What version of the game have you got? If it's a store DVD version or Steam then there is no limit. If you bought it from Sprocket or the German digital download (Metaboli) then you will need to email them after 3 installs to get more activations. -
Are you using the zoom feature? (Hold right mouse button by default) Helps spotting distant targets.

I'm short sighted too, but I just wear glasses when I need them, including for the TV where I sit a distance away from :confused: So I don't see how it's a disadvantage in a game. Remember grass doesn't conceal you over distance (beyond the pint it's rendered at). Apparently that will be coming in a patch but I don't know any details of that.

Personally I prefer being able to turn around quickly. In real life you can make movements that are not represented in games and it makes up for that.

Video was ok. At first it looked like a convoy ambush, but then it seems like they are on the run? A bit confusing. But gives a decent look at the game. I think the video is scripted/acted. Or maybe it's from a mission. Still some of those animations still look awkward, like they got something rammed up their butt.

Have you patched the game? I do not have those problems since 1.02. I only had them with earlier versions with surround sound. @Stun: None. That's why it's not shown in the game menu.

The value is suppose to be between 1 and 0. Think that might be the problem :p Even at a setting of 1 though, it isn't exactly a massive battle. -
All are taken into account AFAIK. Rating is added as you kill enemies, so if you are very good and killing loads of them they will perceive you as a greater threat. Having a higher rank also starts you off with a higher rating, which is why you can get away with killing more friendlies.

And this also makes the enemies prioritise you, as they perceive you as a bigger threat :D

I don't think you can adjust that. Best thing is to learn to ID your targets better. Maybe even turn on friendly tags in the difficulty options to help you. After a while of playing you learn to identify them better and friendly fire becomes rare :)

Any joystick should be fine. I'm also using the FF2 and it works great.

I guess that's because the game disabled some shaders when you did that. Anyway, looking at Suma's post I guess I wasn't completely correct.

Hold Left Shift and numpad minus. Then release and type "endmission" (without the quotes). I think he meant not shown visibly.

Does turning your graphics down give you a multiplayer advantage?

Only some crazy winning-obsessed PvP players would do that. The advantage isn't huge anyway. -

256 mb ATI X1300 Pro? Not a chance. A new card and it should run ok, but not at high settings. -

Might be better, but it will still run like crap. That's a pretty weak card. -

That makes no sense. The whole point of SM3 is to allow for more optimisation and better performance than SM2. SM2 would decrease performance. Based on what I've read, at least. Looking at the ArmA 1 files, they introduced SM3 in a patch and it came with a major performance improvement on SM3 cards. Previously ArmA1 only has SM2.

The fuel can explode. There is plenty of Youtube footage of similar explosions from burning cars. Seen it with my own eyes when a truck crashed too. -
Lights performance

I think the best way to test that is to just spawn hundreds of them right in front of you. I notice the carrier has a large number of lights on it, much larger than what ArmA could handle. -

One problem with sethit. How do you get the damage of that component? :( That kinda kills its potential. Still, there are some other ways the damage system can be improved ;) -

Doesn't the 4870 card have texture loading issues with the game due to lack of burst memory access or whatever it's called. Personally I'd never touch one of those SLX/Crossfire cards. Rather get a decent single card, less problems. Then again I could be mixing it up with another card. Is the 4870 one of those with dual GPU's on one card?
