ESC didnt do anything. I had to Alt+F4 to get free of that. 2) Shadows are being cast really strangely in lakes. It's just some straight line in the shore... 3) I was stuck in the "receiving healing" -animation after corpsman healed me. I tried talking with him during the healing process which propably caused the lockup.

Ok, so I'm making a mission in the "next generation" Arma 2 ok? Or a cutscene to be more exact: And I place a CRRC (the little boat) in the Topolka Dam (a lake in the larger island) and make a waypoint for it so it would move in the lake. (Would look nice with some camera angles...) I hit preview and nothing happens. The moron AI just can't seem to understand simple Move waypoint. What is wrong? I tried using "this domove (position gamelogicname)" for better results but nothing seems to work. Let me quess. The lake isn't really water AI could use?

I was editing a mission today (got the game today too) and all the flaws I saw in OFP and Armed Assault, years back while making missions, just came pouring back. I would love to place units in other places than big empty fields, but it just seems that if there is even the smallest rock in the way; AI loses all pathfinding (or atleast it looks so stupid you'd think BIS would repair the AI by now!), all the will to listen to orders, starts to run/walk in circles, can't drive straight on a straight road etc. In my example, I had couple of guys hiding in a barn, and on cue, I wanted them to come rushing out with guns blaring. Well this didn't happen ofcourse, they just ran thru the walls and killed themselves because of the big fall. What a joke. What is the good with the waypoints if we can't precisely determine where we want these units to go?

I found a bug concerning the nightvision. I cant seem to toggle them on. I press N, nothing happens. I go to options to see the key for it, it is N, but there seems to be another key Stick Slide -1 there too. And if I remove it (stick slide) and go back to game, and press N, it appears again to the list.
-
Yeah, I have been enjoyin it too. Same thing was with OFP, it just got better and better after you installed few patches.

HELP!!! Can't play campain properly.
Mad_Reizka replied to blackt12's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Is there a solution to the threads original problem? I tried to revert, restart and abort the mission many times and still it wont work. -Edit- With enough rambling with abort, revert etc. I actually got it to work. It seems that you need to abort the mission just as the fade starts, and then resume from there. Another bug, the mission where you need to blow the bridge. It seems to be bugged since I cant seem to blow it up. I can mess up with the satchels in the river and all, got the message that objective is done, flashflashflash, pulled the trigger, and the bridge is still there. And sometimes it seems to remove all my satchels if I put them in a wrong place, but it still gives the message of completed objective. Wth. -
Looking great! What island is that? Some sandbagwalls and mg positions please ;)

We were playing Artaks Up Rising once again. Driver (MI_Fred) was driving like

I was have a new rule to OFP CP. No bigger pictures than 640x480. If you must show the whole image, resize it. I hate that when you post big images and they screw up the forum layout. And it looks more clear to me when the picture is smaller that original size (this means 1024 and over resolution) Good example is Major Fubars picture. Lots of empty space in the sides, and the AGS is in the middle. Some crop would do. Just like Vojtoo did, (did you) resize them. Much more nicer to look at 'em and not need to horizontal scroll to see the picture.

Wow!

Again, from MP session: We were playing Artak's mission The Uprising. In the UAZ there is MI_Fred (driver), Me (the yellowheaded guy on the front seat), Gollum1 (you can see littlebit of him, in the backseat) and Outtis (not visible). Again, with photoshop, added some blur to make it alive bit more.

Thanks, you have also some really nice pics at the later pages. I leave the CP to you and just take random pictures now and then.

Hello all. My first post ever on these forums. And, here's me pic. It was took today, at our MP session where we played Garcias Tropical Lightning. Did some editing with photoshop afterwards. Just thought that this would be cooler with some blur.
