    Ak-74

That's the old sound, "filler sounds" used during development that will be scrapped before release. Bohemia Interactive has confirmed that all sounds will be different in the released version, and that no sounds will be used from the previous games.

    ArmA II: The Vehicles

Nope, the Knighthawk is purely a U.S. Navy helicopter. The U.S. Marines don't operate Knighthawks, but they do ride in them, as the U.S. Marine Corps is part of the U.S. Navy.
  3. The developer's blog update is from the official Bohemia Interactive website and the release date is from the official publisher's website. It didn't take much looking around to find it. It was front page news at Armaholic and ArmA Info.

    Deadfast's Translations

That's a provincial capital. It's not the national capitol.

    AAN - ArmA Naval Units

Great job, Gnat! :) The interior of submarines highly resemble the P.C. game, "Dangerous Waters." Did you use textures from that game?

    Vehicles done whats next?

I hope so. I have a feeling that the release date is near too.
  8. Hopefully not. Then again, the view settings bar in ArmA 1 is not very proportionate. Move it a little on the left side, and it only moves a few hundred feet. Move it a little on the right side, and it moves several thousand feet.

MH-60S is not a US Army Helicopter

The helicopter in the screenshot has U.S. Navy markings on it, so I'm pretty sure that the Army reference is a typo of some sort. The Navy also uses Seahawks. Also, did anyone else see that the Team Razor "Corpsman" is a Staff Sergeant? Funny, because Corpsmen are U.S. Navy Sailors, and not U.S. Marines. Oh, and can anyone tell me what markings are on the helicopter in the screenshot? I think I can see the words: "Khe Sanh," but it's too blurry for me to make out. They do? I thought only the U.S. Air Force operated Pavehawks. The U.S. Marines also use Hueys, Sea Knights, and Ospreys.
  10. It's more like calling you French when you're from Berlin. Yes, hopefully they'll fix that. Japanese and Chinese are nationalities, not races. But the argument is similar.
  11. Yes, it really does "mater." Well said, Raphier.
  12. I believe a "Cropsman" is a farmer of some kind. :D Maybe a fArmA 2 reference, perhaps? Anyways, a Corpsman is a Corpsman, and a Medic is a Medic. End of story. :)

    Hookers in ArmA II?!

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. :D I can see it now, "3, go to that condom at 12 o'clock!"
  14. I think that the terms, "Corpsman" or "Corpsmen" should be used in ArmA 2 as it is most factually accurate term to be used in this situation, regarding the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy. I don't believe that it should be changed to "medic" just because some people do not know the term. For example, it wouldn't make much sense if a BMP-1 was referred to as a main battle tank because some people do not know what an infantry fighting vehicle is.

    Hookers in ArmA II?!

You made my day. :D Thanks!
  16. Never mind the fact that even if it was a two engine plane, he would say "port/starboard" instead of "left/right." You're kidding, right? :icon_rolleyes:
  17. I'm pretty sure all the grenades, explosives and mines that were included in previous games will very likely be in ArmA 2, but I'm not BIS so I don't know for sure.
  18. I don't know if BIS will do go that far, but I saw some U.S. Navy flight deck crew in a video. In the video, the crewmemember was wearing red, which is ordnance crew. Well in BF2, the Corpsman/Medic blunder was a huge factual error. Regarding Crysis, there was a scene in the original Crysis game in which a U.S. Marine was talking to a Corpsman. However, it was only one instance and in the rest of the game they were called medics.
  19. In OFP 1 and ArmA 1, the rank system was the same for both sides. The rank structure was as follows, Private Corporal Sergeant Lieutenant Major Colonel Hopefully, there are more ranks and ranks from different branches, like the Navy and Air Force, for example. Hopefully, there are U.S. Navy Corpsmen instead of mdics. In BF2, Crysis, and many other games that feature the U.S. Marines, there are medics instead of Corpsmen which is a huge factual error. Basically, the U.S. Marines can do little without the U.S. Navy. The Marines and Navy work heavily together in real life, as the Marines are part of the Navy. Hopefully BIS realizes this and it is somehow implemented in ArmA 2. I believe that Navy Corpsmen will be included because in ArmA 2 because like Jakerod said, the ArmA 2 Press Kit mentioned U.S. Navy Corpsmen, which is a huge plus. :)
