Yeah, I have the same problem. During many missions, I told my men to go on "STEALTH" and "HOLD FIRE". No luck, each time they engage without my order. Worst of all, they don't even obey when I tell them to stop or disengage. They are just berserks... Is it depending on skill ? I might do a test with increasing skills to see if it has an influence. I think you misunderstood me. I was talking about face textures. It should be possible to change one's face with a setface command in game: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">person setFace face Has anyone tried this ? Or I'm just plainly mistaken... Malick

Well I think its more a bug in ArmA than in the mod. Many an AI can just go through walls and obstacles. So much for collision detection. You'll have to wait for a patch to correct this bug. Malick

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm in favor of a "simple" script like spawning a unit with a zombie skin attached to it. Is it possible to change units' skin ingame, by the way ? Regarding the latest version, I saw that the zombies have a tendency to hang around much more. Is it because I used the OLDSCHOOL parameter ? Other than that, it keeps on getting better ! I hope every one could contribute to this addon with every little tweak and improvement we find ! Malick

This is excellent ! I really appreciate this function, very nice and it's great you found it... Malick

I think the zombies' name is : <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">NeM_Zombie_n where n=1..4 Malick

I may try that... But with a bit of dynamic touch, if you see what I mean Malick [EDIT] Wow : I just tried that... In fact, it IS horrible. I created a mission where I had to patrol an area with a 4 men squad. I spotted a group of zombies on a hill, so I called in artillery support to eliminate them. But nothing could stop them. Soon, we were into close combat, because another group of zombies had flanked us. Two of my men had been infected, and it took me by surprise ! I've been eaten alive ! Damn, I love this game and I love this addon ! Thank you BIS and ZMoD ! And thanks Charonos for the update : sounds and scripts are just great...

Great ! Regarding the zombies toughness. You say 'shoot them inthe head'. Alas, with 1.05 there is no more head shot, remember... So zombies are a real pain to kill. I think that the upcoming 1.06 it will be ok though. There's no need in my opinion for an update of the zombies on that point. I'll test it right now Malick

lol Now it's true that the 'improved' vehicle behaviour and beautiful scenery makes for a great trip across the island. I just have to convince my girlfriend that we can visit Paraiso for the next vacations Malick

I had some problems with sound too. I de-activated EAX and hardware acceleration and added the option -openal to my arma.exe shortcut. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"D:\Program Files\ArmedAssault\arma.exe" -openal -nosplash -maxmem=1024 -mod=@Divers;@FDF_Sounds It works fine now ! Hey, that's good news ! Since you're editing them right now, can you make the zombies a tad bit less unstoppable ? Waiting for your update : I even watched Romero's "Night of the living dead" recently. I'm in a zombie fashion mood ! Malick : braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain

Hi GranQ! Very nice job. - I really don't like the engine sounds. + On the other hand, I just love the scripted NVG, how did you manage to get this ? Overall, it's excellent. Malick

Very nice video Falken ! The parts where the camera shakes as if it was part of the action are just great. It sometimes feel like real footage. With some video editing, it can really become something great and even make some believe it is real... Great job ! Malick

OK, no problem, I got the addon ^^ And i'll try to join ! Hope I'll meet some of you Malick

Hey, I've just realized you were right ! Thanks for pointing me that : I'll have another campaign to test. By the way, I tried the Fedain campaign. In fact, I got killed during the first mission. First, by the airstrike. Next, by an Abrams... I suck ! Malick

No, I'm using the current version of the script. I just didn't have the correct syntax. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"SquadLeaderE" createunit [_sp,_tg,"nul=[this,mark,""RANDOMDN"",""NOWAIT""] execVM ""ups-f.sqf"""] That's the syntax I use. The script works nice. But, sometime, I still have a lone soldier. I'll try to spawn them all at once and tell you if it works. Malick

Ah, too bad i haven't seen this before ! When is the next try, mate ? I'm dying to kill undeads Malick

Hi Kronzky, I have a little question : When using your script for groups spawned in game (not in the editor), it sometimes happen that some units spawn separated from their leader. This happens when I create a group, call ups.sqf for the leader with the "RANDOMDN" command line. It seems that a part of the group spawns at a random point while the rest spawns at the indicated spawn point. In my spawn script, there is a ~0.05 delay between each unit. It's not really annoying, but is there a way to prevent this ? Maybe if I spawn all the units simultaneously ? Thanks a lot ! Malick

Hi all ! This is an excellent sound replacement pack. Weapons sound really better, thank you ! I've found something strange : some armored vehicles (Abrams and T72 mainly) have very faint sounds, hardly audible. Otherwise, great work ! Malick

A interesting, a first user made campaign ! Do you have any more info : number of missions, type of missions ? Definitely going to give it a try... Thanks ! Malick

The big problem with ArmA currently is : the community. There are countless threads with trolls and rants for/against ArmA and its patches. I've never seen so much of these, and I've been stalking these forums from day 1 of OFP. If you're not satisfied with ArmA, you can either put it aside and not play it, or improve upon it because you are given a wonderful tool. Come on, ladies and gentleman, behave ! Or grow up a little. ArmA and its latest patch have an arm long list of bugs. Not everything works fine. I have to reduce every graphic option in order to play with decent FPS. And guess what ? I live with it ! This place and the whole community will get a lot better once the bunch of trolls that joined the forum during the last month are tired of their own behaviour. Good night, and good luck Malick

I have no particular issue with TroopMon and 1.05 for now. At least, not the one you describe. I had a couple of crashes in the editor (checking the state of a chopper and then computer freezes), but I think they are related with new 1.05 bugs with memory and hardware issues. Keep up ! Your tool proves to be really useful for me, thanks. Malick
-
Thanks for the update ! I'm gonna test it right now... ah, I hope patch 1.05 won't waste it ! Malick
-
Ah, I understand now why killing zombies got suddenly so hard... I didn't know why after applying patch 1.05, all my zombie missions became real hard ! With some improved AI (or is it ?), the zombies even flank my squad in the mist. Something really frightening with the new NVG effects. Damn I love this game ! And I love Zombies ! By the way : Any news on an update ? OK, it'll be ready when it will... Malick
