  1. Oh ok.. I just hope it would be easy to change them to LSR, its a shame sutch great units and no place to play with them.

    Hmm...

    Well, this is a pretty simple request to implement. I will make it a configuration option. You will be able to use the LSR units simply by changing one line in the config. However, the LSR units will not be included in the installer. I'm trying to keep things as small as possible.

    There are already quite a few configuration options, but I'm not quite ready to reveal what they are.


  2. I remember assiting in a beta of recoil firing ages ago on an older ECP version and was wanting to know what happened as alot of us we discussing recoil values etc and what would be worth putting into a new release.

    OT, looking foward to this mod, witch US SF will you be using? LSR?

    Same as the last release: HYK

    The LSR ones are excellent, but the HYK ones mesh better with the HYK infantry.

    Also, there will be some configuration options in this version of EECP...

    For example, people will be able to easily choose if they want to see officers in caps or in helmets by altering one line at the top of the config.

    There will also be quite a few non-visual enhancements, but I'm not quite ready to go into that yet since I might have to move some of it out of this release in order to get it out quickly.


  4. BUT... I seem to remember reading somewhere recently that unless you BIN the config, you can end up embedded in the ground (only with pistols if I remember correctly??).
    This was an issue in ECP 1.071 which (as I recall, since I figured out what it was like ~1.5 years ago) was caused by the way that ManActHandgun was defined. Again, as I recall, it had to be done this way because none of the available compilers could handle enums. I may be way off here since it has been a long time since I went through everything, but that's what I remember.

    Anyway, this problem doesn't exist in ECP 1.085. There are no problems playing with an uncompiled config.

  5. Pappy, this may sound like a silly question knowing your'e thoughts on the old ECP pistols.gif However it dosn't seem to lag as much,and i was just wondering is their any way you would consider implementing it into a latest edition versionof your fantastic Y2K3 mod sad_o.gif

  6. Nice one, without sounding like a whiny bastard, what timeframe you reckon? Days, weeks, months? Just a vauge estimate. Just so I know whether to bother waiting or just start anyway.

    I don't want to give a solid date because there's a very good possibility that I'll miss what I currently have in mind.

    My current timetable:

    -Finish up new EECP (I hope to wrap it up by the end of the week at the latest)

    -Create EECP installer

    -Get EECP into heavy testing (2 - 3 weeks)

    -Release

    I'll probably start working on the 1985 version again while the release version is in testing. Since it will basically be a model swap with a few minor changes, it should not require extensive testing beyond what the release version gets (although it certainly will get some.)

    So the short version is that I'm hoping to release an alternate 1985 version very shortly after I release the main version. Whether or not it will happen this way remains to be seen at this point.

    I also used AEF Phoenix for the mountain shots. No islands will come with EECP, though.

    Like I said, about 90% of it will be.

    CSLA, HYK, RZN, LSR, Earl, SIG, and a few other addons will be in their own special PBOs for EECP that all rely upon the EECP config. This keeps things neater and also greatly cuts down on file size.

    CBT, RHS, and a couple of other addons will come in their regular pbos. These PBOs will be included in the installer, so there will be nothing extra to download.

    It has nothing to do with the FDF mod. I simply used a couple of FDF islands to take screenshots on.

    Not currently, but I honestly haven't looked at it yet.

    For the most part. CBT and RHS addons still come in their regular pbos, but pretty much everything else has been incorporated into EECP pbos.

    Everything will be included with the installer.

    Yes, a 1985 version is in the works. I don't have an estimate of when it will be available, but once I finish up the current EECP release it will take priority.

  9. If ECP'd allow me , I'll be honoured to carry out a 1985 ECP 1.085 Units Replacement pack while Kurayami'll do the modern Era wink_o.gif

    I actually have a 1985 version of EECP in the works already. It will basically function as a plugin (as it's currently set up, it would only require one more pbo and a different config.)

    It's just on the back burner at the moment. Once I finish up the current version, I plan to finish up EECP '85.

  11. use Resistance as a third party member...name it Germany, or Europe or something like that.

    Don't you think it might unbalance things a bit if the FIA forces went from T-54s to Leopard 2A6s overnight?

    Trust me when I say that the Resistance has been well taken care of. I will post a big update shortly.


  12. A ton of work went into this. I didn't contribute much to this release beyond a couple of ideas, but I've been watching the development over the past 8 months or so.

    I was pretty amazed when I got my hands on 1.075 back in January. I dug into the scripts and my jaw pretty much dropped at how much had changed (the database function in particular is absolutely terrifying without comments.) And DSAI... wow, don't even get me started on that. The first time I tried it, I was blown away. The thought of creating such a thing never even entered my mind.

    Those of you who don't go digging around scripts will probably never have a full understanding of just how much work went into this. It's really pretty much the most impressive player-made project I've seen come out of any game. There are so many complex elements, yet they all work perfectly together.

    Even the seemingly little things required unimaginable amounts of work. Zay and Komuna were working on perfecting the grenades up until a day or two ago... And they'd been working on those since before I first joined up.

    I'm very impressed. I'm just glad I can finally talk about it. tounge2.gif


  13. Ok now that ECP v1.085 has been 'officially' released.. how long before we get to play with EECP Kurayami?

    I still can't say much more than "soon." I hope to get it into testing within a few days (then again, I had hoped that a week ago... But I'm very, very close now.) Once it's in testing, it will hopefully be 2 - 3 weeks until release (unless any gigantic, game-destroying bugs are uncovered by testing.)

    Believe me when I say that I'm working as fast as I can to get it out in a timely manner. Also believe me when I say that it's shaping up very nicely... I think that this will be the best release yet. Hopefully it'll tide people over until AA comes out.

    Just hang on for a little longer.

    Yes, all of the new ECP features will be present in the next EECP (along with all of the additional EECP features, of course.)

  15. I think the video would have been much more impressive, if the models in it had been updated to current OFP community standard.

    The BIS stuff is look SOOOO outdated, it could turn people off to the project's good work.

    EECP is there for those people. It will incorporate all ECP features seen here.

    But really, people have nothing to worry about. ECP features will carry down to the vast majority of community-made addons out there without any effort on the part of the user. No need for anyone to get turned off.


  16. Are there any other links to Sigma-6s T-80 and US tanks? I've looked all over and cant find them. OFP.info links give me errors

    I don't know of any offhand and I was unfortunately unable to find any through a quick search.

    Does anybody know of somewhere else that they can be found?

    If you can just hang in there for a little bit longer, you won't have to worry about tracking them down... Everything you need will be included.

    That's all I can really say. I'm working as fast as humanly possible to get things taken care of. Yesterday was the first time I've taken a break in over two weeks.

    I've gotten most of the really time consuming stuff done, but I still have a lot of loose ends to tie up... Then everything needs to be tested... Then I need to make and installer, and then the installer needs to be tested.

    I don't really want to give an ETA since I always overestimate how quickly I'm moving, but it will be soon.


  18. Yes, Maa has nicely given me permission to make use of CSLA units. I've been working stuff from the update in to the next EECP version.

    But doing a full merging of CSLA and ECP... I think it would be an interesting idea, but it's probably something that ECP and CSLA should agree upon as a whole.

    I also wouldn't be the one to do it. I have way too much work to do with EECP alone (I've actually had to kill off all other projects because of it... I was working on a campaign, I have Il-2 textures in the works, I have unfinished Morrowind mods and so on and so forth. It just eats up a lot of time.) I don't think I've gone to bed before 3 AM in a week. tounge2.gif
