    I know, and even if you release it as "only for people with experience" everyone will try it and bitch about it when they can´t get it to work Maybe it was a really bad idea after all...I hope you could make an auto-patcher.

    About the release of 1.1, there are many ways to handle it. Of course, no one, 56k or otherwise, wants to download a 200 mb file again. That´s why it´s good that you have separate PBOs, but they´re pretty big to re-download, too. So unless you manage to make a patcher program, you could do what Cat_shit_one (what a name) did with his Afghanistan map, you release zips with new files in them and let people unpbo the old pbos, replace the faulty files and compress the PBO again. This is relatively complicated for the average user, but it allows for the smallest patch/update size. It just assumes that everyone has PBO manager. (few 100kb download) Of course, however simple this may seem, this thread will be flooded with people who have forgotten to replace this little file and can´t get the program to work etc. It´s always that way with the masses I don´t know a lot about these things, it´s just a suggestion

    No, that one´s really hard. Which brings me to another thing. You said that FDF mod comes with 9 SP missions...that´s true but almost all of the are converted coop missions, so a lot of them are too hard / not suited for singleplayer. They´re really not a substitute for a good campaign... but take your time, I´m just making my own missions in the meantime I found another bug: The airport in Karjala isn´t defined properly, so all AI planes / the autopilot land in the sea I really love the new markers, they add a lot of realism into briefings and they are very informative. You just have to remember what they all mean. Another nice touch is that all smoke trails stay in the air longer...If an AA soldier misses his target he´s pretty f***ed when the helicopter/plane turns around and sees exactly where the missile originated! Oh and who provides the radio voice for the Savolainen guy who talks really funnily (can´t remember the name), he was in the demo MP3 on your site. Is he on the team? It´s my favorite radio profile.

  7. Every "big picture" consists of smaller elements as you look deeper in the structure. When I said I wan't to rip the radiator off the wall, I wanted to say "make things less static" and to show what makes the virtual enviroment belivable and realistic. You may never really need to rip off the radiator of the wall, but what about fortifying in the house by using the furniture, or chopping down the trees to barricade the road? This is what I call realism. War isn't just shooting, it's about how to save your life in a combat situation. The best soldiers don't use only their guns, they use their brains first. And thus, better interactivity with the world in the game would encourage people to ponder the possibilities they have and to choose the best possible. I'm tired of playing games where most of the things spreaded over a map have no participation to the game but to look nice. The world isn't static and made of sprites. Collision detection isn't all about CQB and it's just a bug. Sorry, I was just ranting in general But I think this is still mostly eye candy and might require some heavy duty working on the physics engine, I haven´t felt the urge to barricade houses in OFP, altough chopping down trees sounds pretty reasonable You´d the just have to make it so that Car class vehicles don´t drive over the trees but tanks smash the barricade with ease.

    I think the shaking is pretty much perfect, in vanilla OFP it´s too easy to snipe with assault rifles.

    Well, the Finnish chair is "red" (enemy) if you look at it in the tactical view, the ammo cart has a tube coming out of it (it´s a retextured fuel cart, right?), and yes, almost all soldiers have a missing texture around the waist area, you see it best with the Special Jaegers, the Ukko-Pekka iron sights are different from the other weapons and look pretty ugly, the CAS Hawk´s HUD says AIM9 even though it doesn´t have any AIMs...You can´t tell if the missiles on the BMPs are reloaded or not since the name is blue all the time, before it was red while it was reloading... And don´t the RK-95 and RK-62 really use the same mags? I know that you have to name them differently since the ammo name appears in the top left corner, not the weapon name...a solution would be to use the Joint Ammo and Mags or JAM system and use calibre names instead...
  10. I´m getting tired of these kind of suggestions. LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE, PEOPLE! Anyway, BIS said that they have already fixed the collision detection for OFP Xbox, so CQB will sure as hell be great in OFP2.

    Wow amazing Russians But could you wait until the RHS weapon pack comes out, I wouldn´ want a 3rd Russian weapons pack in my addons folder But do as you wish, I´m sure they´ll be great.

    Yeah, I´ve seen some missing LODs under Special Jaeger backpacks...and I thought it was just my imagination, but it seems like other people have noticed an improvement in performance too How about adding one of those Russian boxer trucks that the FDF has? No, I´m not talking about the Sotku van, the GAZs or whatever they are are textured more like Finnish UAZs and I hear they´re really cold in the winter And would it be possible to add some reservists with a bit rounder bellies or would it clip into the animations...?

    Hmm we´ll this is an "ok" addon, the model looks good but a lot of the weapon loadouts are too similiar..And another thing, when I played a mission with 3 AKM74 ZU-23s shooting at me, I flew around them for about a minute and all their rounds seemed to pass through me until they finally nailed me by actually hitting ME through the window... Haven´t played it that much though, FDF mod is taking up all my OFP time!

    Nothing wrong with TOW and their Littlebirds might even be superior to the BAS ones, but remaking perfectly good units only divides the community on which ones to use, sadly... But if they´re that far along, might as well release ´em...looking forward to trying them

    Nope. AFAIK FAF Mi-8s don´t use doorguns either...besides, the Mi-17 is a non-demo BIS model, so I guess you can´t add new stuff to it... What does the Mi-17 have to do with this? If you actually had eyes you would notice that the Mi-8 is missing the rocket pods - how did we manage to get rid of those when the model is encrypted? :P We borrowed the Mi-8 model from a certain Norwegian mod, thanks Jahve! Well, I e-mailed your mod about the Mi-8 and asked if an openable backramp could be added, the response was that the Mi-17 can´t be opened in Oxygen...I was a bit confused since I HAVE NOTICED THAT IT DOESN´T HAVE ROCKETPODS So maybe you should ask whoever handles the mail over there what the Mi-17 has to do with this...

    Okay, finally got it DLd and it works PERFECTLY. This is a QUALITY mod, every detail is perfected... There are too many cool things to mention, so I´ll just say GREAT JOB! But it´s too bad that there isn´t a campaign or any original terrain (what happened to Suursaari?), it kind of spoils the first contact with the mod, not seeing the new units through cutscenes and advancing in ranks... Are you going to update the T-55 when the RHS T-55 pack comes out, BTW? Anyway, about the band... I guess the music´s okay, but don´t blame yourself for not liking the singing, I´m Finnish and even I don´t like Finnish singing (most will disagree but hey). And it´s not rock, it´s metal, like their site says. Really, the band sounds like Children of Bodom "Lite" (some of the riffs sound more like CoB than CoB themselves )...too little gusto and attitude. All foreigners, be sure to check out our national anthem in the editor...

    Oooh I gave in and started DLing with my 56k, 48% done now... Good thing you split it into smaller pbos to make it easier to patch, because I just saw a pretty interesting thing... Ofp.info got an interview with RHS team... If they really accomplish that, I guess every tank addon ever created will have to be updated... Any thoughts on this, FDFmod guys...I mean Almighty OFP God Kegetys?

Sounds amazing, too bad that I´m on 56k and I´ll probably get a memory-map error even if I use it in a mod folder Well, I´m upgrading to DSL 256 in about a week so I guess I´ll DL it then. Heh heh...who´s going to buy "Jääkäri" when you´ve got this? HYVÄ SUOMI!

    I don´t think that there´s an eventhandler for targeting. But giving it nicer optics and a different name than "AA Launcher" would be nice...
