You are always too busy. (compliment) And it seems that while you are busy you keep cranking out the good stuff and the options. Jeez man, take your break already. We all remember only good things about you and then you always have to make up for negligible errors. Bravo!

There is such a thing UkraineBoy. Google it. Motion sensing is for animations of course. Quoted for truth: Please do not offend to work of my Cornell advisor, Steve Marshner. The Digital Michaelangelo Project, aka "complete Sci-Fi crap". EDIT: Removed the anger and insults.

OmYgOSH! I shot j00!!! Nooos! I m so srry!!!! No seriously guys, why did you give players a pistol? You know that we will play the mission twice, only... The only difference between this mission and deer hunting is that you can only eat venison.

I agree that people should just learn to become active thinkers and take everything with a grain of salt. Even the most objective documentaries have some sort of opinion with the way information is presented or even ommited. Personally I understand that everyone has a certain bias, and I understand that checking multiple sources is not the same as being cynical.

Reminds me of Deer Hunter, only...

Sounds like fun. I bet the missions is fairly easy too, I like easy missions for casual play!

Design, not knit it! But I want to crochet the flag.

Then you might as well call all the civilians spies. I'm sure that "spy" is just your regular civilian taking a refresher and view. Unless he owns an RPG launcher.

Abandoned Armies – Secrets revealed (Mostly)
Friedchiken replied to thobson's topic in USER MISSIONS
I unlawfully read your wonderful document and I just want to say that you are a problem solving genius. You are probably one of the most talented game theory gurus. Thank you for all your hard scripting work! But really, before, I got frightened by the scary atmosphere, and the idea that a couple of rapists were coming with rifles to kill me. Then when I met on of the on foot patrols with the flag carrier, it was too much, I was getting a mild heart harrassment. I think I'll play it again!!! -
Ah! I'm relieved that someone else thinks that the Seventh tunes are er.. um... heh.. interesting, enough, that, I... uh, want to, play?, finger, fillet, with, a um... butter knife. . . . ==> Friedchiken

I Can't Find Out When ArmedAssault Will Come Out!
Friedchiken replied to subysteei's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Recent interviews indicate Q3 of 2006. -
I have to admit, some of you will guess that I'll abuse the character switching feature like hell. And. I. Will. Enjoy. It. I think I'll just find a nice bush, snipe all the ignorant AI, hope onto a tank, blow away as much armor as I can, and run screaming into town with the infantry. It will be stupid, but stupid fun.

This is why I don't like circus themed carnivals.

You know, BIS is probably the only developer that I would encourage to perform all sorts of nasty money making schemes. Yay BIS! Yay for capitalism and upstart companies! EDIT:: Please ignore the chicken, it does not know what it's talking about.

Hmmm, I haven't seen Forest Gump in such a long time. Actually I saw again it last year, I just don't remember how Forest the kid ran when trying to get away from those bullies and the vietamese. Man, what a great movie, it was so much funnier after I took AP US History in High School. Awsome work at reviving an old movie Sanc. . . .

I love that picture, it's so horrible. Well, I admit that maybe I got tied up in that marketing campaign too. I used to be a fan of the Rainbow Six games, played OFP and Ghost Recon, became a fan of America's Army, then I started exercising "just in case", quit America's Army to play Flashpoint: Resistance mods... ... then read books by war vets, started reading up on world news, caught up on blogs on both sides of the middle east, started exercising again, became addicted to posting on BIS forums again, and now I'm revolted by the video games advertising campaign.

Have you been drinking again? Eating 10 pounds of old Easter chocolate before bed is a very very bad thing. I must have crashed and passed out after typing that. I wonder if I need to edit that statement, seems like banning material. I mean, look at the spelling! I couldn't have been drunk then? Do I even drink, I thought I quit? I must stop binging on candy or else I'll get a heart attack in the future.

Wow... after what I though was an E3 press fiasco, and then this odd way of presenting breaking news via the modding elite of Operation Flashpoint, I realized that I have wasted my time giving input for things that will get fixed anyways. I think I need to cut down on the amount of comments I make! Â It may be summer, but I have important jobs to do, jobs that need to be done before I can play Armed Assault. I'm just going to say the BIS is like an abusive, but sexy girlfriend (or boyfriend if you swing that way) in a postponed relationship. Â There's so much sexual tension I can't stand it. Uh yeah, so I think I'll try to spend less time posting like crazy, it's bad for my psychological health. EDIT:: Arrg, whatever, I just want to say that I like BIS's continual experimentation with the command system. I'm comfortable with learning new key configs, though I'm sympathetic with the people who liked ~-3-2 and ~-3-1!!! And no, I've never had a real girlfriend.

look at this pic: Cadet mode AI settings I'm pretty sure that you see AI running past each other because they were nerfed to be blind. The APC crashing into a tree was still embarrassing though.
-
I bet AI is better in Veteran mode! Â It's obvious that this guy is in Cadet mode, which explains all the stupid mistakes on part of the enemy (they are one notch below "normal" AI shown in the difficulty settings!!!. Man, now I wish a OFP veteran made a video, think of all the action! Somethings... just so right about the game. Â This game is a guarenteed buy for me. Â Only my crappy laptop will stop me!!! We are so not worthy!!! EDIT: Seems like they are working on the firing animations for the tank commander machine gun. The flash is static for now, so I'm glad that they are trying to make the mounted gun work.
-
Are they really working with just 15 people? Â I though that these days games are made with numerous programmers, artists, animators, etc. Â How do you kick out a quality game in such a short time with so few people? Did they work alone or were aliens involved? Well, the opposite end of the spectrum is EA; with their army of developers they still end up making mediocre games. You can pour a lot of money into a project, but without proper leadership, passion, and talent, it's hard to make something genius. That, or the Spanel brothers really came from the planet Cryluk along with Brian Boitano the save the f***ing world.

Why do you see OFP as the best military game?
Friedchiken replied to evilnate's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Some of us may be too stoned to care about graphics, but personally I like the functionality of the ugly objects. I've played enough old games to appreciate good gameplay despite ugly visuals. -
Judging by that statement, I have this hunch that we are both college age students.
-
Well, if I can't see the enemy at 200m and you expect me to lay down fire in the appropriate direction, I hope the AI will help me out with some extra bullets.
