maybe a dumb question but I was hoping for some opinions before I spent the money is a separate sound card that much of an improvement over an onboard sound chip that it is worth the cost or are the sounds, quantity and quality, not that noticeable? any feedback is appreciated

I currently have the ac'97 chip on an ASUS board. Using the latest 4in1 drivers. save my money?

I went to the Mozmans site and saw that the campaign is completed. I was not able to download it due to a bad url. is anyone else aware of this or tried getting this campaign to download?

I am probably behind the times so forgive me, but I hear such rave reviews about Satchel's sound pack but that it did not work with 1.46. Has this been fixed so that it does work and if so where can I D/L that sound pack?
-
would that be Ixnays dynamic range update or PV's fix for dynamic range soundpack that I choose?
-
bum deal, Have you anything further about Indenpence Lost? The only thing I can find is on The Avonlady's site. can't find anything at codemasters or BIS.

Does anyone know if these will be avl for download like Redhammer was or will one have to buy them in store on a cd?
-
I notice that some campaigns require desert textures. not being to familiar with them, if I d.l. a desert terrain will it replace the original terrain totally or will it only apply the terrain when I play a specific mission that requires it and then automatically go back to the terrain that came with the game when I play a standard mission?
-
providing that the mod is still going, I would assume then because of the way the code is written for this game, that you could switch the campaign and it would alter the scenery (say to the ww2 mod) then when you switch back it would alter things back to 1985 smooth as silk? that would be the coolest!! I hope they keep working on it
-
Does anyone know about these mods that are being developed? I am wondering if they will be like other campaigns that are currently available or will they alter the game to the point that you could not play the original game with out re-installing it? In other words would you be able to switch back and forth between the original game/add on campaigns and these new mods?

I remember reading a post where you said that your completed black hawk down mission was located. I cannot find that post now, where is your mission? I'd like to give it a shot

Before I download and install 1.45, I wanted to make sure that it was ok to do this as I have the D.L. version of Redhammer. I wanted to make sure that by downloading this it will not screw up the DL of redhammer and cause me to have to purchase the DL again Thanks
-
I am no mission editor by any stretch so I would not even know the feasability of my question but, has anyone thought of or tried to reconstruct a scenario similar to how the Somalia raid went down in Black Hawk Down? If its a do-able thing, it might be a pretty cool single mission, or even a campaign Just a though...........
-
Agreed, two to choose from I'd say, the classic Colt 1911 and the current Baretta 9mm
-
cool deal, sounds like a great mission design your working on. For a bit there I thought I was kinda floundering on a limb with that one. I can't wait to give it a shot! Good Luck with it, obviously you are far more skilled than I when it comes to the technical aspect of it.

well sure anything sounds bad when you look at it like that , just switch mindset from seek and capture to a rescue then you could conceivably set some victory conditions (you know like just stay alive and get back to base ) ah well it was just an idea
