Looks like the power in Finland has gone back to who it belongs, boys... Didn´t vote for her, anyway... (Finnish Politics)
-
Hey, I love wreckage!
-
Ah, always with the surprises and secrecy... BIS are my favorite game devs ever, keep it up!
-
I think you´ll be disappointed by nuclear weapons in OFP... but anyway, IMO the best news site is ofp.gamezone.cz And welcome
-
Yeah, there´s no town or island in OFP that has enough buildings for that many people...how many people do you reckon live on Nogova? (He was talking about Everon but I´d like to know)
-
Following the same line of reasoning, you don´t need weapon models, just black sticks with the weapon´s name on them and you don´t need helmets on your soldier models since the OFP engine doesn´t give you more armor if you use them anyway...

Static workaround for wheeled vehicles

Agree. -
BTW Morton isn´t the biggest town on Everon. There are other missions besides the Morton assault...What about the mission "Counterstrike" on Kolgujev, the last Armstrong mission in the 1985 campaign? Is it possible that a regular infantry squad without parachute training is paradropped onto Kolgujev and is followed up by M113s from the sea??? Wouldn´t that job better be left for Marines? The M113 is only designed for crossing rivers, anyway...? Hell, I don´t know

Man, I´m so depressed right now... I´d PAY for those improvements for PC!
-
They dont need to be ragdoll, all u need are 2d lines, Pilots would get the idea not to fly into them, and if they do they would crash. And what happens to the lines when a helicopter crashes into them!? That´s what I´m talking about.
-
Good idea!
-
Totally agree. Booyah (I just love that word...)
-
Yeah it´s nice, but it could be a bit louder...

Yeah...

Joint ammo and mag project (jam)

Calibre names, absolutely! -
Cool idea

Why would you use monster Mi-24s to ferry troops if you already have Mi-28s to provide cover and shoot tanks up? Use Mi-8s, they´re better suited for transporting troops and more men fit in them.
-
I don´t know...as I understand it, the NATO base on malden didn´t have any warships, just PBRs for troop transport and some kind of transports for tanks (probably the LSTs). About the heavy equipment...U.S forces had already established a beachhead, that´s where the two Abrams came from. Anyway, I don´t think U.S forces would hit the town with an artillery bombardment, they have minimal information about the enemy and know that there are a lot of friendly civilians in the town! Besides, BIS don´t like artillery. (why didn´t they just shell the crap out of the first Scud site on Kolgujev, or add it to the radio support list!?) So BIS got the number of troops in the town about right...except for officers, which there are a lot of for gameplay and identification reasons.
-
You call Mogadishu a village? I think BIS should concentrate on important engine issues instead of eye candy.
-
Gimme more! For example, how could the U.S assault on Morton, the first mission in the 1985 campaign, be organized? What kind of armor and infantry would the Soviets have to guard a town the size of Morton? How many officers would there be? Etc. I´d like to learn more about what this kind of stuff for my missions. Btw the "realistic bases" or somesuch document on OFPEC is great, it covers base defenses, transport, patrols and more. Great stuff.
-
Me too, anyone got sources? Looking mainly for 1985 era squad composition.
-
Yes, infantry combat really is supposed to be the heart of OFP, all aircraft (especially planes) are, more or less, bonuses. BIS never said that OFP is some kind of flight simulator, wonder why they only made a Cessna and a simple A10 for OFP 1.0? The Su-25 is only an A-10 clone anyway, and has probably been made to balance the game.
-
A straight, honest answer, just the way I like it!
-
I check the RHS site every day, and I was wondering why you never update it with new screenies? All the T-55 pics I´ve seen the last couple of weeks have been on the OFP or RHS forums. Anyway, can´t wait for the release!
