No dont install it as such or you will use up your registration, just copy ALL the files over from your gaming rig and download the dedi.exe file from the main portal page or Click Here , pop the file in you c:/program files/bohemia Interactive/Arma folder then right click the dedi.exe and send it to your desktop, thne when you want to launch just click on the icon on your desktop, you can add the server arguments in the target line then as well...you do not need to have a regisration number to host a server..

They have already stated in another thread that a multicore fix is not high on their agenda, so it'll be after the 505 release that they might address this problem.....

I think what is happening is that when you join an existing game, thats been running for say an hour, the server is struggling to update the client as to where everything on the island is... there could be hundreds of dead bodies(another problem with the dead bodies not being removed from the maps), buildings demolished, burnt out vehicles e.t.c., that all need to be downloaded to the client, thats why i think you are sitting in front of a blank screen waiting forever for it to load

log in as admin and the type '#monitor 20' then every 20 seconds you will get a message at the bottom of the screen tellin you how the fps etc are doing

What firewall are you running?? standard windows? Try changing the port to 2309 so to read: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive 2\ArmA Demo\ArmADemo.exe" -server -port=2309 -config=server.cfg just to check that your firewall is asking you to open it up, also i remember reading somwhere that arma doesnt just use 2302 as standard i think it uses voip on 2305 as standard but not 100% sure about that, so it may just be a port conflict, anyhow give it a go see if it works

I'm waiting to run this on a 10gig dark fibre connection, server actually sits on a 1 gig up down stream, but cant push it with only 16 and 8 players  Server code seems to be handling really well,apart from when the server just closes randomly, but like i say need more player slots available... Are we gonna get a fix before the full 'Fixed' version comes out on Feb 16th?? I doubt it, come to think of it no sites like Amazon.uk or play.com have the game on pre-order yet, so whats the deal with 505....do we have to buy from them???

it doesnt need a graphics card if you are running it through - server command (make sure there is a space) Can you copy and paste your full target line so i can have a look, i'm running 2 demo servers on my dedi box with no probs at all and no graphics card, looking at the error it is giving you it looks like its not running in dedicated mode...did you download the new demo.exe file as well?? post up your full target line and we can go from there

apparently there is a way to ban people now....taken from the wiki: #exec users         Show a List of the connected players #exec kick ID        Allows you to kick the player ID #exec ban ID         Allows you to ban the player ID which means you should be able to ban by name and not just the id Click For Wiki Link

So will there be a fix for the CTI mode for the demo version or not??? Dont think this has been answered yet by any devs or mods, or are we just supposed to wait for the game to come out in Feb...I currently have the 16 player CTF and 8 player Co-op running on my dedi box but i would like to see the performance of the CTI mode... if your not going to fix it, it was a bit pointless releasing the demo as it was

Thats what ive got in my server.cfg placed in the armademo folder, Edit the text in the ""...you need to create this yourself... on your server target line on your 'armademo .exe' (right click/ properties) add ' -config=server.cfg' so the whole line wold look like this: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA Demo\ArmADemo.exe" -server -config=server.cfg Also check the wiki pages: CLICK HERE

you need to create a server.cfg file and place in it this text: hostname="Put your server name here"; and put that .cfg file in your '/bohemia interactive/arma' folder.. Then right click you arma.exe file and send a shortcut to your desktop, right click the file on your desktop and go to properties, after the target line enter this text... -config=server.cfg click apply and ok now run the game from your desktop shortcut and all should be ok

No this is about the HD (high definition) availabilty in the game....your card will run it fine
