Well just completed it, chechnya version with a few mods running (ASR AI, blastcore, JSRS, ST Movement, Truemods, VTACS) And i must say, very well done! going to play again his week i think. got 82% because bulov was caught in the crossfire (hiding on a watertower lol). only 1 bug on this playthrough. a very minor one. spark squad always report no enemy contact even though they are being engaged. cheers for the hours of fun.
  2. instead of turning around and going back to base after dropping me off the bmp drove into the target town and the ai BMP crew managed to kill all chechens on foot. the downloads disabled by the author. But did some more today and no problems at all, really top notch ;)
  3. Had another try at this but i had a few bugs so had to quit. I was playing chechnya version with just the addons required, nothing else. In the 2nd mission, clear the town I was dropped of south of the objective by a BMP, i got out and then the BMP charged into the town, crew turned out - the BMP got hit by an RPG and the crew disembarked, and then killed all AI but 1 and then ran off into the woods. In the 3rd mission i couldn't find the breifcase and all the camps were placed in trees so i couldnt enter the tents with sandbags sticking up everywhere, then the heli crashed into a tree (i cant download VTACS anywhere!), then i thought screw the briefcase ill drive back to base but nothing happened when i got there. gonna try again now but running some other stuff (truemods, JSRS, Blastcore and ASR AI) One thing i dont like about the campaign is i cant choose my loadout in enough detail, what if i want a groza sd scope with RPG, and what about taking flares and different grenades? but other than that, great campaign!!! thanks :)
  4. i have set up some troops with the HCM, it all works but all the icons are 'infantry squad ones' is it possible to change the icons like, repair team and recon etc?

    well i disabled everything but my SLX folder but still had it, so i redownloaded it and deleted the old folder and it works fine now. it could have been an old version or some other addon in there. thanks anyway.

    Hi, i recently installed slx again, i forgot how good it was, but it kept crashing so i removed the troublesome pbo's and everything is fine. except one thing - after a fire fight there are enemy soldiers, and my soldiers who are dead, but are still standing in the aim position, i shoot at them and nothing happens they are just 'frozen' - does anyone get this issue and if so what pbo's do i need to remove?

  11. Hi, I have been trying to use the sec ops module for some instant action type stuff, but i think it is broken. I place down a squad, sync it to a sec ops module preview the mission it then gives me an objective but when I get there it says 'another unit has completed this' or 'abort the mission' I have tried again and again and it does this every time I have tried with mods, without, on chernarus, on takistan and custom maps. thanks in advance for any help.
  12. Is there something im missing here? I have been waiting for PR a long time and am really looking forward to it. I understand that you want only want quality missions as this does ruin MP alot in arma when objectives are broken and what not. I agree with having official servers as this is a good thing but... But are you saying if I open PR, save a mission with a PR vehicle or item - this is illegal? Or if I open PR, create a mission and host it online - this is illegal? What if i want to play PR in private with some friends to test it before we go online as a squad? Or would the mod not allow this by changing the menus and/or not allowing me to join an 'illegal' server? I've read through but its just a confusing mass of this and that and i dont understand, can some one please explain what it is 1. everyone is arguing over exactly 2. what i can and cant do specificly cheers also if someone brought in lawyers about playing a game wrong that is just pathetic because much worse is going on in the world and on the internet and no-one is losing any money.

    Theres ArmA 2 stuff, i mean the community awards got arma 2 wallet, shirt, bag etc. if there was a shop with t shirts, caps, patches (airsoft use anyone) i would buy it all along with maps, i need one of takistan best moment ever - i was paying for some stuff at a PX in germany and someone (ashrac) was like OMG u play arma 2 how u get wallet and found out we both play on the same Sahrani life community, was pretty ausome edit: there were arma 2 zippos aswell, man we need merchandise!

    the first thing id do is make a mission with 10,000 re spawning enemy's, give my self a 1000lb gbu firing machine gun and get a kill to death of 1 million. also no, as this wouldnt work in most arma scenarios.

    That was really fun game, apart from a hacker but he was removed about 2 minuets in so nothing to worry about. but maybe use dooacs in future to stop them? was fun anyway being able to just fight with all the hardware from the start.

Im trying to put my finger on it, i just this minute finished resistance again, and i think its a number of things, but i cant decide exactly - characters, i was actually sad when victor died, when miles died i didnt care. - its less complicated - sounds are better - colours are nicer - when you shoot someone and hear that thud and they fall down - the way vehicles go all mangled not just blackened - dont get frustrated with dumb ai and bugs as much (less objects to get stuck on in ofp?) - might not be as intelligent but they actually do what there told. - ballistics (things are less accurate - rockets are better) - no grass layer thing - recoil is nicer i cant really think - but i do prefer it. arma 2 is just nicer to look at and has some pretty cool features like back up sights, gear screen, artillery, backpacks, lights etc. offtopic: i really hope arma 3 has a resistance style campaign with weapon pools and what not.
  19. -The GUI, grey, simple and unintruding. -no annoying quick command thing that auto pops up. -When you fire an RPG or LAW, the sounds and smoke actually feel like you are there. -pistols were useful. -faster movement when weapon raised. -the immersion value, when I play OFP, it feels like I am there, when I play arma and arma 2 it feels like I am in a 3d artificial world. -the resistance campaign, where stealing those last few heavy weapons into a ural with approaching enemy's and setting up ambushes -everything PvPscene said -fights lasted longer, with arma and arma 2 tank and infantry battles are always over quick with ai accuracy being to great. in ofp tank battles were epic as you would be blasting away at each other from 2km for a while (like that scene from red dawn). -equal factions, when the Russians and Americans met on the field it was 50/50 but now it always seems i have Apaches, thermal sights, advanced tanks etc and im fighting against some rusted ww2 tank and some men armed with ak-47's

  21. there we go then, can do with without mods for free anyway. i remember the mission for arma 1 where you had to make it to cayo, and if u were infected u could jump and stuff - that was cool.
  22. If it was a realistic zombie thing, that would be cool. you are a soldier and you have to respond, co-op games would be good where u have to contain the infection etc, but all they would really need is a few zombie models (there was some on arma1) and the community could make anything.

    mission makers, please, for the love of god!

    There isnt actually any dedicated small co-op servers for arma 2. yes there are clans, but i dont want to join one, I want it to be like OFP where theres always a small co-op (like desert ambush) being hosted that you can play. I know its up to people hosting servers and what not, but i so miss the dedicated small co-op servers (like the armaholic one for arma1 and there was another one i used to play but cant remember) there are loads of good coops, sanders mission pack for example. I do like warfare and domination but they get boring after a bit. and everyone always 'lone-wolfs' - especially since there the only thing that ever played. no-respawn small co-ops is the way to go.
