    Never tried to make an island before, so I thought I'd give this a try. It seems fairly idiot-proof, although I got confussed by not placing my island folder in the P-drive to start with. After correcting that everything went fine until step 26, where the height map didn't show up in Visitor. Not quite sure what I've done wrong, I've deleted everything, ensured all the paths are correct (including RVMAT files) and tried again 3 times and still got the same result... Anyway, I'm sure it will work for others. Although if anyone has any ideas where I've gone it would be much appreciated Â

    A GL is a grenade launcher Anyway, I think you may be refering to the original or maybe second pack, where the default weapon was either a FN FAL or a G3 (which I personally prefered to the M16A1). As for the class names and unsual helmets, I don't know.

    Great work with the pack Just an idea for the huey, but any chance in a version without any markings? Like a universal one that could be used by PMCs or even SF. Could be very useful.
  5. Sorry, my mistake. I was refering to the AI (If you order a teammate to place a charge, it will explode after 30 seconds, whether you tell him to set a timer or not), but I've just realised the same thing happens in un-modded ArmA. I hadn't noticed it before now.
  6. I don't know if this is intended, but the SpecOps are equiped with time-bombs rather than regular pipe-bomb satchel charges. Not a huge problem, but it would make some of the CWC missions difficult if it's still there in the full version. Having charges detonate automatically after 2 minutes makes it hard to synchronize your attacks.
  7. Agreed. It gives the island a dry, autumn feeling, which I think suits the open fields and mountains well. I always disliked the lush, green of north Sahrani. This faded brown colour gives Malden more of a cold war atmosphere IMHO. I just wish there was a ghillie suit to match it

    Well, you can't get out without ejecting (and that throws you in the air like a ejector seat), then once you're on the ground, you can't get back in it. At the moment it's good for a bit of eyecandy and not much else really. Still, its nice to have a civvy aircraft.

    Only one  I imagine a lot of people bought the Czech/German version, then the English, and then Combat Operations, as there was such a large time game between he releases.

  12. Well, I agree. Although I'm not and addon maker, and also have never posted a request in these forums, I think that a new sub forum would be better than the current 'Addon request' thread. Dispite the request thread, some people still post requests as seperate threads for various reasons. I'm fairly sure one of these reasons is confussion, people join the forum, and don't know exactly where to post for a request. If there was a seperate sub-forum, there would be no more confussion. It would be obvious. Secondly, such a sub forum would allow more detailed discussion of addon ideas. Finding a discussion about a specific request in the current thread is near impossible, given its 43 pages. You can't use the forum search in indiviual threads either. A seperate thread for each request would quickly highlight the more popular ideas (more posts, more often, so the topic would be higher in the subforum). Should someone be looking for an addon to make, they would be able to find what people wanted most. I personally wouldn't have much use for it, but I think it could benefit a fair few people.

    I must just really suck at the tanks in COD2 then  Although I did have developer 2 mode on. I think i would have put BIA:Earned in Blood on there. Playing on realistic mode, I found that much harder than Farcry or GTA:SA. Especially the last level. Up against 5 tanks and shedloads of infantry in a very small space, plus then taking on more infantry and a 88 without a save inbetween. Oh, and having the antitank weapons on the other side of the map, in an area with nearly no cover, and needing 3 or more shots to take out a tank. I finished that one with everyone in my squad except me dead after several months of trying.

    Thats a good point. The tank missions on veteren mode are damn near impossible. Absolutly no cover, outnumbered heavily, and you can't even see the enemy until you're right on top of them. Even on the easiest setting, that mission would still end with only you and your commander's tank alive on the battlefield. Infantry ones weren't too bad. You've got to remember that in 95% of the firefights, there is a limit to how many enemies there are. They will keep coming back for a while, but eventually the flow of reinforcements will stop. So take your time, keep your distance and proceed only when the area is clear.

    It probably means completing it 100%. As in finding every horseshoe, shell, graffiti tag etc. Without a walkthough thats pretty damn hard.

    That is normally an addon conflict. It happens with rifles when a new v1.08 compatible addon is in the addons folder. Does the same thing happen with any other rifles in the game? Either way, try removing all unofficial addons from your addon folder and mod folder except Skavens.

    I based my post off COD2 for the PC, as I havn't played the others in a long time. From what I understand COD3 is just a glorified COD2 put on the consoles, with different levels and not much else. The point is still the same. If you source whether WW2 soldiers carried 2 weapons or not on COD games, then surely that means that in reality you can run forever without getting exhausted, kill someone with a single strike of your rifle butt, and recover from any type of wound in the space of 5 seconds if you hide round a corner during a fire fight. Aswell as carry a 4.32 kg Garand, 200 rounds of 7.62mm ammo, a 8.8 kg BAR, and a further 200 rounds of 7.62mm, this time in box mags. Added onto that the seemingly endless supply of TNT, 4 hand grenades, 4 smoke grenades, and all the gear you would be carrying in reality. Oh, and binoculars. They may be the most realistic games you've played for PS2, but that doesn't nessesarily make them realistic. The most realistic game I've ever played for the GameCube was Super Monkey Ball. See my point?
