You confused him with talk about France. Of course a publisher for Germany isn`t going to do any translation into French. And a release through the internet can and probably will be done by BIS\IDEA on its own without any CD publishers. All that you should have asked him was if the German version will besides the translated German files include also the original English files somewhere (meaning no extra work for them). If so then if release dates in our countries will be further away we can order ArmA on Amazon.de pay some extra for shipping and then revert the game into English by applying english string files manualy (or by option maybe if it is included but I would doubt it).

Keep it free. Any imposed central planning would just create an own set of problems and would slow down the addon/mod making while ultimetley solving nothing. To force modds into this kind of slavery where they make a product but then have only very little control over it (no decision on release date plus you mention ultimatly BIS could redefine it) is grossy unfair. Modders themselves will (and have) in a competitive modd market with countless mods avaliable realise a popularity of their mod is partly dependant on the accesibily and ease of use and will improve that element the more mods competing for "customers" are there. And the most modds will appear where modd making is most free. To force them into a Kolhoz to prevent a minor trouble a user might have finding, updating or choosing the right modd (that has been satisfactory adressed already anyway) is extremley selfish. Central control doesn`t work. Or do I have to remind you of USSR`s grain imports?

In OFP where it is a fan created mod CTI means Conquer The Island. BIS`s CTI will no doubt be different from fan created CTIs. But without a doubt OFP`s CTIs will be ported to ArmA as well. And in my opinion theese fan made CTIs are likely to very soon overshoot BIS`s CTI in terms of popularity. Just like today in OFP not on many servers coops and CTFs that came with the game are played. Instead more advanced (and hardcore) fan created coop and CTF missions are played.

ArmA will be as fast as anything else as long as you stick to the fast game modes like Death Match.

An armor on advance in a combat zone ussually takes a wedge formation. Wedge is a good compromise because all of the tanks can shoot in front of them relativley well and at least half of them can engage the enemy on the right and the other half can return fire to their left. Line formation is only taken when you know for sure that the enemy is right in front of you and you are about to assault it as it is the best formation for head on head charges as all the tanks can shoot anywhere in front of them, but it leaves the flanks very exposed as only one tank has unobstructed view of the left/right side. Echelon right/left formation is taken when passing a position to your right/left that you sucpect the enemy could prepeare an ambush in as it allows all of the tanks a clear view to their right/left. A column formation is only taken when the terrain does not allow any other formations or outside the combat zone.
