Sorry got interrupted earlier, I'm thinking cargo scripts to allow the M113 carry ammo boxes to a location and drop them off, rapid disembarking of crew, and for deploying support weapons out of them.

why the aggro? Does it cause you such pain to be disagreed with?

What about a Hydraulic sleeve or similar "patching" texture that stays inside the weapon model until it moves from the vehicle? Could it be added to the basic vehicle?

With regards to the question of the M113s function, where it used to fulfill the same role as the bradley in armoured units and the same as the LAV-III in Mechanised units its current role is best described as an armoured truck. Basically M113s and its other armoured box cousins are used to move around personnel and supplies behind the forward edge of the battle area, their primary advantage over trucks and softskins being their mobility as tracked vehicles and the protectiion they offer against shell splinters. The armour of the M113 is too thin and not slanted so even uparmoured variants lack the protection of a Warrior or to a lesser extent in terms of slope the Bradley so its extremely vulnerable in the attack. Also the single 12.7mm machine gun provides insufficient firepower for supporting dismounted infantry. There is however the united defense (among others) AIFV which is an M113 re-turreted with a 25mm cannon and uparmoured, which gave it the same crew and passenger capacity as the bradley (it is the poor mans Bradley) but as mentioned previously its not as well proteceted as the bradley IFV. This raises the question of how to use the M113 in OFP, I'd say that its best used as a truck for convoy missions or as a patrol vehicle for counter insurgency scenarios. Which is my only problem with this pack, the models and textures are beautiful, and the weapons are quality but it lacks that added scripting to make it unique

Klink: Can all those weapons have different target preferences? i.e. Air or Surface targets first. I think the most useful platform for this amount of extra firepower would be wheeled vehicles.....*Imshi clicks heels together three times* damn. Well what about a 5ton truck or Jeep testbed version Klink? GJ so far anyway

Keeps flipping when it tries to do a touch and go....thanks to PBs mod thats actually quite a cool thing because the last guy running away from it gets vapourised by the explosion. I guess this release puts ONS in pole position with OFRP for the most rounded real army mod (US and RUS aside)

I believe they've ordered the EH101 but do they have any army support Medium lifts in service? What roles do the S-61s cover?

Ah its the old 1st recon crowd,I still have them installed with their silly little part hats, whats the PBO called so I can remove it? The new guys are great, so far I've most enjoyed being in a mechanised section supporting an armoured attack, and using OH-6s to drop teams of frogmen into the water next to a bridge that a soviet column is about to pass

Its great to see all (well pretty much all) the elements of a functional combat unit released together, this is my aim for the Irish defence force pack (which is one of the things holding us back). One problem though, my soldiers still all look like the ones from the last release as opposed to the snazzy chaps in the screenies here, is there an old PBO I have to dispose of?

I get a model special error with the M40A sniper. The engagement ranges are awfully short, I was able to advance a platoon in the open to within less than 100m before the max skill, Colonel sniper pair fired a single shot. While we're on the subject could you embed a script to make the snipers retreat once the enemy comes within 200m? -
Would they be a fire arms response unit (i.e. They create cordons around hostage situations etc) or a SWAT style entry team (i.e. Actually storm buildings)

Imshi looks at new pic on site, and lets out a sigh of regret...so very gucci GJ on the textures as usual guys, doesn't the HH-65 perform basically the same role as the MH-68 or does it have an SAR role as well?

Actually I take it back the LAV-III wont require that much work, for someone who knows their way around ODOL explorer the main thing is the one man turret and the 9-10 man cabin capacity.

We could still use texturers for our vehicles and a modeller to make a turret for an AML-20 (We already have the 90mm version.) And a Nissan patrol (without a Siren) Add a Piranha III and the project will have achieved its primary objective of having all the elements of an Irish Battalion battle group available in OFP.

Hmmm Irish Air Corps uses the Dauphin/Dolphin in the same role, and the Irish Naval service operates Patrol vessels with similar taskings..... *nudge-nudge* *wink
