Mission COMPLETLY failing to work...

But even when I am in that seat, all by myself, even with no 2, 3, or 4 players, it still works effectively. The minute I am not the squad leader, the triggers stop working appropriately. When I run it as a dedicated server, the same issue arrizes... the helicopter doesn't land and even if the players eject out of the helicopter it doesn't move onward. -
So I am making a mission where a scripted event forces all of my units to eject out. When running it with AI, the mission runs fine... However, the minute I throw in people, there are bugs like they will eject but take damage from hiting something, or they dont eject at all. Is there a way to stabalize the missions I make for online at all? Is there some trick to make them work right? Or better at least..

empty parachutes from non-existant units?

I have this issue as well, even occured in the original arma, never got an answer for it.. Even if its not random variables, AI parachutes spam out like non other. -
Id start smoking just so I could use my ArmA 2 zippo lighter.. I collect zippos although I dont use them. Id make a reason to use that one...

I think everyone forgets the main reason why people don't play PVP alot.. A LARGE majority of the community plays coop. This is what made the game appealing was the open world. To me coop missions are funner than PVP. Especially since so many franchises did the PVP pretty well before hand, but Coop is hard to come by. Not saying PVP doesn't belong here, but I just think there are better platforms for PVP, where as ArmA 2 is the best coop platform around.

I love how you guys complain about the realism of one of the only simulation games on a sandbox level made by a team of roughtly 20 some people in a two year period. You expect freaking miracles. If you wanted this game to be 100% realistic you would be looking at another 2-4 years at least. This is a SMALL dev team making a game based off of an engine used by the military. Be realistic. Look at AA3. Same amount of development time, on a PRE BUILT engine, bigger dev team, and the game is hardly more realistic and just as buggy. And it s a freaking shoebox shooter. Be realistic people. I would also like to point out other sim games like Flight Sim X, Lo-Mac, Black Shark, etc. Even THOSE dont give you 100% realism. They give you ALOT of realism on a FEW things but thats it. The closest thing to a 100% simulation was falcon 4.0 and that game was almost not fun because of how realistic it was. You guys really need to think about the time and effort it takes this small team to make what you have. Appreciate it or please leave so those of us who are GREATFUL of what the dev team did to get this game out can play in peace with out seeing your cry baby posts and rants in game.

But his original point is simple and has been pointed out by Valvue and many other PC/360 developers. For one, PC is easy and cheap to make games for. You dont need a special dev kit you had to pay for. On the other hand, the 360 and PS3 both have to have dev kits to have games made for them.... for the most part. The PS3 has an INSANELY expensive dev kit, which again makes it harder for a small company to make games for. The PS3 is INSANELY difficult to develope for. Read vavles recent comment. They had to hire a company with actual knowledge and the dev kit to do it. You need a special team of people who know how to program for the PS3. People who SPECIFICALLY know how to. Where as the 360, anyone with PC programing knowledge can program for the 360. On that note, because the 360 is so much like a standard windows machine, its easy to take a PC game and port it right over with no fuss, where as the PS3 is a pain in the ass to develope and port over too. In the long run BIS is a small company, I dont know the numbers but something like 30 people? You really think a company that small is going to be the estimate price of $10,250 dollars when odds are, they will HARDLY break a profit on that when you also consider the amount of time it would take to cross platform it, hire a group of people to develope for it, and remake it to work on a lower end console? Lets not also forget that the PS3 has the TINIEST fanbase of all of the consoles, a TINY fanbase based on the statistics. And look at the software sales of the games. Even if BIS did release it, the PS3 would hardly sell enough copies for them to profit off of... In the long run, at this time, its best for them to develop for the two platforms that are dirt cheap and easy to program for. If they were a EA style studio with over 200 members, it would be ok, but seeing that they PS3 is a burden to program for and non of the members of their team have a background in programing for it, its illogical to say the least.

My only real biff with the damage in this game is windows... I wish they would add some form of balistic protection to the windows to withstand a shot or two before breaking and killing people.. Picture of one shot.

With most of your questions I suspect you never drove a hmmve before First off, the tires are not bullet proof, they are bullet resistant. They are also flat resistant. here is a picture of a hummve tire. However, in game, you will notice the tire isnt flat when you shoot it, bust pretty much it is destroyed. Also, the hmmve is bullet resistant yes... but bullet resistant isnt that effective to be honest. It means it can take 1-3 bullets, which is hard to simulate on the ArmA 2 engine im guessing because 1 bullete does indeed go through and kill people way too easy. As for the troop carrier varient, the hmmve is not a "troop carrier" persay, it holds roughly 4-5 troops just like in game. You need to remember a soldier also needs to carry his gear as well...

When you host a multi player server and it asks you to choose your map, a wizard option is there to create different styles of missions instantly. The one that is coop based is typically called seize the area. Thats the most coop friendly one if you want to work with friends rather than against them. Butalso as beagle said. if you add in the second objective module with the combat eviorment module, its a coop mission that never ends. All you would need to do is create your units and create a spawn point and your good to go. But the wizard is there as an easy click it and go mission also.

I recently recruited a new member into my squad.. We picked him as part of our Americas Army 3 division but after hearing me and a couple of other members play ArmA 2 for a while he decided to buy it to get in on the action. Well, while playing domination he kept dying every 5 seconds after being in the enemy territory. He was either shot by a tanks commander gun, or he was shot by an enemy sniper. He said the AI was way too good and could see a mile away and was too powerful and blah blah blah. On the other hand I am running around with M4A1 SD and crawling around in town, shooting the AI while crawling up to the radio tower, destroying it, grabing an RPG and taking out a nearby tank while one of my other clan members built an MG nest and was using that while our sniper also used that cover as a place to snipe from. Difference? He was running around, standing, and kneeling. He was trying attention to himself by not taking cover and using no form of concealment. Its not that the AI was too smart, he was just playing too dumb. Anyone whos been in the military in an actual war zone will tell you, the last thing you do is fire with out cover... Hell, Anyone with COMMON SENSE knows that... -
Because in real life you cannot target infantry for the most part. Your co-pilot is suppose to vistually identify them and then engage. And in real life for the most part its nearly impossible to identify a person aside from friendly, since friendly wear IFF packs on them that illuminate them better on the FLIR screen. Technically if you have them centered on your screen and you right click on them however, you can lock on. But you cannot use tab to lock onto them. Use the same right click method. Again the helicopter is not meant to really be a solo craft. And the AI is not always the best companion. I also recommend you lower the AI skill level when you place them, or turn down the difficulty level if you are doing a campaign mission. Also, fly lower, don't fly so high above ground, thats how they spot you and shoot at you so easilly.

Actually the time of day is one of the map options for the mode (domination) for the server to select. But thanks for the help. EDIT: So... I used the PBO extracter the extract the map... but it shows no files in it... so... how do I find the init file to get this info..

You just haven't found the right combination of working together. I have been in evolution servers where everyone is helping take a town and talking and such, but thats more of fighting together rather than working together. My clan works more of a role and team style in it. For example, I am typically the UH-60 pilot with MGs, I will play as the taxi service for my clan. After I drop them I will play safe range eye in the sky and air cover. Working together is different than working as a team.. -
Why are burning vehicles blowing up over and over?

Took out all of the ammo and took out all of the fuel... It still does it.... if it has no fuel and no ammo it shouldnt be blowing up still -

It would actually cost you MORE if you bought the 505 version. Remember, the US dollar compared to the Euro is a significant difference. Buying a 50 euro game from them is around 60-70 dollars pending on the day... Your best and cheapest bet is to buy it on steam unless you find a 505 version for 30 bucks or less...
