That is true, but with arma's frame rate being so dependant on fast loading, the frame rates are better on average with this program. The loading stutters are my main gripe and this program really has helped to deminish them.

I also have the sprocket version and it always crashes when playing multiplayer. It depends but most times it will freeze after a few minutes, and I have to kill the task and the bug solver. This never happens in single player or the editor. p4 3.4 ghz, 4 gig ram, x1950xtx pcie

Well I dont know really. I have a pretty decent system. P4 3.4 ghz, 4 gigs of ram, x1950xtx pcie with 512.... and arma ran like utter crap before using ultimate defrag (to place all the arma files on the outer edge of the hard disk) and systembooster. Seriously before systembooster and the special defrag I got 20 and below in cities, now I get 45 to 35 with almost zero loading stutters. Don't know how it works exactly just that it did.
-
I have heard it works different on certain machines. For me it really boosted everything by a huge amount. Sorry to hear that it didn't for you. After I installed this I also got ultimate defrag from them. Its cool because you can tell it what files to put on the physical outer edge of the hard drive disk for faster read times. Now I have all of the arma files in the fastest section of the disc, seems to run great now in combination with systembooster. In places where I was getting 20 fps I now get 45. I still say the game is unoptimized because the trees still reduce performance but it runs so much better now. Hopefully others will share in my luck.

lol thats just what we need huge bears that run up and maul you while prone "12 O'clock, Bear, 100 meters" "12 O'clock, Bear, 25 meters" "OH NO, 1, IS DOWN!"

I have been doing everything I could possibly think of to get this game stutter free and running smoothly. I have spent hours upon hours trying and trying as I know many of you have. Well tonight I found something that genuinely boosted my game performance. I had played this CTF map last night with lowest settings, stutters and crashes. Tonight I played it at medium settings with zero stutters and at 40 fps!!! I had to wipe the tears from my eyes in order to see the fps counter lol. I was amazed. Whats more amazing is that the fix I found was so easy. Many of you will blow this off when finding out what I did, and so did I many times. The program is called SystemBooster. http://www.disktrix.com/systembooster/systembooster.htm I know that these kind of fixes are hocked around gaming forums like potions from the middle ages. Whenever I saw people talking about it I just said bs no way it could work. Tonight out of my desperation I decided to try it and I was seriously amazed. Heres how it works. You install it and set up an ARMA profile. The program will then use some of your cpu to preload files that are used often in the arma directory, so that when the game needs them it has them faster than before. quote from the help file: The game still lags in forests of course but much less

That is what it did to me when I patched to 1.02 as well. I thought it was frozen but in fact it was not, you should have given it more time, even though it says "not responding" in task manager it still is. You should have just let it go. You should probly reinstall the game and immediately update to 1.02 and let it go for as long as it takes.

Peformance on demo compared to full game
JackHorner replied to RussianElite's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I have tried out every conceivable setting in game and with my pc and I get crappy performance its not our computers its the freakin game. -
Its probly as unstable as the full version is.

How many times did you start and stop the download process? Did you download it all in one sitting or did you stop it a bunch of times. That could be your problem but im not sure.
-
Ya man I got the same problems. I have tried everything set to "very high" and everything set to "very low" and the fps stay almost exactly the same. The only real difference I see between high and low is that while looking around or bringing up iron sights the game starts lagging while it loads new textures and lod models. At very high settings my fps will dip into the low 20s and at very low settings my fps will dip into the high 20s. No matter what setting I choose I always always get this loading sluggishness. Its very annoying and I don't understand why I can run the game on high and low and still get the same performance. Specs. P4 3.4 ghz extreme edition, 4 gigs ram, radeon X1950XTX pcie This game is horribly optimized im pretty sure

If you buy the game those problems should go away EDIT: Sorry I shouldn't make that assumption but thats what it sounds like. I also read something similar on another forum.

Nice but you forgot rolling on the ground while prone

So after showing my friend some videos and the one I made he really wants the game and wants to buy it online. We have looked for this information all over and Sprocket does not state weather the download version comes with starforce protection. Starforce has really messed up his PC in the past and he wont get the game if it has this protection. There is also the German version but I heard about performance problems with it. Does it still have problems, and is the game any different than the Czech version? Also is there any problems with the patches and the downloadable versions? A lot of questions I know but he wants to be sure about a lot of things lol Thanks in advance. :EDIT: we will be able to play together if I have the Czech version and he gets the german version right?
