Just a wild stab in the dark here but try opening the ArmA2 directory and double clicking the EXE to try and start the game. It probably wont work but hey its worth trying if all else has failed. Also if you have a second DVD drive try inserting the disk in that.

i really cant get used to the multiplayer

Its easy to deal with tanks in Berzerk. just do what I did to the tank that was camped near the flag at Novy Sobor. He was watching the flag and every time it changed hands he would drive up to take it then reverse away again. Well I just snuck up behind him when he was looking forward and left him a nice satchel charge. Once I got far enough away he was toast when I set off the charge lol. -
Remember the lower you go the more accurate you will be also. I.E. kneeling is more accurate than standing and prone is more accurate that kneeling.

You wanted it. You got it. Now quit your whining.

Framerate-Friendly Island - porting stuff over?
Killerwatt replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Well, Here is my set up for what its worth. My ArmA2 installation is on my "D" drive so your drive letter may well be different. I have two additional folders in my Arma2 directory, one is called "caa1" and the other is called "oac" the caa1 folder contains three folders, one called "addons", one called "docs", and one called "keys". These folders contain the files from the caa1 download site after they have been unzipped. The "oac" folder contains a folder called "coa_core" this folder conatins two folders called "addons" and "keys" respectively. The "addons" folder contains the two "oac" files from the caa1 download site and the "keys" folder contains the oac_core_2009_07_07.bikey file from the same place. Again these files were uzipped before they were placed into the folders. Please note that all these folder names are without the " in the name. Finally the shortcut was created and the following path was inserted into the target line in properties. Hope this helps someone. "D:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -mod=caa1;oac\oac_core; -
Some online games such as evolution are indeed set up that way.

Framerate-Friendly Island - porting stuff over?
Killerwatt replied to Helmut_AUT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
The latest files from the caa1 download site seem to have cured my problems with the "pink line/death ray" Just a couple of error messages popping up and some textures not showing now, but overall its getting pretty close to perfect. These guys are doing great work. -

Installing a ArmA addon to ArmA 2
Killerwatt replied to konyo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I think the only way you will get it to show up in the editor is to place it as empty. -
Its all academic anyway, since it needs a disc in each computer to be able to play on a lan. So if you want to play on a lan you need two discs. If you have two discs then you have two cd codes. If you have two cd codes, you have no problem.

Game crashes. Sometimes after 30 mins, sometimes after 5.
Killerwatt replied to HHawk's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
If that is refering to my system then I can assure you that is not the case. My system is a professionaly built system less than a month old which only has ArmA2 installed on it. No other games have been installed. Just because you yourself have never had a single issue does not mean that issues are not present. Ive never had a crash in offline play yet but that doesnt mean I wont. I do however think it may be significant that at least one other poster in this thread has similar crashes only in multipayer running windowsXP. ---------- Post added at 01:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:34 PM ---------- Just a thought guys but you are sending in your crash logs arent you? -

Well I am not overclocked and I am using winXP and I am still getting crashes. (I7 920 with ATI 4870 2gig and 3 gig ddr3 ram) Always seems to be in multiplayer that the crashes occur for me. -

Latest Crash in full game multiplayer. http://rapidshare.com/files/250718429/crashlog2.rar.html -
That sounds like you have tried to acces a resolution that your monitor does not support. Go to your arma2 cfg file and enter a resolution that you know your monitor will support. this will then get you back in the game where you will be able to change it again if needs be.

Richiespeed made those missions and he posts on these forums. just run a search for him.

Track IR 4 not working by default
Killerwatt replied to Eroglik's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
F9 is the default key to pause/unpause the TIR software. you may want to change the hotkeys to something that wont conflict with game keys. The other defaults are F12 Re-centre, and F7 precision mode. -

Track IR 4 not working by default
Killerwatt replied to Eroglik's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Try unplugging your TIR and plugging it into different usb port. I have found that I had to do that on an odd occasion when using a usb hub. That always seemed to cure the yellow light for me and return it back to green. Might be worth a try even if not using a hub.
