Hey Lurch Great addon but the Sounds of the Guys talking. I realize they are jsut for Ambiance but man they gotta go. I kept having to wait for them to stop talking so I could tell my pilot where to orbit. Is there a way in a script to disable them? that is the only thing keeping me from enjoying this more. -
WOW you guys ROCK! Sector should be MUCH more fun now.

1. The OPFOR vehicles are destroyed they respawn only on the Blufor side. Making it real hard to get from the battle field. 2. The time between one team winning a sector and a new one opening is WAY too long. People seem to think the game is over and they leave the server thinking the won or lost when there is actually 2 more sectors to fight over.

What happen to those 80 peep Team vs Team PvP servers?

Well so far the most fun PvP games I have played are the AAS maps on the "BASECAMP" server and Charlie Foxtrot's own PvP map which is an example of the map they run o their tournament battle day. The best part about OA is that its the first ARMA interationt o be really fun playable out of the box with no mods. the features and optimizations that are currently in the game make it a joy to play with no mods. (though I did try the ACE_SM today and OMFG that sound mod is fricken AWESOME) But I can deal with less than perfect sounds for the quality of play I have been having on these servers. -
SO has no one noticed this? I hope someone at BIS looks at this. They produced a great game mode than were to short sighted to test it? I dont get it.

Just run Spirited machines new arma launcher it fixes everything. BETA, OA, A2, MODS anything you want to run now you can -
As the topic says. I love OA, but at the moment see no reason to run ARMAII as the equipment in that game seems to be now antiquated. For instance no FLIR/counter measures, in the ARMA2 apache, no FLIR or FCS on the ABRAMS in ARMAII and maybe the most annoying is the fact that now there are 2 versions of the apache/abrams in the editor now. we cant use flashlights on the M-4 or the laser on those equipped rifles. Im jsut wondering how far BIS thought this through. Dont get me Wrong I LOVE arma and OA but it really seems its two VERY different games and not an expansion on one. Anyway hope to get some solid answers on this. Thanks

I do agree that this has been a SUB par launch for such a great game expansion. Both Steam and BIS are working to fix it, but these are the things that should have been figured out prior to release. This is not something that the MASSES had to be used to beta test. This could have been figured out just by installing the Steam version, and checking to see if everything went ok. On one hand Im a bit bummed that it has taken this long to get it working (its working for me now). On the other hand, there is no need to run ARMA2 content anyway as no one is using it because the configs are not "ARMA2 OA ized" yet. (please tell me that is coming soon). I do long to have a simple answer to be able to use my good old ArmA2 launcher to launch my game / beta / mods/ if I wish, in any order or preference that I want. I have no doubt that this will happen sooner than later, but it looks like it might be the community that fixes it before the DEVS. I hope the Devs get a move on to fix the embarrasing mistakes that have tarnished this otherwise stellar next edition in the ArmA series. -
1 Sector Control map?? and No template??

well the thing is I really like Sector control the way it is, I dont want to change it, or redesign it (other than putting it somewhere else). SO really all I want is the template similar to what the have now. to build that SC map anywhere I want. they hit that game mode spot on, I just need more of them. -

DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! I jsut did and it wrecked the Version. the game now thinks it is a DVD version and cannot play. I ham RE Dl'ing both ARMA2 and OA as I type this. -

except if you have steam it thinks you now have a CD version of the Game after manually patching. So I guess Im screwed until I figure out how to roll back. -

yes I believe you are right, in fact we should actually not even play this game because the AI are the only ones that know how to order other AI around. DUDE! you dont get it. I dont want to have an AI commander, I WANT MY SQUAD TO DO WHAT I TELL THEM TO DO. .......LOL let the AI squad lead......... lol epic fail bro EPIC. -
I am just wondering why there are so few PvP servers out there, I mean what ever happened to the Berzerk missions, and all the fun AAS missions. Seems its all just Domination, EVO, and random Coops. has anyone actaully tried PvP in Arma2? Its Way more fun than ARMA ever was.

Dude I have the same EXACT problem. It with 2 seperate mouse's, to the right it goes 720 to the left it goes barley 180. This just started, and I have No idea what to do. -

Arma2 dedicated server howto

I cant get my server to change? I put all the arma2 server profile settings the way I want, restart the server load up the AAS maps I downloaded and I check "veteran" mode and its all still the same as before. I would like to have veteran on with VONid on, cross hairs off, 3rd person off. and everything else veteran. Why wont this work. Is it possible that the mission is overriding my server settings? -
I have been searching and searching for the thing that will enable aircraft counter measures. is there any script I need to add along with th eprovided game logics?? any help would be aprreciated.

Not EVERY mil aircraft, Predators and smaller UAV drones are not equipped with any defensive counter measures. TOUCHE!!!! But really guys all this Mumbo jumbo about flare systems, while very enjoybale to read, is pretty pointless. ITs not an Air craft sim so all we need is a simple defeat system to give the Helos and jets a chance at surviving more than 1 minute. (And dont post about haw to Mask yourself behind hills for crying out loud). We just need a "Rock" to the "paper" and "Scissors" BIS has provided.
