Hmm, who voted 10 or more? If you look past page 5, please explain your reasoning. That is a partial point of this thread.

Jeez, just go down to your nearest Balden books or Barnes and Nobles. They have tons of info on this sort of stuff.

War games dealing in immersion and

Ok, I just heard about this new game called "Shadow Warrior". I downloaded the demo off fileplanet and I just started playing it. It seems cool, it takes place in Japan so there must be speech in Japanese. It's about a ninja warrior who fights off people or something like that. Anyway, this game seems cool as hell. Waayahhh! Â Who wants some WANG??!

    Fatsos?

"Lucid dreaming is awesome Only happened to me twice or something I don't think I've ever dreamed an OFP dream, but I've dreamed I was an OFP blackop in real life. In some city. I was hiding behind a bench or something, laying down on the ground. Then the guy I was supposed to assassinate I guess, came, and I raised up and shot him with the OFP HK. Pretty weird that I shot him Have also dreamed another thing, I was hunted by some (three I think) fatsos, in the same city as above. And I yelled for help but no one reacted. So I ran into a store, I thought that they couldn't ignore me there and they had to help me. And they did. They handed me a Uzi and the guy helping me grabbed some sort of pistol. Then the fatsos came in and I emptied a clip into him. I can't believe I'm dreaming of such things, but at least it was self-defense. I think the dream was a bit about that if some one gets robbed on the street, almost no one would help. Most people just ignore cause they don't want to get involved." ---- Quote by iNeo I asked about this in the nightmare thread but got no response. I was wondering what he was talking about when he said "fatsos". What is this "fatso"?

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. If you die, then the game locks you out. You can't play anymore. I would love to see a game like this.

    Just thinking

"i can remember that Col. Blake once said "Commander Gastovski" in a cutscene. so maybe he is a Navy SEAL??" ---- Quote by [TU]$33ker In the cutscene where Col. Blake promotes Armstrong to Leutanant, he introduces Gastovski as "Special Forces". Special Forces is only one unit, that's Army Special Forces. All the rest are "Special Operations Units". "remember the film 'the rock'? when Ed harris goes - 'i was running black ops in china while you were still in nappies' he was a navy seal... i think" ---- Quote by Messiah Hmm, I think Ed Harris was definitely NOT a SEAL in that movie. I'm pretty sure he was Marine Force Recon.

    Just thinking

I think it depends on what kind of units the "Black Ops" really are. I'm pretty sure they are Army "Special Forces" since they say so in the game. But in general Special Forces work in small groups, not alone. I think the "Black Ops" are a very specific specialized unit created out of the Special Forces group. Therefore it would be difficult to determine what their normal combat uniforms look like. But for most situations, standard camoflauge works fine. That's why nearly all units, regular infantry or Specal Operations wear them. It blends in well with the color of the foliage, and works well day or night. I think it's odd that they wear those dark black uniforms though. That is pretty unusual. Dark black is rarely worn as a way of concealment into the darkness as since dark black stands out even in the darkest nights. Dark grey, blue, or green would be a better choice.

    India and pakistan next?

I really don't think anything will come out of this. For the past year or so India and Pakistan have almost gone to war with each other about 2 times already. And it seemed more like just chest beating than anything really. I doubt either actually have the guts to go at it in an all out war. They always seem to be doing this. Â This is nothing. Â Don't worry about it.

War games dealing in immersion and

Keep all the good suggestions coming. Anything such as so been mentioned works. But I am primarily looking for first person shooter type games where you are a ground unit. Not as much flight or tank sims although they still count, real time strategy ones are ok too, but not as much. Think of "Medal of Honor allied assualt" as a model. Anyways, keep em coming.

I hear they are making a sequel to Medal of Honor Allied assault called : Medal of Honor Underground. It takes place before Allied assault and it revolves around the French Resistence. Hopefully it will have the same immersive atmosphere with the French and German languages both in it too.
