    FFUR - Huge Release !!

Hi, first I'd like to say that you guys have done a hell of a great job with this FFUR... But! I do not know, if it's just me, but I'm getting a shedload of CTD's with different CWC campaign missions and a definate one when I try to start the Redhammer campaign (after the CTD it pops an error saiyng: Bad file format in p3d file). I'm playng it with the ACU config, module sky and the islands addon. I downloaded the insataller from the OFPC.de link and the sky and the island textures were form ofp.info.

    Battle Tank/APC Preference

I voted for the M60A2, (although there isn't one for OFP and the BIS one represents an M60 A1 or A3, nomatter what it says in the mission editor) because I like All M60's... A1's, A2's, A3's even the Isareli Magach's.

    SEF_HMMWV

The "Shaking" problem is caused by the faulty distribution of weight in the Geometry LOD. For instance... Â no part of tank may weigh more than one of its tracks! So if u have a tank that weights 50'000 kg, the weight has to be distributed accordingly: Right track= 10'000 kg's Left track= 10'000 kg's Hull= 10'000 kg's Turret= 10'000 kg's MAX Barrel/Gun= 5'000 kg's MAX Cupola/Commanders's Turret= 5'000 kg's MAX and In total= 50'000 kg's Similar weight distribution should be applied to a car or a truck! If done incorrectly, the model will try to tip over. It took me a frigg'n year to figure this out!

    Turkish Union Addon Pack v2.0

If you Turks (No offence meant) need an M60 model, then I may have what you need... some pictures of my M60 model: M60 MBT
  5. yeah those who can, can script almost anything. But I can't script shit Anyway, I haven't played any MP or SP game with such scripts yet, but I'd like to see this function (if feasable) and others incorporated into game2 as a standard so it's always available.
  6. While playing Ofp the other day and suddenly getting myself killed again, I came to an idea, that I thought is worth mentioning. When I got killed, I had a squad of 12 men under my control. Now while the camera started zooming out of my dead body, I recalled playing games like Age of Empires and Civilisation. In those games getting killed didn't stop me from playing any further. I just chose the next warrior I had under my control and kept fighting! Catch my drift? I mean, why not enable the player to keep playing as some other soldier who was under his control, before he got killed? Of course this would mess up the campaigns in the current game, but in Game2... ? Another thing I liked from these kinds of games, was the way i could command my men. In Game2 i would imagine it working like this: You choose the Command view (The one that allows you to see your soldiers from up above), press the right mouse button to choose a soldier, or drag a box over several of them, to choose as many as you need. Then scroll through different commands using the mouse scrolling wheel (while doing that, the mouse cursor changes as do the functions... Move; Attack; Mount; Support; etc), stopping on the command you need and pointing the mouse cursor over the vehicle or enemy you want your soldier/s to move to, mount or destroy... Simple as that! The same choose/select, scroll and command thing could work in the 1'st person view as well, just use the F1-F12 buttons to choose your soldiers (Btw it would be great if all of my 12 soldiers could have a few more under their control as well, but this function has probably been suggested before) Of course to keep the scrolling system properly useable there is no need to have functions like "GET IN" scrollable while pointing at an enemy soldier (perverse eh?), a tree or a manned enemy vehicle... So a kind of a Smart-scroll System. Oh and using keyboard and scrollwheel combos you could also scroll throught different formation variations and other functions. If kept simple, this system would be much easier to use than the current one.

SF' s Hummer + New M60 MG etc...

There is no need to open several topics for different hummvee types, just use one! As for the m60 mg's... Laser made a weapon pack for his deltas and rangers, plus he is now working on some seals.

    M4A1 Pack

Unless he finds an UBER-scripter... NO, not possible! Mapfact team did it with their XM8 pack but...

    Odd mesage??

If such an error pops up on startup then it's a missing ADDON!

    Odd mesage??

The mission or the BAS addons that u have added require some addons that u don't have. Each addon has its own configuration and its entry, but at the moment the game can't find the entry for the required addon, aka it doesn't exist in your addons folder. Make sure u have the required Addons for that mission and note... some addons require other addons to work!

    Improved unit editor

Don't know if this has been mentioned before but why not have the editor running... just like the game but without a player. Let me explain: The game would be running as usual, but on a "PAUSE" mode, so nothing is moving. Then u would have a 3'rd person view over the terrain. U'll be moving over the terrain with the arrow keys, changing the view angle of the camera (360x360) with the mouse and moving up or down with the Page up and Page down buttons. Everything else would be working as usual... F1, two clicks on the ground or in the air, place a plane, soldier or a boat... and so on. You can even go through houses on different story's/flat's/floors and place waypoints everywhere! What do ya think about that?

    Black Hawk Down

The operation flashpoint engine is one evil son of a bidge, (cruel words, yes, I know...) but a flexible one, that is. Ever tried to make a civilian skoda take a tight U-turn perfectly... no luck eh? Even on a straight road two Ural's (one behind the other) will end up crashing into each other. The battles that took place in Mogadishu, Somalia were CQB's. To re-create anything similar to those events in 1993 in OFP would require extreme co-ordination between the models, scripts and animations. U can't just take a CBT Humvee and have it navigate between anyones Mogadishu streets. The streets must have the right dimentions and LOD's to suit a cearten Humvee which also has the correct LOD's and dimentions. Plus all the action has to be script driven, otherwise the Humvee will stop at every somali and get blown up, into the 7'th heaven, by anyones RPG. So there is no way u could use all these different addons without modifyng them. Such a MOD is better off with it's own stuff which would work in the environment they want them to work... They may end up with 3 Blackhawks: one for flying, the second one for fastropeing and the third one for takeing the plunge. Brace yourselves cause it's going to be difficult! If this Black Hawk Down Mod succeeds in making the addons and atleast one working mission (not even dreaming of a campaign)for OFP I will... I will... I'll do something good... Â

    CSLA 2 Update1

I placed two vehicles of the East/Guerilla side as a group, both had a DSHK, one was this new minivan and the other the GAZxx6xx (what ever). I shot the GAZ from the minivan with the DSHK and the game CTD'd... hope u can fix whats causing it.

    DMA Animation Pack 1.0

Hi Sanctuary, this is the best pack yet! But U already know that, don't ya? Anyway...the 3'rd person view looking is great, hands in the right places and weapons at the right height, but as some have already mentioned...the 1'st person view is not that good looking. Yes the hand is too much to the right, but what bugs me even more is that the weapon looks like it's held at stomach height and pointed slightly upwards, it was like that with the original (BIS) Anim.pbo and it still is. I've been trying do something about it but to no avail, My limited skills with OpfAnim do not allow that. It looks like there is some view point which seems to be un-editable, if so the animation should be built around it. What I'd like to achieve is to have the weapon held higher, have it's barrel pointing straight or slightly downwards and have the overall weapon held more straight. /\ A very rought explaination to what I'm trying to say.
