    (sorry duplicate post here)

    Dkm mi-28

No Mi-28s are 'in service' N or A, it has never gone into production, all examples are prototypes..not saying I wouldn't want to see it in OFP tho
  4. That date's correct..the first laser guided bombs were dropped in 1965 and used in combat by the end of 1967. It just took the mass media 20+ more years to discover and hype so-called "smart bombs"

    Susat optics / sights

this site has some nice external detail shots: http://www.cybershooters.org/sa80.htm but if its the reticle itself you're after, good luck - I couldn't find a good reference image online when I was looking a few months back. After listening to people who have seen the real thing I think the CHRSA80 add-on has it about right.
  6. Norsu..the Mi-28 lost that contest back in the 90s..the Ka-50 was chosen but only a handful ever entered service as an "evaluation squadron" - Lack of $$$ of course. Mil gave up on the basic Mi-28 and started work on the Mi-28N - optimised for night attack and using some western electronics etc. It still hasn't been ordered by anyone AFAIK although the Russian defence ministry claims to be still interested..alot of the Russian hardware contests in the 90s seemed to go the same way..sometimes both sides would claim to have been picked as the winner and very little would happen.

    Modern usmc weapons

Any plans to make the new M1014 Shotgun?..I understand the USMC were the first to receive it. Not exactly a frontline weapon I know but would be nice to use it for guards etc.

    Update on rnlmc units

Nice..the DPM ones would work well as NZ Army Infantry, just add Steyr etc

    Lav's

The Version of the LAV-III that NZ is buying is closer in configuration to the Canadian Grizzly than the US Stryker..it has the large 25mm auto cannon turret etc. The armour is certainly better than the M-113 its replacing. I know there's alot of armchair generals bitching about the US Stryker and posting it all over the web..garbled versions of their "wisdom" turns up here (NZ) in the Media and from politicians attacking the Govt. for buying the LAV-III. All the same things (and worse) were said about the Abrams and Bradley before they were adopted..I'm not sure what utopian vehicle these people expect troops to get around in - as heavily armoured as a MBT but still air transportable and with no maintenance needs and cheap as a bag of chips..good luck in finding one.

    Mi-2 "hoplite"

Alot of Russian aircraft (and even spacecraft) have that colour inside..supposedly the result of research on colours that didn't drive you nuts after sitting there for hours looking at it..although I think its just become a traditional russian tech colour by now..like how most computer/computer components are in beige cases/plastic - that was originally the result of some US Army study in the days of mini computers IIRC

    Rah-66 comanche by dkm mod

I think the US Army has been asking the same question for about 12 years

Oh my! have you seen this?

Definately are 2 seat versions of the MiG-25..although they are for training only - they have no radar, the second seat being up front where the radar gear used to be. Then there's the MiG-31, an improved -25 thats been a 2-seat interceptor from the beginning.

    "fighting omars" f/a-18c

Frisbee: that looks like an adversary simulation paint scheme..ie the guys who pretend to be enemy jets in training..there's a number of hornets painted to look like Mig-29s etc, some of them have black painted panels on the tail etc so from a distance the shape looks more like the Russian planes. Unatomber: those 'missiles' you mentioned seem to be mounted on a multiple bomb ejector rack..looks like some type of training bombs.

    Christmas tree

yeah..we all got a kick of of seeing it this time last year..just after a new patch came out IIRC..goes away after a few days I think:)

    Uaz with mg

They definately exist with mounted PK Machine guns -just recently there was some crappy direct-to-video type movie on TV here (filmed in Eastern Europe somewhere) - in one scene a PK armed UAZ was racing down a runway after the hero..probably not a great source I admit... http://www.aeronautics.ru/img003/chechnyamilapc59.jpg shows one in Chechenya..wearing an interesting camo scheme

    New canadian add ons update

Yep the US Army is buying a turret-less APC version of the LAVIII that they're calling the "Stryker". They're also getting a fire-support version with an externally mounted, auto-loading 105mm gun. There's alot of political and armchair general back biting going on about it..some of it spread here, New Zealand, where our army is going to start receiving LAVIIIs next year. Our ones will be near indentical to the Canadian ones, with 25mm turret etc.

    British sa80

At one point (this policy may have since changed) only Infantry units had SUSATs issued with their L85s..the rest (Engineers, vehicle crews etc) had to make do with the iron sights.

    More realistic spetznaz?

If you havn't already, download the UCE Spetnaz, OMON, MVD etc reskins - they go a long way to adding realism to the east units.

    Request for a vehicle

Yep, its a AS 565 Panther or "Dauphin-2" as they used to be named

    The guy on resistance box

I've seen used jackets and pants in that camo at the local Army Surplus stores. Its a Swiss Army Camo called "Alpenflauge" http://www.wephaus.com/swiss_field_uniforms.html

    Anyone making galil

M79 - some IDF units do still use the Galil, but only a handful..some Israeli civil agencies (that sometimes look just like the military in pictures) also have Galils in their armoury. The IDF found it cheaper to have the US provide 1000s of short M-16 variants (at first CAR-15s, now M-4s) than to buy local products..of course this has recently changed back again as politicians have forced them to start buying the Tavor Bullpup..now it looks like they'll officially use both as the standard weapon...somehow.

    C7a1, realism or compatability?

congrats on the nice add-on...are you going to make the C7+m203 too?
  23. Thats just the full sized prop used in the movie. Anyone remember the pretty awful Firefox game that could be found in arcades in the 80s? It used full-motion clips from the movie loaded off a video disk..looked neat but really stank as a game.

    C130 finally released

Denoir..your desert camo is actually one of the RAAF (Royal Australian Airforce) schemes, right down to the squadron logo on the tail. I used to see those birds often as the Air New Zealand workshop here had a contract to do maintenance on them. With the new C-130Js the Aussies have gone allover grey.

    Ov-10 bronco

That 3d model is of the Russian Sukhoi S-80..not sure if the real thing has flown yet, its been on the drawing boards since the early 90s.
