This would require custom icons which is possible I suppose. I'll look into it.

Those mods use a redesigned graphical user interface (GUI) layout. It's part of those particular mods.

The best part is the comment section full of people that didn't realize that :D

http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=10633&newlang=eng ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/mods/x_vte_v0.4.rar CoC Mines v1.0: ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/COC_Mines.zip CoC UA v1.0: (yes I'm well aware that v1.1 has been released). ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/coc_arty.rar CoC Divers v1.0: ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/CoC_diver_v1.0.zip JAM 3: (any more mirrors?) ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/JAM3_FIXED6.rar USMC Markers/Symbols: ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/USMCsymbols12.zip Bn880 Tracers: ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/BN_tracers1_24.zip ------------------------- A tip for those that are having problems downloading from "dead" OFPr.info links. Look at the link. If it says "www.ofpr.info" change this to "ftp.ofpr.info". For example: ftp://www.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/JAM3_FIXED6.rar Becomes ftp://ftp.ofpr.info/ofpd/unofaddons2/JAM3_FIXED6.rar And it will work again.

Only as long as you do not actually copy anything from ArmA2 directly. Recreating it all from scratch is perfectly legal ... and many months if not years of work ;)
-
Or you can open the template in the mission editor. Drag a box around all of the objects and hit "Ctrl+C" which will copy everything. Then open up a different island in the editor and paste the objects onto the island with "Ctrl+V".

LCA Texture update is well on it's way, soldier invulnerability not yet resolved. Mk.5 I keep making the mistake of continuing to add new things all the time. Need to do a last check of all items before I can start texturing. These are the optics I'm looking at doing right now. Schmidt & Bender 10x42 PM II; ACOG TA31RCO 4x32; PSO-1M2 4x24; Elcan SpecterOS3.4x; Aimpoint 3x Magnifier; Eotech XPS3; Aimpoint M68CCO Aimpoint T-1 Micro Close Combat Optic; Kobra EKP-8-15; ITL MARS; Sightmark Holographic Reflex Combat Sight Mini; Laser sight (experimental); Backup iron sights; Iron sights; Minimalistic sights (think MP-5KA1)

Unofficial downgrader 1.99 to 1.96 for License version Arma: CWA
JdB replied to _xetex_'s topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
1.96 and 1.99 are not exactly the same, and the server checks for changed files (because that usually points to cheating). It won't crash the server, just might prevent a player from joining or do nothing at all except for displaying the message when they join. -
Journalistic standards are a joke anyway, just look at the new standard CNN set for reporting in the last few days. It's all about shouting something, anything, to get the viewer to keep the TV on and watching the commercial breaks. I don't expect the various agencies to explain their methods in public let alone in any detail, so that will remain largely an open question for obvious reasons. Of course on a sidenote that will provide the perfect reasoning for conspiracy theorists. Not talking = plot against freedom. Security was likely just as good as at any other event of this size, or better depending on whether or not the other measures that may or may not be standard practice are now so "obvious" because people actually looked for them because two people got through and the attack succeeded. No actual mistakes at any level are needed for an attack to succeed. The only way to reduce the chances of a succesful attack further would be security gates, checking bags (/dissallowing them) and random frisking of those attending. Many more people would have been up in arms if that had been done without any (attempt at an) attack materializing. Accusations of being a police state, invasion of privacy etc. The bombing happened near the finish line. That seems to me like a logical place to carry out an attack, just like narrow streets, corners, construction work and congestion are logical situations to carry out an ambush, or a venue visited by a high level official are likely places to attract assassins. Start and finish for marathons are likely points of attack and a celebrity runner is at a higher risk throughout the entire course. It's all pretty logical stuff rather than rocket science. The lack of manpower to secure an entire route means choosing logical places where from experiences in the past trouble is more likely.

Does this happen when you try to open the program itself or a file extension you have associated with the program? It crashes for me when I try to use the program directly on a file, but it works when I open the program first and then open the file.

That's more of a means to let the public know that the government is actively working on security (even if walking into an infantry patrol in the center of Paris is a bit strange :p ) as well as a deterrant rather than an active countermeasure. Those you wouldn't be able to distinguish from the general population.
-
That's flawed reasoning, you can never stop all attacks but you can minimize the effectiveness of terror cells and contain the attack if it does succeed. Who knows how many terrorists have been caught or deterred between 911 and Boston through the use of specialists without the public being aware of it. Whether they were contractors or government employees would sadly have made no difference.

