How? I´m using steam for a few years now and i cannot think of any possibilities to lose games on steam other than: -you´re a magician  -you cheated the heck out of the games you played and got vac banned (several times) -you did´nt know that password isnt a secure password :o

Recommend playing vanilla until you get a feel for the game. (i.e. owner of several fiefs, mostly running around to find acceptable enemy) Once it get´s boring, mod it, but beware of overpowered item mods, they destroy everything. Two most recommendable mods imho: -Floris Expanded Mod <-- kinda like ACE for M&B -The last Days Mod <-- for your middleearth fix

Dear Mod Makers, Sign your Mods.. Its easy....
mr burns replied to lordprimate's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
During OP´s trial & error session to sign already released mods he might have run into the problem where already binarized files cannot be binarized again, hence binpbo throwing an error, and him thinking it had to be like this for everybody. Other than that, no. -
Not a fan of gunpowder mods in M&B apart from the 1860´s one where you can mess the whole wild west up. Literally only played 5 minutes of fire & sword because i sincerely could´nt stand the musketeers theme. Watching the L'Aigle video reminded me instantly of that "ewww" feeling, but then again their cities look breathtaking, might have to give it a try just for that :D

Want working weapon resting? use the AGM mod for Arma 3.
mr burns replied to jakeplissken's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Achieved by magic fairy dust! No. Each and every scalable or resting-enabled object in RO2 has to be flagged individually for those actions during map making. So you´ve got appr. 20 man hours per map to set and flesh out all those flags, to each window, trench, haystack and whatelse - Whereas BI is still joyfully sitting on their hands, not integrating a simple mod that the community has shown is possible to do in about what ... 1 week after A3´s first beta release? -
GSC Gameworld, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer, reopens for business. Working on new title.

Which faction do you prefer to play as
mr burns replied to fn_Quiksilver's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Don´t give a flying shit about my own faction, could be green smurfs, still no care. I prefer to play against factions where i know how to call their damn vehicles though (Russians, Americans, etc.). -
Don´t worry, that´s mostly BI´s fault. It´s not like they´d ever cared about proper manuals, tutorials, or even slightly useful training missions. I remember having read a leaked press pdf about ArmA2 (which i posted here and almost got sacked for it by placebo) where it mentioned a FCS key for tanks. Unheard of in the game up to that time, really something new and useful. Then the game was released, no word in the manual about said key. Nowhere! The functionality is still there, yet nobody knows about it. POS1 (or END?) iirc, if you´re wondering

That one time in bandcamp playing paintball i shot my big toe aswell ... with all the virtual safety instructions i´d gathered over the years, still fucked up :D
-
afaik the slow walk always had retained it´s shooting capabilities, no change since OFP at all. Whereas, OFP and Iron Front, you could shoot while charging the enmy, all over the place, but you could :D

Your favorite game of the new millenia
mr burns replied to negah's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
STRIFE popped up on Steam yesterday, im in a constant state of :butbut: since then. Those old games work some weird magic on me. I certainly will not be able to resist buying an(other) almost 20 years old title very very soon! edit: Only played City, blew me away!!! Full Ack on Batman titles! edit2: I also forgot one important thing: TOMB RAIDER Utterly fantastic game, brilliantly well done, it´s unfuckingbelievable! -

Your favorite game of the new millenia
mr burns replied to negah's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
OFP for (expected) longevity. Morrowind for surprising "how the fuck did i not play this 3 years earlier" factor. SoldiersHeroesOfWW2 for unsurpassed shits & giggles. Many other great titles out there (GTA4 comes to mind) but those 3 above stuck the most with me. -
BI Forums taught me things like doppelganger and mishmash being perfectly well accepted english terms, but verboten? :D Ontopic: As a german i´ve never fired anything other than bottle rockets, but i´ve completely taken apart and refitted M1911, cz75 & M9 in a f2p game called world of guns, and from these three only the M1911 did´nt suck major arse fiddling around with. M9 & CZ have so many tiny little parts and springs spread all over the damn gun, i started thinking they´d only built it that way to piss me off! Go M1911!

A vacation on Altis - or - To Limnos and back again.
mr burns replied to kostaatanasov's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I don´t believe you! :D Fantastic pictures and comparisons. Mindboggling way of presentation also with those few spread in ingame pics, asked myself quite a few time if it was real or not! -
Been like that since OFP - this series loves memory bandwith. Each single hertz you can get out of this setting increases the ammount of data your ram can shuffle around in one working step. Think of it as an (car talk) increased engine displacement, which of course equals more power. Using multiplicator does´nt affect memory bandwith, hence it won´t yield the same drastic improvements as overclocking dram directly. (take this with a pinch of salt, the last time i rly knew about stuff like that was 2003 :p)

Dedicated M&B thread, maybe? I´d like to share more opinions :o Some time ago me & two mates started a little jousting session and that alone was tremendous fun already http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/559885232648928193/8BE0B0DA77AD3F08A886CC3F412E6700FC267A11/ http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/559885232648929318/CF0ACF3041971B00C56C851C73D193BA5F8D741F/

M&B is equally great and dangerous, i remember buying a bundle on steam and only finding myself back to the internets 2 weeks or so later :D (has many GREAT mods aswell, check it out!) If M&B had a proper coop* we´d all be doomed! *there is a coop mod, but it restricts world travel to the host while anyone else does nothing, only works for battles afaik

My BI Forum games night senses are tingling - which is strange, they haven´t done that in ~9 years!
