Hi ! I have just tested this island: it's quite nice and runs fine. Did some quick battles with armor, helicopter and infantry. The rolling hills make for very good tactics ! Otherwise, the main ground texture is too redish, in my opinion, they may need to be a bit toned down (blend). The soldiers look too weird, as if they had been drawn on another colour palette. Keep up the good work ! Malick

This may sound as a stupid question, but : How does this addon influence the player tank vs AI tank combat ? Or even, AI vs AI ? Otherwise, it sounds like a very good improvement for human controlled tanks! I hope we'll get new tools like these, just like the real tankers do Gimme thermal sight ! (I know it's not currently possible, though) Malick

Wow great news ! I really loved DAC1 for OFP ! It was a very useful tool to create great missions without too much scripting. I was currently trying to implement DAC elements in an ArmA dynamic mission, but now I'll wait for the true DAC2 ! Thanks silola and MAPFACT ! Malick

Interesting, but is that with this set of scripts or native ArmA AI ? I'd like to see the AI run for cover when shot at and use natural cover, instead of just dropping to the ground. Malick

Agreed... We could package an addon to improve the AI with the following: - suppression - dynamic voices and taunts - equipment - engagement range What else ? With the extended event handler addon, they would all work like a charm together and improve dramatically the immersion and gameplay quality. Malick

Törni has been silent for quite a while now, in all his threads. If he reads these lines, maybe he'll give an answer sooner or later. That's really a pity, because I was looking forward to his addons, like an updated M60 and a good old T55. Don't stop your reskinning, Red Devil ! It looks good so far. Do you plan on adding normal maps, too ? Or maybe they are already there and I didn't notice It would be great if Törni could authorize anyone to modify and improve on his addons. Malick

Sounds like a wrong pathname in the init of the script. You have to create a game logic called "server", in which init line you initialize kronzky's UPS (don't have the code here). I had the same problem, it's just that I didn't update the init line with the correct path. Check all paths ! Malick

That's a very good initiative, in my opinion. I had the script working as a standalone addon and it gets buggy when there are too many mods or too many spawned units. Do you think using Solus extended event handlers may solve this ? I'll give it a try ! Thanks for sharing Malick

It's good some have the faith to try and create an island from scratch. As I have lamely tried for OFP, back in the days, and never released anything, may I advise you to : - use existing terrain features, pictures or anything, so that you can have material to base your work on; - make one zone after another, create a small town, then the surrounding features, then move on to another area; - start by making a small island, not a 1600km² giant, otherwise you will lose motivation quite quickly and never finish the basic road system, especially if you are alone on this project I hope you can progress with your project ! I really like these sounds, as they fit my likings much better than FDF. As for their realism, I truly can't say, as I've never been on an actual battlefield. Let's hope Chammy will keep working on it and improving all sounds of the game. I'd really like to hear loud choppers, various engine sounds and more random sounds all around. This mod improves the immersion factor so much, for me, I can't play without it. Keep us informed on the improvements underway and the fate of the mod in itself. Thanks Chammy for your time Malick

Hi all, I really appreciate the new UI, in game UI and loading screens. However, QG adds its own splash/loading screens and I don't like them. Is there a way to disable them or replace with a TrueMod screen ? Malick

Good news ! I love the BTR80 as it seems to fit better in Sahrani than the BMP, in my opinion. Regarding textures, I'd like to see two version : green and camouflaged. Do you think it is possible or too much work to do ? Otherwise, it's a great initiative. I hope GranQ will give you permission to release. Malick

Very interesting tool, indeed. It sounds great just to have a picture of real terrain and import it "easily" in ArmA. I guess some rework of main island features is still needed, like object placement for example, but the time gained from such a tool makes it a must. Malick
