But the Czech girls (that last one is pretty damn cute) probably do not see combat.

This is a relief to hear so many people defending our rights to keep and bear arms. The other forum I attend is almost totally violently against guns.

Being crazy or demented does not mean that a person is stupid or senile.

I have never gone from full to empty except after taking heavy damage (I think Behemia Interactive Studios modeled realistic fuel leaks besides the scripted one in the campaign, because I have experienced them before), but I have seen the meter on the helicopters go down about two centimeters by the end of some of my flights.

I do not think that they do. When I tap the mouse button once, I see one puff of dirt and one divot in the ground, and I only heard one shot.

Anyway, I never claimed to hate beautiful women, or even beautiful women in uniform. I do hate the Lara Croft steriotype, and I would hate any woman who would use her good looks as an advantage so that she could nail me in the head with her rifle. Just out of curiosity, how many of those pictures were not bullshit, besides the Israeli ones? Â Some of those were from movies, and some of them seemed to be "mascot" types. Major Fubar is right. Â I don't think the Spetz Natz have that good of hairdressers.

That is why I also posted my thoughts on the original subject (with respect, I may add. Â I even partially agreed). Â The person who brought up the issue of women in combat was supporting it, I believe. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Then there are those who look beautiful and fight beautifully. Â Those types are rare in my experience, but they do exist. Â Those are the ones that scare the hell out of men. <span id='postcolor'> And quite probably that is the reason I (and, I suspect, quite a few others) would have an easier time killing a girl like that than I would killing your average military woman or a male soldier. Â Humans as well as animals tend to hate what they fear, even when it is subconscious. Â But enough self-psychoanalysis. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">does anyone know the # of the angelina face or any of the other female faces so that they can just be stuck on a male soldiers body. Â This actually is not all that unrealistic, because sometimes in those baggy uniforms it's hard to tell if a soldier is male or female. Â Someone posted a picture of this but failed to give the face#. <span id='postcolor'> Angelina's face cannot be used on a male soldiers body, from what I have heard. Â Besides, if you want to use a female face on the standard soldier, I am sure you can find some for download, or you could have someone create one for you.

First, I did not realize that this was an oft-pointed out subject. I would not have brought it up if I had seen it before. Secondly, they may not be useless and they may not be unrealistic, but they do not quite belong in Operation Flashpoint. The usage of pistols in real life infantry (that's the key word here) combat is minimal. I don't see that it adds anything to the game. In fact, I feel that it detracts by taking a small step away from Operation Flashpoint and toward something like Counterstrike (although that seems a little harsh, that is the direction the step takes, however small). There is no need to get hostile about it; I am concerned with what I see in Resistance. Resistance loses some of what makes it original when it tries to go for the more urban environment, and pistols are part of that, I think.

The problem with using the optics is that I do not want to zoom. I just want to see the area that using the optics lets me see. I have never been inside of a tank, so I do not know whether it is correct or not. I want it to be realistic, whether it makes it harder or easier.

However, you do not have radar and the driver still sucks. What I do is tell everyone in my tank to get out and get into a support vehicle (usually a repair truck) to keep them safe, then I drive the tank until I spot enemies. When I see enemies, I quickly switch to gunner's position (you can do this without getting out of the tank as long as the tank is stopped and there is no one besides you in it) and fire. True, you still don't get to use the radar and there is always a delay. Also, you cannot stop very quickly when going down a hill, so you are helpless until you reach the bottom of the hill. But it works.

I'm talking about the graphical aspect only. Of course, if you made a world designed for aerial combat using Operation Flashpoint's graphical level of detail, only the best computers could run it (Operation Flashpoint's worlds are too small to be used for a flight combat simulator). However, I am also talking theoretically.

