New seb huey - spec op version
Ludovico Technique replied to SelectThis's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The Nam pack is the best thing going, I just wish I knew how to set it up so the VC and NVA fired rifles at the helicopters. I saw a patch to do it but I didn't pick it up and now I can't find it. -
The Ludovico Technique is the method used in A Clockwork Orange to condition the main character into becoming a good citizen with psychotropic drugs and mental torture.

Don't get me wrong, I think our lads do very well and I have the utmost respect for the British military, however there's a reason the US Army calls our soldiers 'The Flintstones'. That said it costs about a tenth of what the US pays for its military and kicks plenty of butt, so you won't see me complain. To do the British Army properly the following things would need to be added: 1. Special Forces that don't seem to ever die or miss, and then write books about it. 2. Rifles with clips that fall out when they are slung. 3. Authentic British voices with Newcastle accents, apart from the officers who would be toffs. 4. Bagpipes. I've seen a few SA-80 mods out there, but none of them really felt right to me, probably because nobody seems to have done the sight properly yet.

The British army should have a mod simply because they get into just as many shortsighted imperialist clusterf*cks as the US Army, in fact they usually get into the same ones. The British army would also be better to play as it has a wider variety of equipment, most of which is pretty lousy, making for more challenging gameplay.

Who would like to see a futuristic type mod?

If you're trying to make it realistic then mechs of any description are not happening. There are two reasons for this, firstly a tank distributes weight over a large area, a mech with feet creates many times more pressure on the ground where it steps meaning it would not be viable over any surface except for maybe concrete. Secondly the trend with military kit is to keep the profile low. Something standing up on two legs is an easier target that a low, flat tank. On top of this there are issues with recoil, maintenance and other practicalities. Put simply they'd suck. I think mod teams would find more people interested in mods based on current military tech. Nobody has made a dent in the massive number of currently available military vehicles for the NATO or Eastern armies. A mod that could provide a full range of, for example, British, Chinese or Colombian units and vehicles in a variety of colour schemes would be a must have. -
Howdy, don't suppose anybody could post me a quick link to download the jungle islands? The editing centre and the Czech place where I normally get my stuff from are not working for me at the moment and having just patched the 'Nam mod for Resistance I'm itching to start popping holes in all those shiny new US army models.

So I've been downloading addons like a crazy monkey, I've been practically peeing in my pants waiting for the O2 created addons, and so far it's almost all planes. Are there any O2 modelled vehicles out there? I've got the ADATS so far and that's about it.

O2 addons that are not aircraft

I get the muzzle flash bug with the Marines, and the FAV crashes the game. -
Would it be possible to use the turn in/turn out function to make the turret move into the 'safe' position at the back for transport. Otherwise this looks outstanding, now all we need is a deck of cards.

It's not easiest problem to take a screen shot of as it is literally a flicker. The textures for trees, patches of ground and units simply turn white for an instant. It happened at first when I installed my Geforce4 with the original Flashpoint, but I fixed it by downgrading the visual options. I tried the same thing with Resistance, but the same problem occurs even when playing the original missions with the absolute lowest possible video settings.

I get this problem on a Geforce4 Ti4400. I am also running Windows ME, which I believe may be the problem because it's crappy.

France have got Barthez in goal so they'll be lucky to get out of the groups. If England have Beckham the Argies and Swedes will lose. Have watched Veron, apparently one of Argentina's best, all season, and he aspires to mediocrity at Manchester United. Beckham will be the difference for England and if Owen and Gerrard are playing well that gives England enough to be in win a shout. France are also missing Pires. Spain should never be written off, though somehow they always manage to be poor, and Italy have been crap for ages, just look at their poor showing in the champions league for the last two years.

Has anybody done any mods for the Falklands war? It strikes me as the campaign to liberate the Falkland Islands would translate well to the Flashpoint game. Lots of large scale infantry engagements, close range air combat and not too many tanks scooting around and getting in everyone's face.