Yep, a lot of states only require a license plate on either the front or the back of the vehicle. Saying that it's proof of a black-op shows just how much these people actually know about the matter they are claiming to know the one and only truth on. Oh no a 1994 Ford Fiesta with no license plate on the front just drove by my house with a Delta Force guy dressed up as a granny, the NWO is coming for me! :o Why would they use contractors instead of people from agencies that are already working for them? Never really understood the logic behind that ...

Just because there are pictures of Bigfoot that doesn't mean he exists. Funny how a few tan pants and punisher skull caps immediately signal the presence of the Seals seeing as how you can buy them everywhere and other units like Navy EOD and contractors also use them. But well that's the same way of thought not backed up by precise and irrefutable evidence that the same crowd always brings to discussions on the internet and these forums as well. Seeing a few people with the same (or similar) clothes and a few caps all publicly available to buy obviously can't be anything other than the presence of special forces or hired guns. That people as mundaine as mallcops also wear identical clothing and try to look tough through their clothing is of course swept aside in favor of the spectacular "truth" and "revelations". When given the choice between the reasonable and the fantastical they'll always be inclined to go with the most unlikely option because they can. I very much doubt actual Seals would have worn the same clothing or other clothing that makes them stand out from the average spectator, which means these guys were EOD, SRT, Homeland Security, FBI or another government agency. There is no sense in using contractors in the US itself for this kind of event since the FBI and other agencies have more than enough undercover agents that can do this sort of thing and contractors would lack the legal basis for carrying out their job effectively. It does suggest that there was at least some indication that a threat might occur so security was tightened with more specialized personel present, but that would be the reasonable way of thought, saying they are there to carry out a false flag operation or create a precedent to take away civil rights or the right to bear arms is of course much preferrable to the astranged conspiracy theorists. And if all else fails, blame the Jews

You need to convert a config.bin to config.cpp first. I personally use Eliteness for this. http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=10855&newlang=eng The game will prioritize .ccp files over .bin ones, so you can leave the original in place if you want. If you do want to binarize the file again you can use CCP2BIN 1.2 (just don't forget to make a backup of the original first). http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?sekce=utilities

The only thoughts I have is that they are both holding their rucksack the same way, and that's not quite a convential way. Could just be out of fear of being pickpocketed though.

Not if they're unarmed. Habeas Corpus is more about unlawful detention and suspention of civil rights than it is about the use of armed troops inside the US (which is really a cause and effect matter imo). When they're unarmed and operating inside of the US they hold just as much authority during a public event as any other volunteer, but not to the same level as LEOs. So they can't arrest someone, but can assist LEOs during an arrest just as any other citizen can. What you meant is the Posse Comitatus Act ;) This would be invalid as the Posse Comitatus Act only deals with troops under Federal control whilst National Guard units can be under Federal or state control. The troops in Boston were under the control of the State of Massachusetts which renders out Posse Comitatus. Posse Comitatus is meant to limit the control of the federal government over individual states and ensure that the rights of individual states are not infringed upon. So the NG could even have been armed, but for such an event it obviously creates a tense atmosphere, wouldn't have helped and I don't think they were there to provide security in the first place. There are plenty of events worldwide that are made possible by the help of the armed forces, though not all countries have laws and regulations as strict about the use of the military in domestic affairs quite like the US has.

Blackblood is as far as I know the only person that ever released an FN SCAR pack, which was only a preview of what he had wanted to make. http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=9440 If you search the forum you might find a download link since OFPr.info doesn't seem to have it ...

That's easy to circumvent. All it takes is a 2 minute operation of unpacking of the pbo, changing a single value in the config from "1.99" to "1.96" and repacking. I don't understand why people don't upgrade to 1.99 since it's so much easier ... and the latest version. Especially server hosts who I would assume would always like to have the latest version.

Playing the Mod from the primary OFP.exe
JdB replied to circassian's topic in OFP : CONFIGS & SCRIPTING
So you basically want to run both CSLAII and FDF at the same time? This would be impossible unless you merged the configs and made everything compatible. They're both total conversions, not addonpacks or mods that expand the basic game. They're more aimed at creating their own world which is what both were designed for. You can add addons and mods to either of them so long as they do not use their own config.bin/config.cpp in the Data folder. Only one "mod" config can be run at any one time. -

You are trying to run a mod through the configuration tool rather than the game itself ;) -
EA Awarded the "Worst Company of America" two times in a row
JdB replied to Tonci87's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Don't worry people, they've promised improvement ... just like they do after every botched reboot of every one of their franchises :bounce3:
