Again a USMC mod is born. After i closed the Semper Fidelis Addons Studio i didn´t stopped the work on my projects you have already seen on pics. The diffrence to SEF is that we will focus only on some addons. With SEF i tried to make all or a lot of vehicle variations. However this mod will be made for Armed Assault. The focus will in his first part on woodland camoed units. A jungle and desert expansion is possible, but this is only a suggestion. Like every mod i search for mebers. We already know a possible host for a website. Also we need the folowing personal: *1 web-designer (very important) *1 scripter (missions) *1-2 missions editor *1 modler for island objects (maybe he can improve his skills to get an other job) *1 modler for vehicels (experienced) => with texturing skills *? beta-tester (VBS1 required) Contact me via PM if you are interested The team consist of following member: Jakerod=> WRP-editor FischKopp=> leader ( i hate this describtion), modler, tex-artist and Soul Assassin who helps with a project ... Hi now I decided to port the USMC Mod official over to Armed Assault. Through the process of transferring the Mod to Armed Assault I have reconsidered the whole concept. The original USMC Mod 1.4. had the aim to create a complete most modern (future) US Marine Corp. Now the Mod will be focused on the US Marine Corp of the 80´s. I guess some will now disappointed because they hoped to get finally some units for a Gulf War III scenario. But I made this decision because of a simple fact. The modern US Marine Corp is undergoing a transformation in equipment. Some new stuff is already deployed (MTVR 7t Truck or M177 155mm Light Weight Howitzer) other stuff (EFV or LVSR) is still in the testing phase and will be soon available for the US Marine Corp. At the same time there are still the units in use whose replacement is already deployed (M923A3 with MTVR; M198 with M177) and the same will be for the future units (AAVP7A1 with EFV, and so on). That cause in my point of view the problem, that we have to create a lot of stuff/ add-ons to create a fully autonomic (with all his parts in combat, logistics, artillery, aviation and so on) US Marine Corps. Therefore we start wit the 80´s, precise said the 1986. This year and period offer us the possibility to create easier a fully functionally US Marine Corps with all its units. Sure in this time the US Marine Corps had undergone a transformation too (introducing of the AV-8B, LVS, LAV-25 as example). But at all we have lesser to create and could maybe offer you faster/ earlier a complete US Marine Corp. The second advantage is, that we could go along with the Germany 1985 Mod, although we are not part of it. But we could maybe fill the gaps in some areas of the Mod. We also can easily transfer the original Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis campaign to Armed Assault, which save us some time in creating and give you a campaign to make use of the Mod add-ons. Sure we will modify the story, places, characters and missions in some parts to give you the possibility to enjoy this campaign and discover new things. But at least we will not stay with the 80´s. We could maybe give you part for part new add-ons which will update the US Marine Corp from 1986 to 1991 to … So you can get new and modern stuff. But this is not for sure. The add-ons will now be delivered in single pieces and not as a complete Mod. But at first we need the tools to create the most important thing. Soldiers! And here some WIP of the M923A1 5t Truck. I hope I can supply you with information continually but I have a lot to do at moment.

As far as I know the UH-1H is not in use anymore. It is onky used by the National Guard. And they use a olive drab camo. National Guard soldiers on exercise -

The low poly variant is for a use as vehicle mounted weapon. -

After I ' ve showed a page before a first impression of my M60 I was able to finish the textures (and to 80% of the LODs) today. The magazine pouche of the E3 versions will be replaced with LBT pouches -

As promised the M923 pack (beta) will be released. Meanwhile I proceeded with other stuff. I modeled a M60 cos I need it for the next vehicle that is planned by me. The textures are not perfect, but I'm satisfied so far with it. I need the M60 for this tracked vehicle: the LVTP7. The command version of it need a M60 machine gun for the vehicle commander. Moreover other addons will need it too (M151, UH-1N) I will also work on the mid/ late 80s version: the AAVP7A1 with the Cadilac turret.

My first weapon (beside the M2 and Mk. 19 MOD3) It is not the best but satisfying in my eyes. I will implement also a M60E3. -

No progress. I reorganized me. Instead to disperse my manpower I've created a "To Do List". LHA is ranking now, really on the bottom. Next vehicle will be the LVTP7 and AAV7A1 in diffrent variants (C and R), but without EAAK armour. No modern version is planned. -

Hi people! I´m back. It had serveral reasons why i stopped. On the one Hand i was bored by modding and ArmA/ OFP. On the other my graphic card was to bad for ArmA, so modelling was not possible. But there were also some private things which had my attention. Now back with a powerful graphic card, pleasure for modding and a little bit of time, I will continue on my work. At the moment I do familiarize me with the new functions for ArmA modding. So I need some time to get into. But finally get some vehicle into ArmA. And it works. There still some problems with the shadow (adjusting to the wire mesh, to avoid strange lightning), config (disable gunner position and activating lights), lightning (look at the cover on the pic below) and the right arrangement of the normal map. Here ist the first ingame shot of the M923A1 in MERDC european winter camo pattern Hint: In this pic I have deactivated the shadows, cos of the minor problems with the shadows. And here is another pic of an early Work-In-Progress of the LPH Class, Amphibious Helicopter Carrier. If it will be ever get finished. Who knows? I'm not sure. But i will try. P.S.: Nevertheless I've started with a LPH, I will focus on the LHA Class, cos the community wants it so readily.

Hi! Maybe a stupid question, but i`ve a small problem with the .paa/.pac format and Texview1/ Texview2. Since I`ve installed the tools, the .paa/.pac is no longer associated with the texview proggramms. I tried to modify the sttings again via "Open with/ always open with this programm" But WinXP do not recognize the texview programms anymore. So I´ve to localize everytime the .paa/.pac files via Texview file directory. This is realy ineffevtive and cost some time to browse through the folders to find the textures. Does anybody know how to solve the problem? Maybe some modification in regedit? I´ve no clue!

@jerry Hopper: Thx for hiyacking my thread with a non related topic . As I said, I tried the file association through the Windows pop-up menu. I searched the texview programms and selected the "always open with" button. But this not work. Windows switch back without adding texview. So i have to open all .paa./ .pac files manually with texview. It has something to do with the installation of O2 and Visitor but i don´t know how. Maybe through the registry. Any solution?

@ Col. Falukner: You right with the point that this is a discussion board to share ideas, suggestions and informations. But sometimes it can be very annoying if people too often ask for "any news?". Or they ask for further information although this information was given a page before. Personally I react on such posts but i think its not that difficult to invest 5 min. to read the entry posts or the 2 pages before, especially if they haven´t watched the thread. This would avoid needless questions sometimes.
