My Ak-74N: Too bad it was broken during Berget 5.. Me with my teammates gun: Click for huge..

There aren't even pics available as far as I know, so a bit hard to make. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070809/ts_afp/russiaarmsindustry

On a sidenote, those pics I posted are from Beslan

The 1P29 is indeed quite lightly coloured:
-
Like I said before, barrel isn't actually shorter.. it's just fatter which makes it look shorter
-
To add to the debate, there are only a couple of prototype drums for the RPK-74, which look nothing like the normal RPK drums.. They look like this (here mounted on a beltfed RPK74 prototype which could also take mags): http://img365.imageshack.us/img365....5hx.jpg The pictures on the previous page show a normal RPK in 7.62x39 in the first pic.. The middle picture is not an RPK, it's a chinese Ak with a chinese 7.62x39 drum. And the last pic is a Chinese RPK variant with 7.62x39 drum.. RPK-74M looks like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v143/Stottman/RPK74M/RPK74Ma.jpg Also there was a remark about the muzzle nut on the AKM, the first AKM models had the muzzle nut from the Ak47, they changed to the slanted brake in 1962.
-
Shadow, I gave you a load of pics of my 1P29 right?
-
It's actually just to tape two mags together.. why blue? It was what is available in every soldiers issued kit..
-
CA M15A4 Carbine with Guarder Elcan, he is getting some thermolds for it too. It's actually a PK (earlier version) and not a PKM But yeah it's nice, and heavy, loaded it's 13kg..
-
I prefer natural weathering Both my Ak's: And some of the toys my teammate has atm:
-
I'd get the M16A4... Easier to mount scopes or such on. Then get a MAG midcap pack and you are all set.
-
Looks like an ancient NSP-2, grossly undersized though:

BMD-1 Airborne Fighting Vehicle
FW200 replied to mechastalin's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Are you going to include a olive drab version in the colours of the T-72/BMP-2 as well? -
If I had to guess, it would be because the Ka50 model they had was fairly highres compared to the Mi24. They could add normal mapping to the Ka50 and it would end up looking fairly good, whereas the Mi24 would need a completly new model and textures. Ka50 got added in OFP:R, while the Mi24 is from 1.0..

NO AKM's or Ak-47's were retrofitted to use 5.45mm ammo. It would be too much trouble for what it's worth. I think the 7.62 magwell is even a bit wider than the 5.45 one, so if you were to put a 5.45 in a 7.62 it would not sit tightly and properly. You CAN use 5.45 mags in 5.56 NATO Ak's.. provided you use 5.56 NATO ammo in the 5.45 mag offcourse..

The 2 top pictures shown show: Bulgarian and Russian. Major difference between Bulgarian and Russian is the wood used, the Bulgarian doesn't use laminated wood while the Russian one does. And the bottom one is not an Ak-74. It's an AKM in 7.62 with Bulgarian Ak-74 furniture. Completly different.
-
All Soviet Ak-74's had the cutout in the stock. All Soviet Ak-74's used the same type of wood, with 2-3 types of finishes, which was usually reddish. Soviet and East German bakelite was quite the same in terms of colour. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a345/FW200/DSC04000.jpg These are both Soviet (Triangle) and East German (mold mark) ones. I have only seen one green magazine which was for AKM, not Ak-74.. so forget green ones. Tantals were actually cutup and sold to the USA for civilians.
-
Indeed, only Romanians and Polish used 5.45mm steel mags, the Russians used bakelite (orange), plum and black magazines. Also, you (the author of the thread) made the bolt carrier on your Ak-74 silver, while it should be black like on the BIS one. And the BIS stock is also off, the Ak-74 has a cutout in the stock like this: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums....s_1.jpg

Yay this topic got raised from the dead, now I can post some pics Soviet Motorized Infantry loadout, not completly correct but good enough for now. My G&G Ak-74.

what the hell are you smoking? if it was such a crap pattern, would the most technically advaned, and arguably the best army on earth adopt it as their official pattern? i think not. just because you think it looks tacky doesnt mean its crap in combat It works decently in desert and around buildings, it works well in dark shadows (almost every pattern does)... but in normal woodland conditions it's horrible.. I've seen it in use and it does not work.. I don't know what the designers were smoking but there are better alternatives than I-C-U..

Operation Flashpoint: 5 Year Anniversary
FW200 replied to Placebo's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
Congratulations -
BTW, the Ak103 needs birdcage flashhider like on the Ak-74 It also looks like it has the gasblock of an AKM?
-
Oh, I dunno if this is the case in FFUR, but a Sa58 can't use Ak-47 magazines
