COWarMod Release
JuggernautOfWar replied to Gunter Severloh's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Thank you for clarifying. Here is the screenshot I was trying to upload. I meant to say ASC Addons, not wounds. Brain is fried haha. -
The all new: Ask a moderator about the forum & rules
JuggernautOfWar replied to Placebo's topic in OFFTOPIC
When I press insert image it asks me for either an image URL from the web or I can press "from computer". When I click on "from computer" the dialog box is then just blank. I cannot upload an image. Might want to get that fixed. -
COWarMod Release
JuggernautOfWar replied to Gunter Severloh's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I just installed the mod alongside JSRS. I activate mods through the ingame "expansions" menu. In this menu I select the mods I want to load, press OK, then the game restarts with the mods loaded. After the game restarted I see COWarMod is installed and running normally, but I also see a few entries that were not in this list earlier - entries that I do not even have a mod folder for in the game directory. I'm sure these have something to do with COWarMod, I just do not know if I should enable these too or just leave them deselected. I would upload an image but the "from computer" image uploader seems to be broken. The two addons in question are ASC Wounds and TGW Firemod Fixes. -
COWarMod Release
JuggernautOfWar replied to Gunter Severloh's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
EDIT: I just discovered this has a modified version of Solus' SLX mod. SLX was by far my favorite mod for Armed Assault and I'm excited to have it once more. Oh brilliant! I do still have two questions though. I have the feeling CWM has Blastcore OA R1.2 but not what I presonally prefer - the newer Blastcore A2 R1. If I ran A2 R1 it would be incompatible with OA R1.2. I hope that made sense, I do not think I described that in the best way. Also does COWarMod include a sound mod? Vanilla sounds are fairly unbearable. Glad to see such enthusiasm and support for the mod. It seems 3/4 of the modding community has abandoned their mods and missions choosing to instead wait for A3 to be released. I will definitely report back with my findings. I'm a heavy Insurgency and Domination server host and player, so those will be what I primarily test. Haha I think so. COWarMod is basically a huge compilation of mods from all developers, maybe with some you have developed sprinkled in. Right or wrong? Downloading now! Can't wait to try it out and report my findings. I'm excited to finally get away from ACE2. It is so tedious and annoying. Seems like half the things they implement in ACE just end up being half-assed thanks to the game engine. -
Project RACS is by far the best addon for ArmA yet, and I've played pretty much all of them so that's saying something. Though sadly I had to recently uninstall it because I'm not sure if it is compatible with COWarMod which I'm going to try tonight. Nothing like playing Domination or Evolution, moving in to finally take out the radio tower, then suddenly look up to see an SU-22 killing us all. Mmm... sweet death.

COWarMod Release
JuggernautOfWar replied to Gunter Severloh's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This looks really interesting. I can't believe I haven't tried this yet. I do have some existing mods for A2 already so I'd like to know if this is compatible. I have JTD, JSRS 1.5, Blastcore VEP A2 Version, ASR AI 1.16.1, GLT Missilebox, GLT RAW, and a pretty essential AI Heli Control mod. Do you know if any of these would be compatible? Thank you. Time to get some sleep. Been playing A2 all night since I uninstalled the pain that is ACE2. Are there any missions that support this mod? I see in page one the missions link only lists three missions. I'd love a Domination or Evolution mission compatible. -
As far as I know the interface size only makes the entire window larger - including all the content. If all the text and contents grow with the window size then really all you are gaining is increased font size and readability. It makes sense to make the dialog box longer and maybe wider based on interface size and/or resolution. This way you can fit more content on screen at once rather than have wasted space.

In all my years playing the OFP series I've never been too concerned about taking screenshots - until now. Is there a button to take a screenshot in game? Prt Scrn doesn't work (as in most fullscreen DX games) and most games have a key to press because of this. Does A2?

I have a similar question. I always feel the FOV is way too zoomed in for desktop PC play. The FOV seems to be designed for sitting on a couch like a console meaning it is too zoomed in for sitting close to your screen. Is there any way to increase the FOV?

I've noticed around the one hundredth page threads tend to heat up a bit - usually from simple misunderstandings. Please let's all keep our cool. I do not want another great addon thread locked. *cough*Domination2*cough*

Look at this UI, it is pretty unacceptable. I know this is not ACE's fault but there must be something that can be done. Some sort of scaling with resolution or something. 1. Why is the UI only taking up 1/4 of my screen? It would be so much more useful and easy to navigate if I could expand the window like in the operating system or have it scale automatically with resolution. 2. What is the 'T' with a lock symbol next to it? It is left of the Stingers weight.

JTD Fire And Smoke
JuggernautOfWar replied to dmarkwick's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
If you mean the fire propagation you may definitely turn that off in the userconfig file. The fire itself (particle effect emitted from damaged unit) cannot be turned off, that comes with the bellowing smoke. Besides, the fire effects of JTD remain unsurpassed by ACE or Blastcore. EvenLease I've been replying to your posts in the Blastcore thread as well as the ACE thread. Blastcore really is incompatible with ACE (Blastcore thread says this in first post). It will not cause stability issues in the game, but 75-80% of Blastcore is overwritten by ACE anyway, it's really a waste of space. JTD on the other hand only adds to existing effects whether they be from Blastcore, ACE, or vanilla. JTD in fact is not a mod, but rather an addon since it does not alter existing effects whatsoever. This means 100% of JTD effects are always compatible with every other mod or addon out there, including Blastcore and ACE. To summarize: Turn off Blastcore with ACE - Leave JTD in its full glory - Blastcore/ACE together is the problem - You will have zero problems. | I have JTD enabled with ACE (no Blastcore) and I've never ever had any texture or performance issues from them. PS. I should note I used to have a similar issue you reported. My textures would sometimes turn into a big sloppy mess for no apparent reason. This was not caused by any addon or mod incompatibility, but rather my video options. I had video memory set to very high instead of default. Default is needed if all your textures and graphics settings are maxed out. PPS. You should join my dedicated server sometime so I can walk you through these kind of things outside of the forums. It is not always online, but often is. The server name is "Jugger's Madhouse!". You can add me on Steam if you like. My profile is under my avatar. -

Okay thank you. A few of my ArmA buddies do not have the beta in their library. How can they opt-in for the beta in Steam? -

I know the F-16 is available in PRACS mod. -
Is this compatible with GLT Missilebox and all that? I know this is incompatible with ACE, but GLT handles things differently.

JuggernautOfWar replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
What does this mean? I can get the most recent version of the beta automatically through Steam? I already have the ArmA2: OA Beta shortcut in my Steam library (don't know how it got there) but I never see it updating.
