Well the new weapons willl have a little more balance i feel personally in the dispersion, while the new optics and (oxy applied) ones i think, seem to give a bit more distinction between weapons, but of course, were working on the island at the mo, but the guns when done, cwmod are getting too, -
Hey Spad, remember me hehe, ill have to chat to u cos, ur using some of my old textures and stuff, but ive got some nicer newer ones i didnt finish that u can have. Truth is tho, there not like totally revolutionary, but they are better, based around the civilian ofp model, and edited (they are a nicer base) i have a english rifle men, and a KGL riflemen, and a french linesman u can have for yer mod, speak to me on msn, ill rake them out for ya. Im leading an 1860s mod now spad, http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....3;st=60 focussed around civil war, wild west, and mexican french intervention, but i could give ya some of my base napoleonic stuff applied to the newer models, that u could maybe get some help with, so talk to me baby.

1. If im mucking about its usually to make quick fights in the editor, 2 There should be more work for customisation of islands (and unit improvements, lods, geolods etc) 3 Historic (but in a capacity managable by the ofp engine) 4 Historical (but this is very perceptible) Yeah new anims will obviously help, and things like honing what there is, to be honest while expanding units i think is useful for cwmod and mission editors etc, i think definately energy should be spent on fine tuning and improving whats there. and yeah i should add, i only did some napoleonic like 'guy' and some others never released, it is spad, and others that did the napoleonic mod just in case oad u thought that was me etc -

Yeah wounded anims etc would be amazing, blood textures tho, i dont think would limit the frame rates for cwmod too much either, but it would be a big task for cwmod to apply them to all the units they'd done so far, (like 1 - 3 wks) probably, so its all about priorities. -
Yeah well Harley, that may well be a good idea for the era of that whole mexican part, interestingy tho they have an mg42 in fistful of dynamite as well (god knows why) which is totally out of era, but ah well still a cool movie, tho the italian version has 15mins more, where u actually get to see the villain of that movie (be a villain) as he is rather faceless in the movie. In any case yep, tho it would be great to have some of hte mexican revolutionary stuff past 1900 where the wild bunch is set *sniff sniff* but that said, we can always do that eventually. Ill focus first tho on our civil war phase, that takes place on the 'Bitter Island' My personal thinking is that the campaign should focus on skirmishes taking place, rather than an attempt to recreat historical battles, (massive prob really with ofp engine for a start) but also, i think with epic music (like we have er) and some cool missions and characters we will still be able to bring an epic scope. The idea is that u play as the man with no name, who as a young man enlists in the civil war, (and then he'll bless desert and become a mercenary) ending his days in the mexican struggle - something like that, but if u have ANY ideas for campaign storylines, etc, start talking, cos id love to hear em' and they may well be better than ours.

Yeah ur right, well i give them as examples, wildbunch i think is set a little earlier tho than 1910, but truth be told, i refer in general to the mexican unrest of the 1880s (when we analyse that, in fact u guys on the thread could too) we can determine the most violent era of mexican strife, during the later 19th century to do, personally i think the french intervention would be the best (certainly before 1910) but there were corrupt mexican governments facing inscurrection before and after that also.

Aye well there are 3 phases for this mod, that cover different periods roughly, one is the 1820s - 60s early wild west (US - Mexican war, Texas - ie. Alamo as well as others) The other is 1860s civil war & wild west, (eg. movies - good the bad and the ugly) Then the 1880s approximately, covering mexican civil war, french intervention, mercenaries etc (eg. movies, duck you suckers or also called fistful of dynamite, or wildbunch) We would love to have our central character progress thru campaigns for each phase, in a kinda epic journey (making him an old dude by the end of it huh) but we'll just have to see. At the moment its the second phase, the civil war one that is most complete, i think we'll release them in phases like that rather than wait. We got lots of rebel soldiers and union covered, with some elite regiments for either, and enuf variety of NCOS to cover em with some detail, that and a good healthy variety of cowboys and an automatic face pack that i keep adding too, it will probably go over 60+ but we love variety right. So um, its the island 'Bitter Island' that is keeping us back, cos thats a big effort, but u dudes, dont fear, i aint gonna stall it, if the island takes too long, ill release a beta, (basically just the release without the island) So someone said mexicans? u bet, there will be a few, and indians, well i love indians, damn cool, so sure we'll get those guys in too. :P Thing is mods give yer interest for a wee while without missions, but they really need em' so if ur interested in making missions etc, talk to me

Yeah most weapons are remodelled completely, any others are modelled to be fixed, and all are retextured, and recoded, with new optics, and the AI is also recoded to use them (since before they lacked any distance ai codes) and yep that includes dispersion which i say imo is now a lot more accurate to the weapons specifications, and hence you will notice that weapons feel a little better. Pistols are not enormously accurate during this time, but they were too innacurate before. As regards to verandas, yeah we'll implement those. As for wooden walkways, well why not i'll look into that. The first island, is a rework of Everon, new textures and objects, and new towns etc... Basically it features a Gold mine, a civil war era fort, a series of towns, (with a northern capital known for its decadence) and a southern capital with a docks) The idea is this is a strategically important island, with gold desposits, sitting off the coast, of a southern state during the civil war, and is a muddy corrupt wasteland, where life is cheap...

Hey Phil, yeah ur work is pioneering there is no denial of that, all i did was adjust the textures and positioning of the legs (attaching some vertices to make the horse look more lifelike in its leg movements) plus getting an animator to help with new rider anims. But that said, u are 'the man' and i like ur animals also, if its alright id love to include them in this mod, and if u fancy any betas from the mod, including ur finished horse, ur more than welcome. So my salute to you phil, for some excellent work

Hey Prof, Ur right a bit there, but it is tongue in cheek, nobody dislikes anyone really here (okay apart from me) But seriously its good, and there is cooperation between these 2 mods, for my part there are many things were sharing, and theres many things were not making as to leave cwmod its effective agenda, but even if we do get ahead in areas, we wont let cwmod trail behind, or be a real rival, we'd help them or share with them things, sure well negotiate deals etc, but if they really need certain things, we wouldnt deny it to cwmod. Likewise cwmod has expertise in area it helps us with also, so its mutually beneficial, and its amazing we have 2 period mods, with different set agendas. So its friendly rivalry, and just me being sarcastic and impertinent, combined with triglavs rebuttals and pickets (whatever he does) but none of it is serious, and we hope to help cwmod in a number of ways. but sure, it does come with friendly, comical or even bemusing exchanges. (for all intended purposes i consider triglav a friend on my msn) so its all good -

Man when u told me that on msn, about ur girlfriend etc, i thought u meant u had modelled ur balcony and textured it for ofp! LOL Anyway its not as irrelevant as the weird dream i had, about the 'black cat' Its weird, but basically i dreamt i was getting pursued by this creature called the black cat, but he wasnt a cat, it was pure black, almost like a black hole, it reflected no light, cast no shadow, was 6 foot tall, humonoid, and for eyes, it had what looked like adam wests eyebrows on the batman costume (but white) and it made a murmering high pitch sound (like a miow) and the idea of the curse is that it comes for u to recieve its due for something uve gained, but did not ask for. or something like that, gave me a hell of a fright -

Thats the thing about mod teams SPQR there all about egoes and personalities as well as editing, I mean u'd suggest im an egoist, but theres those that would suggest counter about cwmods triglav, or would suggest even picket (god forbid) is gimpish, I aint trying to convince u to love me lol SPQR so u aint breaking my heart. All mods have 'pleasure slaves' and those who dont like em' One good thing mod leaders learn to do, is to appear like the 'common man', or the populist, im not so good at that, but thats not why people work in my mod or with me spqr *shrugs* so forgive me if i dont care. In any case, we are cooperating cwmod and house divided where it counts... so let us not make push go to shove lol cos thats in nobodies interest PS - We are actually making a red indian unit SPQR because of a deal with sengir lol, and btw u dont edit RTW do ya? cos if so then we know each other (tho me under a different alias for RTW) -
Railroads, yeah that would rock totally, but not in the first release, cos after all u guys will be waiting several millenia for that to happen lol. What is done so far is about like what popka says, 1 about 100+ good looking units with blood textures including those cav, and about 16 weapons, and automatic bayoneting too. 2 New custom GUI including 14 music tracks in the editor 3 A new custom island, (this is the one taking time, so if ur a map maker, or fancy having a go at object making, talk to me) 4 Several Single missions (we'd love a campaign but... will there be time) I think the first release will be a public beta, v0.9 or something and it should be in several weeks, things feel done, its just the little things that kinda drag it out, like for example, On the map i import custom objects, say new buildings etc, it all works fine and lovely, but... no wee logo appears on the editor map, so is that in the map cpp, or do u fix that with the editor? little things like that really

