  1. Remeber this remark from Marek Spanek:

Please note that if by any chance you download a demo build 5108 it's not the final version which is supposed to be 5109.

I took this from the Expected Release Dates thread...

I think i have build 5108 as it appears on the main menu at the bottom. Version 1.03 5108... Is this an issue? Whats the difference between build 5108 and 5109? Im playing multiplayer fine (admittedly with a low FPS..)

    Anyone know anything about this?

  2. Yep thanks a lot guys =)

Although its not perfect its still what i've been waiting for, and i know you guys always perfect this game through your patches. =)

I'll be there in Feb getting this game on the 1st day of release =D

And hopefully this will help pave the way for 'Game2' which im sure will be twice as good as ArmA and you'll hopefully have a nice new major publisher then. Instead of Crapmasters. =D

  3. well the coop map usually ends up resulting in me alone clean sweeping the town :\

    While the other people:

    "zomg LAGGGGGz"

    "i have everythin on l0w but 1t still has 0nly 4 fps!!11"

    "i pr3fer b4ttl3field 2142!1"

Cant say i blame them... lol

  4. AI is slightly improved, they move more smoothly at least, in OFP they stopped every 2 seconds.. thats a bit more reduced.

Though some things never change, like a single soldier lies in the middle of an open area, instead of taking cover round a corner. :\ But when fired upon some units will run for cover or if you shoot at a member of the squad the other soldiers will run towards him to 'help' him out.

What i do on the COOP demo map is shoot at the guys on the road to the right and run into a house, watch them run past the house to support and lean round corner and shoot them in the side biggrin_o.gif

  5. Long time no see Espectro =) (Assassin [sWAF])

But definately agree, what do these boxes represent?!? The whole UI is pretty lame, Yellow on a light gray colour?!? How could that possibly be an idea when designing the game?

Get rid of the 900 splash screens before you can play (dont give me the -nosplash stuff i know about it already) and at least let us use the map without having to have a coffee break while flying a chopper full of soldiers on board. Cause we just end up in a flaming wreck in the side of a cliff...

  7. make sure you have hardware acceleration turned off in sound settings.

how do you display what FPS your getting?

it isn't that bad with "normal" setting for me:

    AMD 64 X2 4200+

    nVidia 7600GS

    1 Gig RAM

i use FRAPS (a 3rd party program) which uses an FPS overlay to show your FPS. You can also record your gameplay =)

I managed to increase my FPS through Overclocking my GPU, tomorrow i will try and overclock my CPU.. but i dunno whether i'll recieve any boost in performance from that?

But i need a new GFX card anyway, mine sucks...

  8. Set the floating point to 0.

This means that the crosshair stays pretty much locked in the middle, this REALLY helps while driving and piloting, you dont have to drag for it to move. Also it means you wont have the 'free aim' which personally i prefer to have a crosshair locked in the middle.

  9. I have tried all those tweaks, im defragging my system and then i'll try ArmA with these settings and report back on FPS + what happens graphically.

EDIT: Increased my FPS by 2 or 3... And graphically objects pop in and out much more frequently and are only visible at close range.. Up to you whether you want to sacrifice this for a slight fps boost...

  10. I disagree,

I have a Radeon 9550 256mb, although it is a couple of generations old im dissapointed about getting less than 10 FPS on minimal settings at 800x600 resolution.

This compares to Americas army/Battlefield 2 on 1152x860 resolution with graphics on MAXIMUM and getting 60-80 FPS.

Operation Flashpoint: CWC never had this much of a problem in terms of hardware requirements, and although this game has very very good graphics less than 10 FPS for the majority of gamers is simply not good enough to be honest...

And not all of us can afford top of the range gaming rigs.

  11. Well the game is poorly optimized, im relying on good patches (which they have delivered in the past for OFP) to improve this game.

But disable all unneccesary background services and applications, stick the settings on the lowest possible and make sure ATI Catylyst (or ATI tools whatever its called) lets the application decide the settings.

You should definately get higher than 15 FPS...

Some people have created a partition purely for ArmA, with just the necessary files to get ArmA to run, which resulted in a huge boost in performance.

If that fails, you gotta upgrade your hardware or wait for BIS to patch this game like mad...

  12. It will change the distance that the AI spots you and how accurate their shots are i should think.

You can change this stuff in difficulty in the options menu...

But this is a more customizable way of doing it. But i wouldnt reccomend fiddling with this unless you know what you're doing.

  13. Dont worry, expect a dedicated server exe later today... if not... tomorrow.

Should solve a lot of lag and MP crashes, as systems are struggling to run ArmA alone let alone with other players connecting to a system as a server...

I hope i get about 999999999 thousand pounds for xmas as im gonna need a supercomputer to run this game just for >20 FPS lol

  14. I agree with this issue, OFP was perfect with the map, we dont want a marker on the map where we are necessarily, but we need to be able to see the map and not have to bypass a loading screen to get back to our screen otherwise we'll end up in a flaming crater.

There should be a clear list of issues raised somewhere, Stickied and locked, and it should be edited regularly and updated with some popular issues, requests etc.

I dont know if this already exists somewhere im new to the forum.. But i think it might be useful... Then there will be no need for a spammage of threads and the developers can look at the list and see what are the issues which are being raised and to prioritise them. I'm sure they are very busy and therefore looking through the forums in a spammage of threads wont give them much more time...
