  1. CTRG seems to be a (Yes, I know it's blasphemous to reference CoD in Arma but...) Task Force 141 or Rainbow Six-like organisation in that it doesn't just consist of exclusively British operators, judging by the different types of insignia patches that we'll be getting:

    CTRG 15 - GE
    CTRG 15 - IE
    CTRG 15 - PT
    CTRG 15 - UK
    CTRG 15 - US
    CTRG 14 - NATO
    CTRG 15 - CA
    CTRG 15 - NATO

The numbers possibly designate the "security teams"(?) that the operator is a part of, followed by the nationality or affiliation of the wearer. UK, US and NATO are self-explanatory, while CA is probably Canada. No idea what PT, GE, and IE are meant to stand for though.

This would kind of fit into A3's very first storyline & settings back in 2011, which also had CTRG as a multi-national group with characters like Martin Novak (a Canadian with an 'Eastern European' background), Evan Illing (American) and Miller himself (British).

In fact, quite a few things in Apex seem to be inspired by A3's original settings; a Paramilitary faction, Smugglers, Kabeiroi faction (guerrillas?), and Bandits were also in the 2011 settings and were assigned to OPFOR and INDEP. Now we have strings for a Tanoan faction called the Syndikat, which seems to be all of the four rolled together into one faction:

    Syndikat Faction
a criminal organisation composed of armed thugs and ex-paramilitaries

...then again I'm probably extrapolating too much on this stuff. Guess we'll find out soon enough.  ;)

    GE = Germany

    PT = Portugal

  2. Your arrogance is not helping you, neither is your ignorance.

Enfusion isn't being made for A3 or ported to A3. So A4. So unless real changes and performance shows, and BI adpats Enf to ArmA series, is still yet to be known. For now at least.

Please, be more of a rude boy next time. I love throwing things back in people's faces ;)

Go buy a beer and relax.

Sure BI will change A3 engine after releasing the game just for you. They even have a record of that right?

Your words touched my heart and mind to the point I don't need a beer to relax. But thanks for the suggestion.

Also, if you love throwing things back at people's faces you won't stay around for long.  :)

  3. TL:DR:

ARMA 3 performance is a mess. RV engine is a mess. Each patch its band-aid fixes. It's time BI sits down and crunches the RV engine for CPU performance. Don't even get me started on GPU usage. But that goes way deeper than the standard A3 users know of RV engine...

BI gets a pass and excused greatly sometimes on these topics, because at end of the day, we all love and adore ARMA, and it gives us endless pleasures. But, everyone has a limit. For some, the limit / line is being crossed now. BI can continue to ignore it too sadly. The sales and hype around A3, and its "Life" missions alone, make sales out the window. Sales to A2 compared to A3 is insane. It went from selling only to Military Enthusiast and Milsim, to DayZ kids, to Life kids now.. Why fix something when 90% of userbase doesn't care and only plays Wasteland, Exile or Breakingpoint? Flashback's of other devs flashing in my eyes.....

/love you BI, but its' time you wake up and smell the flowers and give RV engine some love and actually crunch with it for weeks. Esp when you now charging $30 for a DLC, when base game is $9 more..... Yea, it's time you care about Performance more.

Your arrogance is not helping you neither is your ignorance. BI is already developing a new engine, code named Enfusion.

  4. Hi, nice improvements.

Could we class vehicle kills differently though? Instead of car, tank and plane kills, why not air, land and naval vehicle kills? Would be more consistent. The icons would need updating of course.

    Regards

  5. 2 April 2016

    Dear BI dev team,

as I am quite sure you know, many of the ArmA titles have a large problem with optimization of computer components. For example, I use a desktop with an FX 6300, GTX 960 and 8gb of ram and ArmA 2 and 3 consistantly use only 30% to 40% of available resources despite much launcher optimization, driver optimization, and computer software optimization. What I ask is that you do one of two things, 1) Optimize ArmA 3's engine to better utilize computer components, 2) Optimize the engine that is to be used to create your next ArmA title. I hope you take this into consideration, and I plan on playing this series until the day that I am no longer free. Keep up the good work!

    Sincerely,

                    Cobus

The Real Virtuality engine has been discontinued. The next ArmA title (if it is ever developed) will use the Enfusion game engine. We will probably only get details about it after Apex.

  6. i think it's obvious that's a bad idea to now make all chemlights much darker suddenly. some mods, like Ravage, use them as they are now as lightsources. i don't see another purpose for them ingame anyways. realism or not. who cares really? in that case anyways...

Might seem obvious but for me it was not because I never played Ravage for example. Again, I don't care what they decide but I can tell this bug has existed even before Zeus was introduced in the game, so you can imagine how frustrating it is to still see it after Eden as been released. Plus it's a bug that's extremely easy to fix.

  7. IRL chemlights dont emit as much light as the game do

Whatever the case, the color of the chem light should not determine the amount of light being emitted. Thus BIS have to choose if they want weaker light (like what's happening with the green one) or stronger (which is the case for the rest of the other chem lights included in the game).