While I am against the idea of integrating female soldiers in Operation Flashpoint and do get pissed at feminists ("We can fight too!" Â That is not at all the point, woman), I must say that Operation Flashpoint does need official female models. Â Actually, they already have Angelina. Â The problem is that you cannot stick custom faces on the Angelina model, or use it for your character unless the mission designer put that model in the game. Â What Bohemia Interactive Studios should do is, along with the voice option and face option, include a sex option. Â This will determine whether your character will have the male model or the female model. Â I think that a new female model (one not wearing a dress) should be used in place of Angelina, though. Â Female custom faces would have to be done differently than the male ones, but you could use Angelina's face for a base. Â And of course female voices would be needed to go along with the new female models and official faces. I think that it would be a good idea to do that if it would not take resources that could be better spent on other things, and that if it is done it should only be used for multiplayer and for civilian roles in the campaigns (and of course for twisted mission designers that want to...never mind). In multiplayer, a petite feminine figure may make it unfair but how is it unrealistic? Â In real life, petite women would be harder to hit than a big man (imagine that). Â If you really want female models that are designed to be soldiers, then they should have the butch physique of soldiers. Â However, I think it would be best for multiplayer to just take civilian female models, stick your female face on it, and play. As for the psychological effects in a war, I would have less difficulty in shooting a pretty, pretite woman with an attitude and a gun (I'm not talking about your realistic woman soldier, I'm talking about the Alice type that some people picture when they think of female soldiers) than I would shooting a male soldier or your average uninteresting-looking woman soldier. Â There's something about that Lara Croft steriotype who tries to mix sex and combat that just begs for a bullet to put a stop to the charade. Now, I do like Alice, but that is because it is not in-your-face like Tomb Raider's "Look at me, I'm a woman with a sexy figure and a ridiculous bust and I'm shooting things!" Â Guys swoon all over the world. Besides, Alice has a better British accent.

Beagle is right. However, is this important enough to waste Bohemia Interactive Studios' time with?

Hee hee Landing helicopters is easy, except for the Hind. When I am piloting a Hind, I can't see a damn thing below me and I usually hit a tree or something that I didn't know was below me. But that is not a problem; it should not be changed. I wonder how real Hind pilots do it. The worst two problems are the lack of rudder control and, as Assault pointed out, the problem with planes dropping like a rock when they try to make even a shallow bank.

Aren't we inquisitive, hmmm? The point is that they made a kick ass game and they did it damn well. And correct me if I am wrong, but weren't all of Bohemia Interactive Studios in the military?
-
You are correct. The All-Seeing Eye does not support Resistance. Codemasters (or whoever is responsible for the screw up this time) strikes again.
-
I personally think that Bohemia Interactive Studios made a step forward by making Operation Flashpoint a rifle-only game, and they took a step back by including them. Pistols have almost no place on the battlefield. And do you really use them all that often, besides for the fun of it?
-
Even the helicopters don't fly very well; they act like they are far heavier than they are. Aside from that, the helicopters don't need a whole lot of work. It may not be completely realistic, but if it was nobody here could fly them (except for those of you that have flown helicopters in real life). However, I have flown small fixed-wing aircraft in real life, and I have found flying to be very easy. I know that the fixed-wing aircraft in Operation Flashpoint are neither realistic or easy to fly. Whether you want realistic planes or easy-to-fly planes, if they are modelled realistically they should be also easy to fly.

The RPGs are fine in Operation Flashpoint. Real life RPGs arc like they do in Operation Flashpoint and look like they do in Operation Flashpoint. However, the LAWs need help. Real life LAWs do not arc like they do in Operation Flashpoint, nor do they look like they do in Operation Flashpoint. In fact, the Operation Flashpoint LAW is just a copy of the RPG.
-
Yeah, I agree with Tex and Ralph and those who say that Operation Flashpoint should stay unique. Ralph, when did you become a moderator? I congratulate you, it couldn't have happened to a better chap.

But what will happen to this Counter-Flashpoint after Codemasters wins the lawsuit that will surely come after the thing is released for sale?
