How would you want a tank to look like?

It would be nice to see scratches and mud on the tank, but no bullet holes and pieces missing. Maybe on the fia tanks the quality good be a bit downgraded with a few bullet holes and dents but nothing too extreme. -
I want a simple addon that just has an apache with normal colors and camo that holds 16 hellfires and no ffars. Just one helocopter.

Thats just a plain one colored desert camo, not the 6 colored camo on your tents.

Yes but the US doesnt camo there AH-64s along with most their helocopters.

I noticed while playing the current version of FFUR the surrender script messes up while playing campaign games and single missions. Your squad leader can decide to surrender if you are outnumbered and forces you to fail even if you could defeat the enemy or your objective is to retreat. I recommend having these three optional configs in the new version: -Multi Game Config (No Animation changes, no added animations, no surrending/ faking death) -Single Game Config (New Animations, New replacement Animations, no surrending/faking death) -Single Game Powerful Config (New Animations, New replacement Animations,surrending/faking death) BTW Are you sure that desert tent picture on the first page is accurate? I thought the US didn't use the 6 color camo on tents. (I maybe I'm wrong)

It would be cool to have better control over your weapons in the new game. For example you can add on scopes and silencers you find in field. You can tape together magazines to shorten reloading time. You gun will JAM or misfire if dirty. You can deploy bipods and tripods on sandbags and on ground. You can cook off grenades and roll them. You can have sniper spotter teams work together via radio. You can put a bullet in the chamber then reload a full magazine to give that extra bullet. You can add heat shields to your gun and tactical handles. More Ideas... Thoughts on this...

Gotta agree on this. What's the point of having 2 mods which cover exactly the same conflict and exactly the same story  The Somalian civil war is a very interesting subject and till now it has not been coverd yet. So why limit yourself to one single operation? Too lazy to do some good research on the conflict? Lack of interest because there aren't uber elite special operations involved in the war? Because it's an African war (there seems to be a taboo on that)? That kinda makes me wonder  Right when people make bhd mods 90% of the work is probally based on the movie and ignores the rest of Operation Restoring Hope. I would personally like to see more of the african warfare clans and low tech armies.

Important question, Is the mod based on the movie or the actual operation restoring hope incident? Because the movie varies a lot from what really happened.

The Bas pbo files are encrypted right? Since BAS no longer makes OFP addons I'm sure if you ask they would let you edit their helocopter addons. For HYK rangers I understand your concern for realism but the textures and models used can be modified to suit your needs if you ask permission. I'm not suggesting that you should just use other peoples work entirely, but that their work can be improved by you to suit your needs.

Sorry to say but most of the stuff you are making is already made. BAS Made Blackhawks and Little Birds CBT Made Humvees in desert camo from the 1985-1995 era HYK Made 93 desert rangers BAS Made Delta force BAS Made Tonal Miltia men which are basically generic african opfor in civilian clothes and vehicles HiJacker Made a BHD island (I guess if you use tonal objects it could look better) Still good work, the most important thing for your mod is a good campaign and figuring out how to make it realistic but not lag.

The UN is good at providing food to starving countries after debating on a plan of action for 2 years then changing their mind half way through. I would never think that the UN has any real military power and that its backbone is other countries' donations. But nothing says shoot me better then a bleach white vehicle cruising across downtown tonal. UN = good props and targets, crappy armed forces. Thats my take. This link has some nice pictures of gimbal's work... I wonder if its floating arround. (There is your white helocopter too)

I think you dont really need an MG on the zodiac because the boat is being used for transport in and out of combat. While a machine gun would be nice, the M2 doesn't seem right for the boat. So if you must use a french mg I recomend not using one at all. BTW The seats look a bit compact to me.

Well, the truth is nobody really values missions. They just want more addons and mods... What the community needs is more missions and campaigns for the new addons. A mod is fun to play with for about 20 in the editor but is even better when it has an excellent campaign. Anyways good job with the mission.

actually the turret coming of is relistic just not that common but it does happen but i dont think the turret will go that high in to the air. how about a list of scripts that are being used that you havent said ? See, like you said that just doesn't happen each time you blow up a tank. Like if you nail the back of an M1A1 the turret isn't going to dettach itself so cleanly in one solid piece. Usualy you end up with charred pieces of metal in large burning chunks if the explosion even has enough power to rip off the turret. That what I'm mean by it not being reallistic, not that turrets don't get blow off tanks. -

The year is 2005 and terrorsism is a threat to the world. In order to create a better relationship with the rest of the world, the Russian Federation released a document telling the location of the cold war era old nuclear facilities in other countries. To Natos surprise their are two hidden nuclear weapons in the nogovan desert that were burried during the 1982 Russian Occupation. Being an unsafe area of the world, Russia digs up the weapons and trasnports them to the airport, now a nuclear disarming facilty. Although when Nato comes for a routine inspection terrorist ambush the facilty by shuting off the power to fubar the alarms, than stealing russian apc's and driving right in pretending to be Russians. They kill all the Russian Soldiers and Nato inspectors than entrench their positions with the nukes. In charge of the terrorists is Ex-Soviet Miltary General Rumov. He knows everying about Russian Miltary equipment and counter terrorism tactics from Russia. He is going to launch a nuclear scud at everon in 48 hours if Nato Occupation does leave the islands. Sinces the base was already such a maxium sercuity facilty breaking in is hard. It is even harder when you must do it yourself and destory the nukes single handedly. Thats your job. You are an american commando and you must destroy the base communication system, anti-aircraft guns, kill Rumov, and of course destroy the scuds. You are up facing 40 guards plus 36 re-enforcements, and a handful of acp's driving arround. You must use your brain to suceed: you can turn off the bases power, find keys to cars, and blow up barrels full of gasoline. But the terrorists have traps and mines and alarms working for them. But once you complete you objectives the 82nd airborne will reige hell on the terrorists. (Quite a nice cutscene)(Note I am almost done with this mission idea, it will be released for my Birthday, the 6/26)
