I like Malden the best. It's got big towns such as La Trinite, a nice airfield and a desert (yay). Of course, nothing beats the scenery on Everon, but still, Malden is my favorite.

It's too bad BIS didn't implement that many snipers in the official missions. The only one I clearly remember is the one outside St. Marie in the 'Pathfinder' mission. He's not that efficient either.

I'm not British, but the SAS was the first elite force

BTW <span id='postcolor'> yeah it was low quality, you will probably find that the Germans were outnumbered so they were bound to lose.<span id='postcolor'><span id='postcolor'> Well, in 1941, when the Germans first encountered the T-34 they only had Panzer III's and IV's to fight it. Those tanks were inferior to the T-34, which wasn't low quality but just had very simple technique so it could be fixed easily on the battlefield. It wasn't until late 1941, when the Germans came up with the Panzer V or Tiger, which was based on the T-34, that they had a chance against them. And later, when the Panthers and in the end King Tigers appeared they had technically superior machines but found themselves outnumbered.

Yeah, that's basically all there is to it. And some stuff on the way home, which I won't spoil

You get kicked out of the game with a message that you haven't got [insert addon name here] installed. But, like I said, people should just think about that if they make a mission. And the feature you suggested should be implemented to prevent stuff like that from ruining a fine gaming experience. Edit: sp

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a GeForce 4 MX a slightly upgraded GeForce 2?

Wouldn't it be funny if some country invaded the US: "What the..." "What is it, private?" "That little girl is pointing a .50 calibre at us"

Every author should just name the required addons in the readme file. Simple as that

What would be great is giving the AI some 'emotions', like some already suggested earlier in this topic. For instance, soldiers cowering behind walls, heroic soldiers engaging the enemy at all costs, stuff like that. Not just some robot called 'George Dabak' or so who will engage a T-80 with a knife if you ask him to.

By the way, is it possible to sink a LST with a tank or so? There was an LST off the coast in a mission but I wasn't able to sink it with a tank.
-
Yeah, I strongly recommend the soundpack. Even though it doesn't cover all sounds (e.g. the new M2A2 and BMP2) it works great.
-
An AC-130 Spectre would be cool, only...I'm not sure if they were in service in 1985. *shrugs* About the planes that are currently in OFP: they do provide a great atmosphere but I think that the battlefields in OFP are just too small-scale for effective use of a plane. I mean, with 600 kmph (or was it mph?) you'll be flying past everything too fast.
-
Yeah, and before they fixed the 'law speed' it was even harder to hit stuff. Just remember: Practice makes Perfect
-
Yeah, whenever I'm stuck with, say a M-60 in a game where you can't choose your own weapon I always pick a different rifle off the first dead guy I see. I prefer an AK74 or a M-16 over a M-60 or PK anytime.
-
Well, the voice acting didn't annoy me so it was pretty allright. But the thing about the AI drivers being really careful to stay on the road....I once rammed Sgt. Berghof with my 5t truck when he braked all of a sudden. I got out and noticed he was dead. I almost wet my pants laughing
-
Platoon...that was a great movie. Oh, back on topic. I want rivers and bridges in OFP.
-
*takes off his hat* She's been through 2 world wars, a Russian revolution that changed the world and a whole lot more. Rest in peace.

Yeah, tanks and their crews in OFP...sometimes they amaze me with their smart AI, other times I'm amazed by their dumbness. For instance, one time I shot the driver of a T-80 while he was turned out. The gunner and commander quickly turned in. Next, the commander got out and took the place of the driver! What happened next was the usual thing that happens when you face a tank on open ground at a distance of about 100 metres: the barrel turned towards me and I saw the pretty lights. Dumb AI: I played as a Spetsnaz against the Resistance and I faced a T-55 with the crew already on alert. I was at about 50 metres when it spotted me so I did what I usually do when close to a tank: run towards it so it can't shoot me. I ran around the tank while it turned with me, trying to track me. I put some satchel charges, ran to the back of the tank and n away when it lost track of me. I blew it up. It seems that AI tanks don't know how to deal with infantry that's too close for them to hit with the machine gun. They never drive you over or anything...

I totally agree with mp82. I would seriously recommend Satchel's soundpack to anyone that isn't happy with the standard sounds. I mean, gunfights sound so much more realistic with the sound addon: Gunfight in ofp with standard sound: pop pop poppoppop pop poppop Gunfight with sound addon: bangbangbang bang bang bang bang bratatatatatata Okay, this was a bit silly but the point I'm trying to make is that the original small arms fire sounded a bit cheap.

I use a Voodoo 3 but it sucks. I think I'm gonna buy a good GeForce 2 soon.

Ahhh...my old 286... I played a lot of games back then, like Prince of Persia, Wolfenstein 3d (which was really slow on that PC), Sopwith 2 (really addictive) and many other games of which I can't remember the name.
