    No problem, im not completely sure its the issue.. i mean i had to change it manually in the Task Manager to High priority to get the same effect you describe, but i thought it was worth a shot to post about it here. Let us know once your brother gets to try ArmA

  4. Yes a regular keyboard plugged into a USB->Serial converter plugged into my Keyboard serial port. Ive not had any problems before upping the priority

    Hey guys, i encountered this exact same problem when upping my Arma.exe priority in Task Manager to High. Try running ArmA and checking the priority of the Arma.exe in processes and try turning it to Normal or if that doesnt work try fiddling with the different levels and see if it makes a difference =) Fingers crossed...
  6. Hmm i tried it, and it made my performance WORSE :S and when i pressed a movement button it would keep moving for about 5 seconds after i pressed the button :S So it didnt work for me :S Spec: AMD 3700+ @ 2.4Ghz X1950 PRO 512mb AGP 1GB RAM SB Live sound

    CTF-St. Pierre RELOADED

    I am pretty dam slow, but i released the map using Everon 0.5 just incase it wouldnt load using Everon 0.5. This means that the famous fuel station is back, so blow it up at your will =) Also fixed the west flag bunker which was in a dodgy position in 0.5 due to bushes.   8. Hey all, Ive recreated CTF - St. Pierre from OFP into ArmA thanks to the use of Sgt. Aces Everon addon! I have recreated this map from memory so feedback is very much appreciated. The Everon is in beta stage at the moment so it isnt in perfect state, but it works fine and is still being improved by Sgt. Ace.     Chammys Sound Mod

    Yeah i do Infamous, it may be that the sounds are softer or something, but i find it harder to distinguish the direction of the sound, i tested this myself yesterday, switched to FDF and i could track people by sound much more easily.
  10. Nice work looking into this feature I'll definately give it a try! I think i may just use the task manager tho, cause i use ArmA launcher to start ArmA and i'd rather not go back to using shortcuts. Thanks again, i'll try it and update my post later on today

    Default models too thin

    Size 0 models come to ArmA it seems? But yes i also thought like you did, they're pretty slim and not baggy, they all got fairly skintight stuff :S Problem is if u start to make 'baggy' models it would look stupid becuase the baggyness wouldnt be animated, and if it were to move about in the wind or when the player is moving then it would hurt your frames i should think...

    Loudness of movement

    Indeed, i use sound a LOT especially in DM games and the like.. But quite often i can hide behind a wall and i would not hear anyone walk just a few metres in front of me. The only thing which allows me to get direction from sound is the bullets, and i cant tell whether someone is sneaking up behind me or anything like that.. Obviously terrain like sand shouldnt give much away by footsteps, but the amount of kit worn by soldiers should make a fair bit of sound (especially when sprinting). And you all know what marching on concrete sounds like, an army sprinting down a street should make a fair bit of noise also I havent a clue what u mean by random snaps, but nah i dont think we really need stuff like that, just up the volume of footsteps and make them heard at a further distance than half a metre.. Kit noise would also be pretty good IMO...

    Whaa? You still have to create the mod folder for it as normal.. it just gives u a GUI so you can enable/disable addons without having to edit your shortcut and you dont have to have multiple shortcuts for different combinations. I dont see how the shortcut method is any easier tbh! :P

    i find that there is usually always one side dominating... *BUT* ive also noticed how it can swing back the other way completely within an hour and then the team which was dominating is on the backfoot, as they try to attack the main base and end up getting flanked in the other cities where there is insufficient defence. So i like the dynamics of the MP games

    Yeah chammy's has amazing firefight sounds, no question. They just need to be tweaked with loudness in your hands, then vehicle sounds added and stuff and it will be a blast!!!
  18. Remember cheaters are usually lazy, if u ban their IP and they have to restart their router/modem then they'll probably just move onto another server. Maybe trial IP banning? if it doesnt work and honest players get banned then i guess its not really worth it.

    Yup, the only downside i see is a larger community for cheaters to arise... But with the extra money BIS could develop some sort of anti-cheat for ArmA specificially.. or just get Punkbuster (eww) but at least it would get rid of some of the cheaters lol

    3rd can be disabled server side.. so its up to personal preference. Personally i never use 3rd at all :S Especially when flying... To hitch vehicles you just need to fly over tothe vehicle fac, glimpse your vehicle, then fly over the top of the truck, hitch, if it tells you you're too low, rise, then press again and fly away works everytime for me
