Y2K3 - Updated Ofp Config.
Heavy Metal replied to Pappy Boyington's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Pappy, I am getting an error after install. It happens when I boot up and I get the old BIS model for the RPG7 in the game. The error is: No Entry Y2K3Custom-PE-NXB.bin/CFGWeapons.ICPrpg7vLauncher. And I downloaded all the ORCS stuff and installed it? What do I need to do to fix this? -
Sorry, but Rangers were wearing level-pocketed woodland camo BDU's in the late '80's. Â They must have dumped OD slant-pocketed BDU's in the mid-'80's, before I enlisted, because I remember seeing plenty of pictures of Rangers in OD slant-pocketed BDU's in the early-'80's. Technically, the Slant Pockets were called Jungle Fatigues or OG 107's. Â These were made from Rip-Stop cotton. The Pickle suit was the OG 106 with the level pockets and no pockets on the bottom of the jacket so it could be worn tucked into the trousers. Â These were a polycotton twill IIRC and sutiable only for non-tropical climates. The Rangers wore jungle fatigues untill the Ripstop BDU's came out as the standard weight Twill BDU's sucked big time in the heat (I know!) The Jungle Fatigues were re-issued after Greneda due to heat casualities as a stop gap untill the hot weather BDU's were developed.

I wonder if there is a way to make them ricochette? Proabally require changing the engine.

750mm wont get it thru the frontal armor on an M1A1 or an M1A2. I am familiar with this incident. (BTW, I have served in the 1/150th ACR so I know a bit about the M1 series.) It was what is known as a 'golden BB'. It hit at a unusually thin spot on the side armor and the copper slug from thcone actually penetrated into the crew compartment. If it hadn't hit the breaker box, it would have not immobilized the tank anyway, the vehicle was easily repaired. The crew was completely uninjured, (depiste one crew member being slightly grazed on his vest). This hardly can be construed as evidence of some congenetial defect in the Abrams design.
-
Where did I last hear someone say that? Oh yeah.. about the M1. The same M1's getting ripped up by RPG-7's in Iraq. No wonder so many people used to beleive they were the indesturctable Uber tanks. Thank god for Challenger 2s is all I'll say. What drugs are you on? The M-1's pretty much shrug off the RPG-7 rounds like popcorn. Hell! I have friends over there in Brads that have taken RPG hits with no loss of mobility!

Actually the RPK-74 uses quad-stack 60 round magazines (very new) and 45 round double stack magazines. No production drums exist for it. Of coures with ammo being much lighter, the gunner can carry a larger load than he could for the RPK-47.
-
You are right TA-50, the 240 is a plt level asset like the M-60 before it. IIRC, the 60 usually floated back and forth to stay with the overwatch element most of the time. I am only thinking in this context of keeping the playing field level. By that token, the PKM should also proabally be a Plt level asset and the russian Squad Automatic should be the RPK-74 as it is the analog (albiet a clearly inferior one as it has no quick change barrel) to the SAW. Quick, now sombody add a barrel change mod/cookoff feature to OFP!
-
You are exactly right, it is a designated marksmans rifle.
-
Hey Kurayami, I can give you another option, replace the 5.56 M-249 SAW with the 7.62 M-240 that replaced the M-60. It should be a more even match for the PKM.
-
No, the M-21 had many match accurizing tricks done to it. For example, a match grade barrel as opposed to its military barrel and a glass bedded stock. The ART-2 scope on the M-21 is superior to the pso-1 scope on the original Dragunov.
-
The actual ballistic performance of the 7.62 NATO and the 7.62X54r round the SVD uses are so close to one another, there should be no modeled difference in trajectory or terminal performance. Both shoot a 145-150 grain projectile at 2850 to 2900 fps. (unless you are talking match ammo in the 7.62 NATO) The 7.62 Nato projectile is .308 in diameter and the 7.62x54r round projectile is .311 in diameter. The reason the SVD magazine is limited to 10 rounds is due to the limitations of using a rimmed cartridge.

I could not disagree more with the above statement. The M249 SAW has a loaded weight of nearly 24 pounds when loaded with a 200 round box of linked rounds. Its cyclic rate of fire is 725 rounds per minute when the gas regulator is set in the normal position(where is should be left 99.9 percent of the time) The M16A2 has a loaded weight of 8.8lbs with a 30 round magazine. Its cyclic rate of fire is 750-800rpm (note cyclic rate is a theoretical measure given infinite ammo and no mag changes it is usefull in comparing controlability and is not to be confused with the practical rate of fire). The SAW actually has a lower cyclic rate of fire than the M-16 series at over twice the weight. The recoil impulse of the M-249 is much lower. I can also vouch for this from personal experience with both weapons systems as an Armorer several years ago

That's funny, before I had all my Army fellas complaining that the M2 needed a barrel recoil of about 1 - 1/12 inches. Thats still a lot less than it does at the moment And it just dont seem natural having the barrel jumping back and fourth within the outer casing... The M2 is recoil operated. The barrel should recoil inside the sleeve.

Change "c8xmag" to "C8X_magazines" and the problem should be solved. So it should look like this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> class EECP_Ext { list[]={ "C8X_russ", "C8X_usmc", "C8X_magazines", "SUCHrus", "SUCHusmc", "CBT_Brad", "CBT_Brad_Scripts", "CBT_Crew", "CBT_Misc", "clsa_air", "csla_arm", "RHS_T55Pack_Scripts", "RHS_Crew" }; }; What file did you make this edit to?
-
"cannot load mission, missing addons: c8x_magazines" even when I make a copy of c8xmag and rename it c8x_magazines, I still get the above error sometimes.
-
Hey AvonLady! I noticed you are now updating your OFP site again. Is this a sign of more good things to come?

War Addons that noone has made yet
Heavy Metal replied to BoweryBaker's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
MKT Mobile Kitchen Trailer if I remember correctly. Need one set up in a chow line. If you want to kill soldiers, an MKT is the most effective way to do it! P.S. I actually liked our mess section and thought the MKT wass cool as hell! -
Why is the ballistic-addons site keep coming up as a dead link?
-
Did what you said, that fixed it.
-
Thanks for the feedback.
-
Nevermind, I seemed to have fixed it. However, I do get the error can't find cbt_misc at the start of the mission and it is in both addon folders.

I am having a problem during the single player mission "Battlefields" crashing to the desktop after about 5 minutes. It gives no warning, it just crashes to the desktop.
