If so, feel free to open up a ticket in our tracker and report whats wrong. This version released by Sti has nothing to do with our mod except the compability. The official Sikorsky webpage got info on a so called "Battlehawk" - an upgraded version of the UH-60M with capability of firing Hellfires, FFAR's and equipped with multiple gun stations. I guess this one was also available for UH-60L?

A.C.E. 2 - v1.2 stable (Advanced Combat Environment) Old
king homer replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
You can add the BIS M1A2 via createVehicle, that's the only oppurtunity you have. I decided to remove it because it is modelled very inaccurate and has no proper hitpoints (as a consequence the armor system does not work properly). -

Since ACE2 is normally distributed via Six Updater or Yoma only, I guess its 1.0 Stable.. :D -

Multi-Purpose warheads as used on the M830A1 have a decent blast radius of about 10 m. That's how it is in ACE2 already. Since the HEAT explosion is forced into a special direction without any blast fragments it's kill radius is pretty small in comparison to regular HE shells. -

That's because HEAT shells are not concipated as anti personnel weapon. It's a High Explosive Anti Tank round, mainly used against tanks and apcs. Versus soft targets you should use either the HE-Frag or the Canister shell. ;) -

Yes it is WIP. At the moment we have no chance getting special damaged model for any kind of damage without making it from scratch. We might add some (unrealistic) indication when an armored vehicles is disabled/destroyed. But nevertheless we have lot of vehicles burning/smoking when hit. Only the most modern tanks do not blow up when ammo or engine is hit. Try shooting a T-72A with an Abrams. -

Be patient, it's only the beginning. APFSDS = anti tank HEAT = anti tank HE-Frag = soft targets Canister = soft targets -

That's because the Apache uses fire and forget missiles while Cobras use laser guided hellfires, which have to be designated with the onboard laser by the gunner. Yes that's because it's not finished yet. Just be patient. -

ACE Armor system for 3rd party armor
king homer replied to Banderas's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : ADDONS - Configs & Scripting
Yes it's dependent on the RL RHA penetration data at 1000 m distance / 0° . If you check ACE2 cfgAmmo configs you will most likely see for every ammunition type an ace_hit paramater. -

Yeah exactly. Probably the selections are not named properly or missplaced. I don't know. You better ask Vilas. -
ACE Armor system for 3rd party armor
king homer replied to Banderas's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : ADDONS - Configs & Scripting
You're problem with the BMPs might be caused by no proper selection names. The armor script still uses the hitpoints like "vez", "telp" and "motor". If these are changed script will not recognize any hit. Here you have the parameters commented. They data is based on KE/CE RHA equivalent from many sources. You need also a special ace_hit value in CfgAmmo to count in any ammo. The value is representing RHA penetration in mm @ 1000 m / 0°. -

Okay I get your point. I got a bit confused because you're using "M829" but meaning the M829A3. -

king homer replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The M829A3 is as stated a very deadly shell, how deadly we just can guess and estimate from values we get on the internet. Same goes for the modernized 3BK29M HEAT shell fired from T-90. And again, it's not about complete destruction of any armored vehicle ingame - you have to get rid of the old way of thinking. Every well placed HEAT or APFSDS shell can disable a tank and make it useless. You don't have to waist your ammo anymore. The armor system is dependent on the models hit selections. For many vehicles they're not accurately placed or at least do not work as they should. This leads to the major problem you and me encounter: You definitely hit the side hull (cover of tracks) but turret is damaged. Somehow the hit selections seems to be overlapping. But you're correct about vehicles may explode when engine is on fire. There is a lower or higher probability, depending on the vehicle, the engine fire will set off a fuel explosion and destroy the complete vehicle. -
A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment - Public Beta *2*!
king homer replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
My two cents on the armor system: Please remember, we cannot simulate every small square centimeter on a tanks hull. The armor system differentiates between theoretically 10 and practically 8 different armor values: turret front turret side left turret side right turret back turret top hull front hull side left hull side right hull back hull bottom Only 8 practically because mines and top attack weapons need special parameters set in config to affect the proper part. These are divided in KE and CE protection (mm of RHA). We are using data from the internet/books on the protection and penetration. We had to do a lot of research to get all those datas but in the end some might not be correct but I can't tell you because most of it is classified anyway. Furthermore we removed the explosions when a tank is completely destroyed. There are new factors now like ammo explosion, engine fire, engine explosion which will lead indeed to a complete vehicle destruction. As Inkompetent stated before, Abrams is pretty unaffected by explosions while older tanks like the T-72A are likely to blow up. So please do not wonder when vehicles wont blow up in a big fireball when they're hit by powerfull shells. For example: When using M830A1 HEAT-MP against light armored vehicles like BMP-2 or Shilka it is unlikely they blow up but get disabled to the fullest. But there is always a probability only the turret gets hit and driver still can drive. The system is still based on BI's basic hitpoint system with few hit selections and this you players have to take in account, is limiting the scripts in all ends. The goal of this new armor system is NOT the full destruction of every vehicle, it is the capability of taking out vehicles with well placed shells, missiles, rockets. And yes it will be improved further on but IT IS impossible to simulate real penetration and the randomness coming with it. Keep that in mind, we do our best to have the community satisfied - and this is one step to do so. -

Please place the wounds module to have proper crew damage. Remember it's a game and simulating every cm² on a tanks outer hull is just not possible. -

Well actually there was an issue at hand people complaing about the loadout of US Army soldiers. Afair the majority wanted the soldiers to carry M4A1's with AP and the TL/SL M4A1 with ACOG? -
Yeah ACE2. I had no time yet setting them up correctly. But thanks for the reminder.
-
TOW2 can penetrate up to 1000 mm of RHA, depending on the type of missile. The TOW2 in ACE2 is a one-shot-kill weapon when used against standard T-72s . Either an addons is conflicting with ACE2 or you did not hit properly. Depending on the type of mine in Arma2, mins will only disable tracks of tanks. Currently the mines are not set up correctly.

The Apache is BIS made and we just put it in the proper faction (US Army) like we did with other units. Why don't have a little patience and wait for the proper pilots of US Army, 160th SOAR? The only problem I see here is the addiction to addition. Majority in here gives a fuck about the work we put in there - you just want new addons. Go and download them but stop bitching in here. -

No M1A1 is surely not overpowered. But in the end it doesn't matter - if you like vanilla more just play vanilla.
