You can make the "floating crosshair" not float anymore so it stays dead center in the screen. Easy as pressing a button. Haha first time I heard that I genuinely laughed for a bit. Sad I know, but it was terrible and I may have been a bit drunk. I'm not sure, it was a long time ago.

Using backpacks/rucksacks
JuggernautOfWar replied to JuggernautOfWar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Yeah, also what confuses me is one time I got a completely separate view of my backpack items and I can't seem to replicate it. -
So I'm guessing they don't see flashlights either? I know they used to be able to see you across the map through a forest so I really don't know anymore.

weapon mounted light and laser not working in OA
JuggernautOfWar replied to pringle's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Works great for me. Steam version, no betas. -
That would require a new game engine.

I can't wait to see where this ends up! Keep up the good work and let me know if I can help in any way. -
Yeah they're pretty horrendous. These games are very hard to animate properly.

ArmA2OA - still best to use a RAMDISK ?
JuggernautOfWar replied to -)rStrangelove's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I don't really have anything constructive to say, but upgrading my CPU and RAM gave me all the difference in the world. Maybe you're running a server or something so you need it... I don't know. What I'm saying is I get 100% smooth FPS at max settings with tons of stuff going on, so I don't think RAMDISK is necessary, nor is the pricetag for the 16GB requirement. -
ArmA2: Operation Arrowhead Impressions - ALL OA Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
JuggernautOfWar replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I've been with this community for a long time (previously under a different name) and people know who I am, more or less. When ArmA II was first released I was banned from these forums, even though I've been fairly reputable in the past. I do not remember the exact reason why, but Placebo suspected me of piracy with legitimate reason. Once I proved my innocence via Steam activation key all was forgotten and my account was restored. What's in the past is the past, Placebo did what he thought was right and you did whatever you did. Please get over it and move on, both of you. -
BIS, what have you done to lighting?
JuggernautOfWar replied to metalcraze's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
If you go into Takistan with the same lighting settings it appears much more realistic. -

Same here when I got ArmA 1. Good times. This series can be very intimidating at first, I know it was to me, but do not even hesitate to ask for help with anything. We're truly a community here. We help each other out, help the developers out, and they help the rest of us. We the players make the game so much better by adding content and community to an already excellent experience. So cheers to Bohemia Interactive for doing everything we know and love.:biggrin_o: -
ARMA 2: CO (how to combine ARMA 2 into ARMA 2:OA and use together)
JuggernautOfWar replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Same here. Both games downloaded something but I have no way of seeing what was automatically downloaded onto my computer. Similar to how the most recent beta build has no changes listed. -

You've only got two CPU cores, not four. That cpu command will not work for you. -
Why in the world does my game gain FPS with Anti Aliasing enabled? I've never seen this in any game, not even in ArmA 1.

I think BIS stuck the SCUD in here as more of a template for the community to mod rather than something to work with right now in missions. I love that they did this. Making a fully-featured SCUD on a 128² [however big the gameworld is] would be unrealistic anyway, as they fire primarily ICBMs. Making it the community's choice means it's up to us whether we want that unrealistic, super overpowering weapon. Imagine having a fully-featured SCUD in a Warfare game... insta-win.

Nobody?

I just popped it in the Editor and fired away, no scripting required.

BIS, what have you done to lighting?
JuggernautOfWar replied to metalcraze's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Anybody think of this? The lighting in OA is different to better mimic the lighting in a desert where light can carry further than in a forested area. ArmA2 is suited more to a forested area. Eastern Europe is way darker than the middle-east during both day and night. I know the individual lights such as flashlights, headlamps, fires, and streetlights look WAY better in OA compared to ArmA2 so I won't say the lighting in ArmA2 is better at all. What bothers me the most about those comparison pics and OA in general: The LOD is waaay shorter than in ArmA2. Look at the Hercules. It's closer in the OA pic and the engines/fuel pod are two-dimensional compared to ArmA2's three-dimensional LOD at a further distance.
