Are you sure??? I think I may have tried that ONCE. In that mission, it missed so I figured it was not able to do that. Anyways, I just finished up another round of playing that level. Managed to get my men and I into a shilka in another base. We got in, killed a bunch on gaurds before we hopped in though. The hind showed up, I targeted it, told my gunner to knock it out the sky. The instant he but the gun to bear on the hind, the hind luckily (for it I suppose) flew behind a hill and kinda didn't really come out. (Man, I was really looking forward to blowing away that hind) I guess it was going to make another pass as soon as it came back around. So now I told the driver to move over just a bit, when I saw an AT soldier a bit away. I tried to make the gunner target the soldier but he didn't, and I don't know why (Maybe I missed). In a few seconds we were toasted by an AT rocket. So what's up with that? Shilka gunners can't target infantry? That's funny, I seem to remember an earlier mission where a shilka targeted and killed me while I was hiding behind a bush.

The shilka only has a machine gun?? Ok, then tell me this. Can it's machine guns take out a T-72? I think I am going to have to play that mission again. And when I attack that base, take out the shilka crew first before they hop into the shilka and then take out any nearby T-72s that have men in them with my rocket launcher while my men cut down any gaurds running around. Then hop into the shilka to eliminate the hind. And then hopefully a good T-72 will be around that we can hop into and take out any remaining soldiers and tanks. Which is better to take out other tanks, the shilka or another T-72?
-
Also, what other weapons does a shilka have other than that big machine gun? Do they have any cannons like SABOT's or HEAT? Do they have any anti-tank capabilities like that? How many crew does one take?
-
What about if we jumped into the shilka instead? They say that shilkas have good anti-air capabilities. Maybe that would be better?

Digital Centurion. When I was referring to improving the "spec ops" aspect of the game. I wasn't meaning make it a "major" part of the game. I just think that the "spec Ops" part needs improvement because it's just a smaller parallel of the conventional combat in OPF. Personally I think the main "conventional" warfare aspect of the game is already perfect and doesn't really need improving. And I do prefer to be infantry rather than "spec op". I just think either that part should either be improved in the next game a bit, or left out of the game. I mean this is a game where you can pretty much do "anything" so all aspects of the game should be realistic, I think.

To be honest, I think any other war scenario in the past 20 years would be basically very similar to what we have in OPF. I think if they used some more CQC style scenarios in the next game, that would be awesome. So far all the scenarios have been in large outdoor battlefields. I mean shooting a Chinese soldier wouln't be all that different from shooting a Soviet soldier or Russian soldier. I think in a new sequel, they would need to make the battles either entirely different or do something dramatic. Not just do another country. I mean that's what mods are for. They should add animals as suggested by an earlier post. Maybe they should do some thing very different. Like another era. Like in the colonial days. With horses and muskets, and cannons, and stuff. If nothing else, just improve the "spec op" aspect of the game and add more CQC scenarios and more to do with the water. Like hiding underwater or amphibious assualts.

I think they should put animals in the game. I mean this is the most realistic game out there. So they should have animals in the game too. Wild or trained. Even if they are just birds. Imagine how cool it would be to be walking around watching for enemies when maybe 50 or 70 yards away, a flock of birds panicked fly away, indicating that there may be some enemies in the area. Or other animals such as birds, ducks, deer, bears, wolves, foxes, rabbits, or whatever is appropriate for the situation. Or maybe even military trained attack dogs. Or heck suppose you are on patrol around some woody area's and happen to anger a mother bear?? Oh, no. What to do? Run? Go prone and stay still? Try to use weapons like guns or even grenades? Of course you might need some really HIGH POWER rifles to even hurt an enraged bear. It might be an interesting idea to be on the lookout for enemies and then getting killed by angry bear, or if you are in the jungle, getting ambushed by a jaguar or other big cat or crocadile.

Oh, and another thing. WATER!! That's right. Maybe we could be scuba or amphimious units too. Like swimming or stuff, like SEAL's.

Yeah, I agree about that. I don't really think that a "modern day" conflict would be much different from OPF, after all little has changed since then. Like I said earlier, I would like to see the "spec op" aspect of the game improved so that the commands are different and the style of play in spec ops are different. Infact they should include a "spec op" training course in the game too so that players learn how to effectively do spec ops instead of just treating them like "smaller" conventional operations. I hope to see some CQB type missions included too. That is an aspect of special warfare that is unexplored in OPF. What does everyone else think?

I think they are pretty good too. I like cow2 better. But I don't think their necks should be straight up like that. Also, you only gave him 2 legs. Also, what does everyone else think about my idea that animals should be included in Operation Flashpoint?

How do you use the the dragunov sniper rifle? I already read the booklet, and it really makes little sense.
-
I know that. But how do you accurately determine which of the "^^"s to use under that for really long shots? Like if you are shooting a soldier that is really far away. Can anyone give me a detailed explanation as how to effectively use this rifle? I can use it accurately at close range, but I don't know how to use the scale to the left and use that in judging how to elevate the scope.

I don't really think war is all that easy today. I mean even land warrior still isn't that common and is only used by few selected units in the army. I don't think the U.S.M.C is currently using it yet. A majority of soldiers are still aiming just with their eyes. I think they should make an addon that really makes use of "spec op" units. I mean they have special forces units in Op Flashpoint. But you don't really use any "spec op" tactics. I mean you control them just like a normal infantry unit, only just on a smaller scale.
