I dont know why everyone is jumping in their pants over this.. we've seen all that when Crysis came out, including the ingame level editor and the ability to edit terrain geometry like that, its even included in the crysis demo, atleast i remember destroying that level as much as i could :D . Dont get me wrong, i'd love to see a new fps on Cry Engine but this is clearly not it.. -

I remember Crysis having good a.i. atleast they didnt take cover in front of a road sign and it was flexible too, anyway i dont see anything here that cant be achieved with CE2 by a mod team, i think they are just advertising a license. If this company really wants to impress they should try and show something more meaningfull than Cry Engine's neat graphics and on the fly editing, like a city? I always liked Cry engine but Crytek's games were not my type.. -
On the news they said new year's fireworks was the most likely cause? Other than that it could have been a top secret weapon experience or maybe the aliens fired a devastating beam... or maybe some gun nut fired a top secret weapon or devastating alien beam. Anyone screamed "terrorist atack" yet?

The lighting and weather effects are some of Arma's engine bad aspects, the runway/control tower lights look.. very bad, but not just that, the day/night cycles look awfull and night often looks either like lunar surface or some alien planet with those huge stars. Just set the date in the editor to may 7, 4:30 and preview, is the ground.. blue? If you play around with diferent dates and times you will find some really nasty looking times of day.

I went and checked Flashpoint's site, they introduce the PKP "pecheneg", the machinegun of choice amongst the insurgents of Tajikistan, covered with rust, tape and with its bipod missing. Maybe the devs saw it in Arma 2 and found it "cool" but this version of the PK is relatively new.. i dont know if Russia exported any but to find it in the hands of insurgents and covered with rust and tape is.. odd. I know this is just a detail but there are bound to be many more like it and it adds up, it shows how the developers have little care or atention to accuracy. This is something that BIS often do aswell (pick "cool" over authentic) but atleast in a BIS game we can easily change the inaccuracies.. It ends up contrasting heavily with the addon/mod makers, wich usually do their homework and run those extra miles to get things wright.. As for the game itself.. it looks old and the feature list is not very impressive, i think theres plenty of unrealised potential. -
I thought ME2 looked great, then i watched some actual gameplay... and couldnt stop laughing.

OPF still carries my favorite soundtrack.. it just suited the game so well. Excitement, desperation, drama.. it really set the mood. OA's is good.. but not great. -
How about a few more content fixes? The Takistani soldiers dont have blood textures.. thats a major bug.. maybe you could look into the FOV on the BTR-60's driver position? It puts a perfectly good vehicle to waste..

Try using actions instead of switchMove, the later was meant for cutscenes. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA_2:_Actions#SitDown If you switchMove you will have to stop the animation yourself. unit switchMove "" You will probably also have to check if the units are dead to stop the animation.. really, actions are more suitable for that.. -

A "fresh" A2:OA install + 1.56 fixed the missing particle effects from tanks. Old installation was missing particle affects from firing a tanks main gun, it was patched to 1.56 too but had gone thru patch hell (all finals and some betas). After so many patches i could recomend a fresh install to everyone out there.. you only need the latest patch so its no big deal. -
Exploit.. shooting the tires. Vehicle wheels are sensitive in the armaversum, 4 or 5 shots are enough to make the a.i. abandon any wheeled vehicle, even if said vehicle's armor could still provide safety and the range/firepower of a high caliber mounted weapon..

When commanding a tank i cant tell what direction MY tank is facing with this new HUD. The OFP tank-turret indicator in the top left corner helped ALOT, tbh i dont see any advantage to this new HUD over the old one, and it looks worse too.. So.. why? :confused: .

People have been using digital vibrance since OFP days.. but i dont remember Arma 1 looking this dull, my first impression of A2 was how depressing it looked, maybe Chernarus is meant to look boring but Takistan should be a little "warmer". Everything looks so washed out and dull, trees, terrain, houses, like the lighting doesnt bring out the colours, its just white.. When the game saves i get exagerated colours for a split second, then everything goes white and dull again. Maybe something could be done to make the game look better.. -

Nice, straightforward and well paced. I survived with 2 others but one got stuck trying to get healed at the hospital, for the final objective to work (escape with the ural) i had to go there and execute him. I found a typo with the last task "Esacpe with the ural" wich is not a ural btw. Fun mission, thanks. -

Yes but with "lite" you get low resolution asian faces mixed with normal ones on the US soldiers.. not cool imo. It should be possible to disable the DLC's in the expantions menu or something.. -

No, the solution is to shoot them all before you get into town, then wait 5 minuts for the driver to manuever around the house, over the fences and whatnot, in the meantime you can make coffee, tea.. -

If you really have to ask.. Add the invulnerable teamates.. i never thought i would experience something like that in a BIS game, to me its just too scripted and "action" oriented. -