lol how wonderful triglav, we find ourselves agreeing True to form actually me and triglav squabble or tease, but we have a kind of mutual comedy about it, (well im sure it is) so there is no real hard feelings And picket, thats just divine comedy, what u claim, try making a decent unit and see how long it takes, u can make a first lod (hence make a screen) thats just to keep people up to date, and to encourage their participation in dicussion of the addons and wip, but to code, to do other stuff takes longer. Look how long it takes mods out there, so you have no right lol to judge the speed with which addon teams make their work... cos trust me, it takes a lot less time to make an island with mostly bis models using wrp tool and a semi campaign, than it does to model and texture... House Divided has about 100 units, split between, cowboys, confederacy, union and civilians, all with blood textures, not to mention all the stuff we've done that were handing over to u guys, like the weapons, no mean feat. Sarcasm has a point, but naivity picket does not... -

lol no the way to do it to get bum mapped into redoing it all, then getting told it wont be used, then being in charge of a mod, recruited, and coup de tat'd, then leaving, starting a new mod, and sharing work... Anway ive introduced some positive concepts to cwmod, like u know, 'lods' or geo lods... so u gotta thank me for some stuff triglav In any case, the work weve done is not an edit of cwmod lol, its usage of the stuff we edited for cwmod, that wasnt used, with some extra furnishings But most of our stuff is completely original, and that is most, which given the stuff were sharing with ya, more than pays the cost of what we are using, cos i know how difficult it is to make a compass hehe -

yeah well cwmod has enuf half made addons to accomodate a half made horse muhahaha J/k aside, the horse is a vehicle (ofp classed) so technically as far as i understand it cant be animated in ofpanim. Now at the moment pchorse had the horses legs in weird positions (mind when it was released in cz.info) with a retexture and the legs moved into more natural poisitons (and with remodelled proportions) it does look a lot more natural, and u know how the legs would move back and forward (in a crude ofp vehicle animation) well with the legs adusted it actually looks pretty decent, (and im really picky about addons so) i think ull be impressed, but im doing this as a stop gap till the finished horse is done. As regards the bayonet script with no lag, the compromise with that it that well for example, with House Divided were using a variant of another mods bayonet script (from korea mod) i think thats the one, that causes no lag, but is not 'quite' as aggressive as this bayonet ai, but is the one that reportedly causes no lag. That said, the sooner we can implement that new bayonet script the better, but have u guys made any progress on that yet? -
That aint a stupid question lol, Right well the horses are a vehicle, which means they cant be animated but parts can move, and the legs are placed like they are in motion, (this is an edited version of the pchorse) but with the legs and horse proportions remodelled and texture edited, so basically ive got to admit, when the horse moves, and cos of its geo lod wobble (slight) it looks like it is actually galloping. I wont lie its not gonna make u gush with animated beaty lol, but u will look at it and go hmm, a little cheesy but hey it works And if that means we have cav working ingame then its worth it that said the rider can be animated, and were working on that the now, so with that combined they should look pretty nifty. There is a melee script some boys worked on (all credits will go, as this is a coop project, but ive lost the names on my head right now) so then we can have sword attacks as well. Please feel free to ask any more questions, otherwise we'll be on page 2 of the forum by tomorrow lol

here is some very early screens of 'dragoon' cavalry, with muskets, yeah the rider is like a passenger, so u can shoot him off the horse, or u can shoot the horse and the rider is alive, and yeah the AI uses them to shoot, and thanx to me? no not at all, this is a beta of a work in progress between us, cwmod and some volanteers, tho cos they been sitting on the beta (cos heck we all have lives) i went and spruced up the test beta a bit, so we'll see if it gets or is still getting done, and if not then well anyway im babbling, heres a pic, enjoy http://img167.echo.cx/my.php?image=earlytest014ng.jpg
