Well I actually have the same problem as original op, what bothers me about your solution is that I have no idea what it does and I do wan't to know what I'm doing to my install. You just jump straight into the instruction on how but I wan't to know why and what effect it has on my install. Ok my situation for example. I bought Arma 2 through steam, later on I also bought OA also through steam. Now I can run Combined arms by using a _runA"CO.cmd that comes with the game. But no other AddOns. On your site you say: STEAM users; latest version of batch is now part of STEAM release , please re-validate cache Spoiler: so replace _runA2CO.cmd manually (attached in .zip to end of this post) file is located e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead\_runA2CO.cmd Why is the other info in spoiler tags. is it not valid anymore? If it's still valid you mean I'm supposed to overwrite the _runA2Co.cmd with yours. What does that do, what effects will it have. Where then am I supposed to put my mods? Will it create a new folder somewhere? I'm thankful for your help but I just don't understand how this is supposed to work.

Is that story the official events? I remember in Harvest Red the talk about Chernarus having around 80% Chernarussians and 20% ethnic Russians so that other guy coming close to winning the elctions doesn't sound plausable. I might be confused though.

Just bought Arma 2, and am currently playing through the scenarios/campaign and adding mods and such. I'm interested in a Co-op squad ( Also ok with the occasional PvP ) that plays cool scenarios regularly ( like a weekly session ) and maybe some lighter stuff other evenings. I am most interested in playing infantry but I would like that we wouldn't be stuck in the same roles all the time ( getting the chance to take vehicle or sniper role from time to time ). I am new so I'm not neccesarily good at this game but I'm a team player and willing to learn. I also aim to learn how to create missions later on if the squad would be interested. I'm Icelandic, speak english ( fluently, but with a little accent ) and use GMT/UTC without daylight savings time ( so 1 hour difference during summer ). Ps. I have read most of Dyslexci's ( not sure about the dyslexic spelling of his name ) guide and used to play the flight sim IL-2 Sturmovik as part of a squad.

Ok the official 1.05 patch on the Arma2 site. I wanted to use it to get my Steam 1.04 version up to 1.05 but the directions there are very cryptic. It says : Ok it's update 1.05 but in the text it says 1.00 to 1.04, what does that mean?? That it will work for all this version or that it will update to that version?? I wan't to know if this works for my Steam 1.04 version.

Then it's pretty much the question of money, should I wait a month hoping to get both cheaper then if I buy ARMA 2 now and OA later. Well that's my problem thanks for the fast answer.

I'm very interested in buying Arma 2 however I'm not sure if I should go for it now or wait for OA. I guess you will need both for most squads that co-op online. But even if I need both I'm hoping there might be a bundle with both games. What should I do buy now or wait for OA. If it depends on how I will use it I wan't to mostly play co-op games online with a dedicated squad. I used to play the flight simulator IL-2 Sturmovik with a good squad and that was great fun and now hoping to get the same feeling with this game. I'm also interested in making missions but I guess I would have to get a feeling for the game first so I can make good balanced oppositions. When I've made up my mind I will try to find a good squad while I learn the game though I have my eyes on some UTC timezone groups.

So I could have different startup shortcuts to startup different sets of mods easily right, sounds good. But isn't there a program wich could manage this all, remember someone mentioning this.

I wasn't really sure if I should post it here or in the mods folder but decided here as it doesn't discuss mods in particular. Just recently got this game and intend to start playing it online when I get my new computer. However all these mods that are available scare me a little as I don't really know how to handle them all. I might wan't to run one mod this time and then again run it clean next time. Do the mods overwrite original files? When I join a squad they might require specific mods and another public server needs others. Is it all easy to handle and jump between them? Also is there a list somewhere of mods, what they do and if they work with each other?

Sorry Bratty this post wasn't supposed to be some kind of bragging post. I know this computer is powerful, I just wanted to be sure Arma could use both GPU's and Vista could run it. Also if people might say something like "that cpu is junk get this one isntead". I actually haven't got my hands on this computer yet and I bet you it costs more here then it would in UK or most other places so I myself would love to have the same money to buy a computer there for I would get so much more. The good price I'm getting here would probably make you scream at it's high price but that's just due to our ridicilously high taxes.

So would only one of the GPU cards work on Arma or won't it work all together? Is this problem with DX 10 cards universal or is just sometimes this happens and sometimes not? I could remove 1 GB to make vista work, I can't really get Xp here since vista came out.

Ok I'm really interested in Arma, love all tactical & simulator type games. However my computer isn't up for the job. So a new computer was offered to me at a good price. As my knowledge of computers isn't great there are somethings I'm not certain about. Supposedly there is a problem with Vista and 4gb right? What about SLI connected nvidia GPU's? Computer specs Mobo: Inno3D SL7i680a CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600 GPU: 2 x Inno3d GeForce 8800GT 512MB (SLI) RAM: 4GB GeIL DDR2-800 CL5 Notice the 2 GPU's and 4 gb of ram. I will be playing more games then just ARMA. Flight simulator for example, perhaps IL-2 sturmovik and SoW: Battle of britain if that ever comes out. And as a new player what squads should I check out, some that play co-op realistic and are around GMT english speaking.
