    Make the propeller models, finish all the models. Propellers, landing gears and so on. The animation bit is done in Oxygen.

    I've never used gmax, so I don't know how to texure models in it. But that's what you should do.     Always trust the higher polycount, then you won't get nasty surprises =) Anyway, 2630 is low enough. No need to go lower than that. I was gonna take a look at it, but now I will let it be =)

    Ah, well you don't need to cut the poly-count down to 1500. Most of the high-res LODs of the vehicles are at about 2500 polys. I've downloaded the file, and I'll take a look at it to see where there's too many polys =) I'll check back later with suggestions on where to cut polycount. PS. It's one hell of a good looking model by the way =)

    First off: We already have coaxial MGs. Coaxial means that it is mounted alongside the main cannon. You mean the commanders MG. (Can't remember the official name for it). Anyway, you can't do it. You can't have 2 gunner slots in the same vehicle. 1 gunner, 1 driver and 1 commander. And cargo places if it's an IFV or APC. To have the main cannon + the coaxial is possible, because both are mounted at the gunner position, if you understand what I mean. But to have another MG, at another position, no way.

    Where are all the new addons

    Well, not me. I have a strange way of getting involved with alot of projects at once. And I always finish what I start. Stuff I am doing now range from graphics/models for 2 computer games (amateur, not anywhere near BIS class =) Models for the OWN MOD, models for Zodiak Productions. A small-time 2D game with the RM2K tools. (http://www.gamingw.net/ if you want to know more about the tool) And me & my friend have already begun planning for a campaign for Neverwinter Nights, when that is released =) I have time for all of these projects and school, so I think that if they really put their mind to it, all of the MOD - modellers can make other things to be released freely...

    Well, as I can't say I have gotten O2, I won't. But anyway, you do know that it is possible for people with O2 to make several projects? They can make UnitName for their mod, and develop AnotherUnit on their own. I'm making vehicles for our MOD, but I will make other things as well. And I promise that these other things will be released as soon as they are finished

    Hey, Landwarrior. I can't really understand all this talk about jumping to conclusions. Some of the guys saw that "your" galaxy model was infact not yours, they pointed this out to you. How is that jumping to conclusions? I do agree that everything sort of got out of hand, with alot of name-calling and "I'll hack you" threats. But, enough of this boring stuff, and onwards to merrier topics: You say that it will be harder for you to create a Galaxy from scratch, how do you think the galaxy was created in the first place =) Someone, somewhere had to put in time and effort in that model. So, I can't feel sorry for you about this. I for one would like to see you do your own models. For several reasons, one of wich being that I like to see other 3D modellers suceed. (Yes, I am a 3D modeller. And yes I am involved in a MOD for OFP. Link is at the bottom.) Oh, and if you decide to stick with the models from 3D Cafe, I think you should get in touch with each author. Send them an e-mail explaining what you want to do, and see what they say. Not all of them may be OK with you changing their models. That's all for now. PS. If I offended you in my earlier posts, I am sorry. This was not my intention at all.

    The poly-limit is between 2000 and 2700 for the high res LOD. Depends on which model and so on. http://ofpinternals.megaforums.ru has a lot of info on this...

    The fact that all the models have 5 times the poly-limit serves as evidence in this case. When you make models for a computer game, you don't start out by making a really high-poly version and then scale it down. You look at what you are trying to model, then you figure out where you can shave details off. Then you make a low-poly version. And I would know, since I have experience in models for computer games... Personally, I think we are seing to much of this horseshit. People stealing other peoples stuff, and getting credit for it as their own. Maybe a penalty system would be in place. If these things occur, the moderators find out the facts behind it. Then, if the person in question has done something wrong, they get kicked off the forum. Blocked, adios, see ya!

    @Swedish Man: Ingen fara pĺ taket =) Vi svenskar borde hĺlla ihop ute i vida världen... Anyway, I think I will have to agree with residuum. If OFP can't handle the magnitude of the vehicles, I think we're better off without them.

    Gah, you just won't get the point will you? WE (the OFP community as a whole) HAS NOT HACKED AND ALTERED THE OPERATION FLASHPOINT SOURCE CODE!!! WE HAVE NEVER "OPENED" THE GAME ITSELF AND FOOLED AROUND WITH THE CODE INSIDE THE GAME ENGINE. I never said anything about the other stuff.

    Well, that depends on the model. The highest polycount on any model in OFP is about 2500. (Got this from OFP Internals) So you can't go over that. As long as the model has few enough polys, and is in .3ds file format O2 can import it. Which means you can get it into OFP.

    Where has that been done? Tell me a URL where I can find that info. This is what the OFP community has done in the way of "ripping the game apart": De-crypted the file formats used by OFP. That is not changing the source code of the game. OFP Internals has made their own tools for creating .p3d and .wrp files. They have NOT hacked/disassembled OFP to do this. I think you should check your sources a little bit better swedish man...

    Why should I tell BIS? They have never said that the total size will exceed 12.8 * 12.8 kilometers. All they have said, in all the interviews, is that the actual island will be bigger.

    Kegetys hasn't made a Merkava. I just took that as an example, since the tank shown in the picture was a Merkava. I'm sorry if I mislead any of you to think that Kegetys actually made a Merkava.

    You're all wrong speeeedy. The islands in OFP can NOT be larger than 12.8 * 12.8 kilometers. This is fact, hard-coded into the OFP game engine. I will direct you to http://ofpinternals.megaforums.ru for more info on this. What is true, is that the new island will have more land area to play on. What can be found on the codemasters Resistance site, and the Bohemia Resistance site is this: "Features a brand new 100 sq. kilometer island" Sq. = square. As in 12.8 * 12.8 kilometers = 163.84 kilometers. I take it the original islands did not have 100 sq kilometers of land, but the new one will. Can we please just drop this now. Facts that can not be altered: Islands can't be larger than 12.8 * 12.8 kilometers, or 163.84 sq. kilometers.

    With the coming of mods ...

    We can make a new menu. Atleast, we can alter the note book and laptop models, since they are p3d models... But, there's no way of re-placing the original OPF files. What is possible tho, is have a pbo file that installs all the necessary models and everything in the addon directory. Then we have a new campaign to choose from, a campaign featuring the new models + islands...

    I don't think he made that Hawk from visual recall. I am a 3D modeller as well, and I just used Kegetys as an example, since he has made the first real O2 model. Anyway, I didn't say that everything should be done with no help at all. I was just saying that now a plain ol' anybody can download/buy a model from this site, and put it into the game. When Kegetys (or me) spends alot of time doing that same model ourselves. I think it's unfair that someone can get the same amount of credit with not nearly the same amount of work. And, please, do not make any further comments about my mental capacity BigQEd. I find it offensive, especially since I did not make any un-called for statements. My point of view is completely understandable, and as such should not be mocked by the likes of you. (Quite frankly, if we were to compare brain capacity I think we would find that yours is the one "a few short of a full load")

    It doesn't matter which program you make the model in, as long as you can save/export it as a .3ds file. This is the only format that Oxygen/O2 can import.
