Are there tutorials that explain how to open the game files/what program to use to open them, and how to pack them back up? Â So far, I have not been able to find anything on ARMA or OFP editing. I have done personal effects/coding for Battlefield Vietnam, started doing BF2 effects, and finally did final completely overhauled effects for a realism mod for BF2, which I recently left. If someone could help me out with the basic editing or effect editing, that would be appreciated. Some VERY outdated and old work which has since been improved but these are the only screens from my old work, simple, but the way they look ingame is realistic: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums....ect.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/20water2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/20mmdirt1.jpg the only realistic ground shock in that whole game http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/tankfiringdust2.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/mgtrails3.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/newrifledirt2.jpg shell ejections for mg34, plus the barrel smoke http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/screen2146.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/screen2279.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y28/mutinyman/screen2315.jpg well, i also had some kick ass .50 cal stuff like impacts and barrel smoke, but i can't get my mods working again. I had a bunch of other neat effects but i guess i can't show them.

Yeah, thanks for all the help guys. I'm already set up and testing different variables. This is very similar, I guess coding is coding huh. Although, bringing an aircraft ingame would be a completely different story heh, but really it's getting your self set up that's the challenge, but thanks to matt, i saw how he had set up his "mod", and didn't think it would be that simple. Now to get complicated with some effects .

Very nice effects DM, Although, I don't think my machine could handle it. I have a question, what files did you modify to do these effects? I used to mod effects for a few other games but can't seem to get used to how to mod this game.

No need to tell me that! I've been a modder since 2000

Fastroping is a good idea for this game, as unlike other games, Arma can use certain scripts. Â I would only go as far as fast roping and not picking up the units that way, otherwise it would get too complicated and you would be a sitting duck for anything shooting at you... But fastroping into urban environments is a good way to get a lot of troops on the ground where normally a helicopter of that size would not be able to land. normally the rope would be dropped after the last man, as you don't want to be flying around with a loose rope hanging from your 11 million dollar helicopter(no need to correct me, I know they are expensive, that's my point). example why you might need to fast rope into an urban situation - also notice the rope drops and they take off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htqYWmbnpkU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htqYWmbnpkU here the chopper gets in quickly, drops the rope, and also notice that they are sort of going single file, that might be a good idea perhaps on the coding part to make it so that the next person goes when the person before them is either off the rope on the ground, or half the way down the rope...i have no idea how the coding for that would be but yeah, pretty much the same player animation, and a dropped rope usually. Â You also would probably only need to do 1 rope on the right side as opposed to 2 ropes, as there really aren't that many people or ai ingame that would make 2 worthwhile.

wow that's a very good model, keep up the good work. Hope your normal mapping skills and skinning skills are as good as your modeling skills, as a good skin can make even a bad model look good. But on this model, a good skin will make it look great! great job.
