I think anything they add to this game is just going to be a bonus over OFP1. They wouldn't negatively impact gameplay, only make it better - BIS are the people who know most about OFP and what made it so great. I think this title is going to be a very big release for the OFP community and anyhow, BIS deserve some more of my money considering the amount I have enjoyed OFP. If it were a pay by hour service - ouch that would be Å10000+

The physics need to be reworked for that status though imo. Although I have never tried flying the helo with a proper stick and rudder pedals. At least in OFP1 it was possible to fly with mouse and kb. TrackIR would be amazing in this game. Imagine being able to look out the side easily to see your troops doing a rope insertion. The latest trackIR Vector addon allows you more freedom of movement now too - " full 6DOF Positioning". Even for the soldiers it would be a worthy addition - you could look over your shoulder etc - or aim and shoot while not looking directly at the target.

I think people are concentrating on the graphics since OFP1 already had great playability (despite a few problems). I agree that the features to the game engine such as physics are more important really but when looking at screenshots - its kind of hard not to comment on the eye candy.

I think BIS are going to be preparing us some funky video soon - one that gives yet a few more clues about the features. I'm quite enjoying not knowing outright - we have to try to investigate from screenshots

Yeah good point I guess. But what about the slightly older images such as Image or would that be an image from the older campaigns?

A few palm trees doesn't really constitute a tropical region in my eyes. I mean you can plant a few palm trees anywhere. I think they are just around that building complex - look in the background, no other palm trees anywhere.

You know what I mean - allowing players to take a gunners position in the back and shoot! What about the fact you can see a hand or finger on the minigun? Well kind of Could be a button

hehe yeah I agree -same for me with the Merlin. Would be good to just get ammo replenished upon landing /driving the vehicle to base. I haven't RTFM yet but what do those value points mean?

Well if they are going to launch this year then it would be a bit late to still be working on the graphics engine. I expect it may be final testing phase or complete awaiting all the paperwork and publishing to finish

I can confirm the problem with the doors not working/ Also - might be an OFP thing but I get a blue dot saying you are here on the map but is completely inaccurate.

Yeah I used to get it working that way - real slow but just mentioning incase you didn't know of some problems with it. Also - I understand about the ECP thing just seeing if there was any chance of a merger

I thought the beta was pretty cool - the only trouble is for me is that there is no way I can play OFP without ECP - if only there were a way to make them compatible. I would like the best of both of them. tbh I didn't like the crosshairs either I am afraid but the vehicles etc were cool. <- just read you fixed the reticle. P.S. did you know of the main menu bug where the mouseover stopped working on the selections?

I'd like ArmA to use rudder pedals as well as nice joysticks. That way we can really fly those choppers. Actually my main wish with ArmA is to have a good flight physic system for the choppers and planes- I don't want to see the chopper automatically hugging the ground at a certain altitude without my interaction.

hehe silly me! I landed right in a bunch of militamen and they just ran straight past - the AI gunmen don't seem to know what to do against a helicopter unless they have rockets Anyway we can get gunmen to fire at helicopters?

Normal Mission - think it was destroy a terrorist base. Well done guys. Yeah I sometimes like to insert the squad myself as its fun to circle and get the gunner to take a load of people down- that way you can also do the fast insertion. Shame there aren't any attack choppers though - that would be good. Oh also - does the Merlin come with missiles or something because I sometimes hear a beeping sound and a rocket going from the chopper to the enemy - or is it chaffs and flares?! As the gunner you only get the machine gun.

No this was while out on a mission. I wanted to call an airstrike while flying the chopper but the radio wasn't there- then landed especially to do it and still couldn't contact HQ.

I checked the scripts, let me congratulate you for finding the first true bug Its true, once you fail a mission, you wont be assigned any more, meaning that failing one mission lets you fail the game That british military is quite harsh with what they expect from their soldiers, a 100% mission success rate. I will fix this as soon as possible and also add the ECP compatibility, thank you for reporting oooh! How exciting!! Â Also - after having a battle where some of my men get injured - going for reinforcements does not remove the red icons in the squad bit at the bottom. Another thing I noticed is that that even though I had all of my squad I wasn't able to contact HQ. Not sure why it was - have restarted now and I can now contact them. Thanks P.S. I am using ECP - didn't know it was incompatible - I sometimes get weird lines from script across the top.
