  1. Well here is a heads up about the work status.

    Hawk is working a lot on this plane this days and works are very advanced by now, I am helping as much as I can and since both like high quality work, even if we extend the release some days the final add on will be a high quality one.

    As I told you the works are very adavnced, basically all scripst are done, most of the modelling also and we are ending the avionics (flight instruments) to work the more real as possible.

    So far this are the features the plane have.

    Realistically animated landing gear

    High detail cockpit with a full flight deck

    Mid air refuel for planes and helicopters

    Extensible fuel hose

    Stall warning with realistic sounds

    Low altitude warning

    3 animated doors plus operating cargo ramp

    Flare automatic anti missile, with a sound warning alert.

    Group parachute script (spacing each jumper so they do not chrash midair)

    Cargo release (can carry jeeps, hummers, ammo crates...) The cargo is parachuted. This last 2 options have animated cargo ramp operation.

    Plane will display XML logos

    One of the latest additions is the possibility of Thrust Reverse (inverting propellers picht) this way the plane can land on short runways and stop in small spaces.

    The add on will carry a couple of demo missions with scripts that show how to create triggers so a Leader on ground cann order the Hercules pilot to drop its cargo or troops on his command

    Is very possible that a Winter and Desert cammo version are released too.

    Unfortunately the gunship version (Spectre) is placed on hold due the OFP machine limitation that make a that planes can only fire  forward not through lateral gun mounts such helicopters can do.

    Haw is working full time and I am trying to follow his path so expect more news soon


  2. A tiger meet is a  meeting done by NATO  squadrons every year where they paint their fighters and some helos with tiger cammo. Obviously this is not the way they go to combat.

    Btw. I was in last one at Beja Air Base (Portugal) IMPRESSIVE including nice airshow

  3. Some questions about what's being made:

    1. Are the cargo and refueling models separate C-130s or the same?

    2. Will the paratrooper version have chutists standing facing backwards like they would when getting ready to jump?

    The same plane does it all. Initially just one version.

    The beta version we are testing does not incorporate any special annimation about paratroopers standing backwards.

    Once the group bailout order is issues either by the C-130 pilot or by the jumpers team leader through action menu, there is an open ramp annimation followed by some text.

    I am not sure about other cammo scheme at this time, probably that will not be a problem but I am not sure wich one or when HAWK will implement it. Now we are aiming to have a sound plane with realistic perfomance (adapted to OFP) and many cool features. Adding additional textures is not that complex when you already have a functional model.

    The actual cammo scheme is from Portugal Airforce. Since this C-130 can be realistically be used on Vietnam maps, this cammo scheme is sounded.

    Not all actual European Airforces have grey or dark schemes on their Hercky fleets.

    However I think HAwk will probably add another darker cammo scheme.

    About the C-130 version, well, if you know OFP engine you surely know most differences btw real versions cannot simply be incorporated to the game.

    Different engines, or avionics are hardly represented on this game. The basic model used was a C-130 H, however it would be better if you consider it a "generic" C-130 since the add on does not exactly represent the tech characteristics of just H series but have a more wide goal.


  4. HAWK, the add on maker is currently working on our long time desired C-130 Hercules.

    I am an Airline Pilot (helicopter) on Real life and I am helping him on the aeronautical side.

    We aim to have the most complete and realistic (as much as OFP allows) plane.

    The plane have excellent textures, with a VERY detailled cockpit. It has real C-130 sounds.

    It has animated doors. (3 lateral doors plus cargo ramp)

    You can walk inside the plane (while it is not moving)

    The plane hace the capability of carrying cargo and parachute release while flying.

    It also have, a group bail out command so you parachute the whole group (not exactly like ejecting  wink_o.gif )

    It also carries a script to order AI pilots to perform such tasking using action menu.

    And as new feature, Hawk has implemented a mid air refueling capability. The plane can extend a fuel hose and perform a mir air refueling to other planes an helis. This is something I am sure some of you will enjoy a lot.

    Do not worry about the action menu on the pic on Polish, will be translated to english on final version.

    Other cool stuff is that if the plane gets damaged, a fire is started on one engine and leaves a trail of smoke  smile_o.gif

    It will probably have a Stall warning plus other new and cool features such flare  defense system to counter IR AA missiles.

    The actual cammo scheme used is not the most up to date but more widely used for most countries back on 80´s.

    HAWK is really doing a nice job, aimin for realism on this plane.

    I am helping on tech aeronautical stuff (Besides ATP pilot I have like 160 jumps from C-130  wink_o.gif )

    The work is well advanced so I do  expect HAWK have the add on ready soon.

  5. I like this add on a lot but in my squad we aim for realism and we do not think it is too realistic that a diver while submerged can see 900 mts ahead of him. Divers while submerged must have reduced visibility of about 5 mts. One he is out of water he must retain normal visibility.

    I also really hope a proper way to board vehicles is figured out.

    I cannot even board the LSD using is rear ramp.

    Can you fix this 2 issues?


  6. I have it tested them with most of the test platforms plus other aircrafts such Marineflieger Tornado.

    The resoults are great.

    In some cases you get yourself killed by your own weapon if you go faster than it when you release (No safety distance to arm tounge_o.gif )

    Thi is usually no problem at all for any boat or helo launching platform but can be for planes or high speed helos.

    It is wise to drop the weapon slow or with some altitude 200 mts or with some climbing pitch. The point is just do not be ahead of the weapon when it reaches water smile_o.gif

    With Tornado and with enough altitude that is not a problem since when the torp reaches the water you are outside his detection cone.

    Said this I want to thank Denoir and CoC for the long time awaited Addon.

  7. Nice add on. Badly missed for long time.

    A pity it cannot be edited in one single piece and that it cannot neither move.

    I have been able to land and catth the wire with several aircraft (A-10, MFG Tornado and A-4 Skyhawk)

    I hope you are considering to add some "runway lighting" or some kind of visual aid since night landing is quite complex without it (I still have not been able to make one, confused.gif yet hehe)

    I am just curious. What is the reason you intend to have a 1968 carrier instead one from 1985 that is supossedely the game era?

    ABout the warning system add ons such BAS MH-47E allow it to be activated or dissabled via action menu. Belive me in some cases that could be very useful. biggrin.gif

    Will your afterburner decrease the effect of flares (or prevent they are released) while afterburner activated?


  9. I have already mailed to ColourChanger this suggestion besides thanking his for this outstanding addon.

    One of the best Aircraft add ond released for OFP (considering realisim and textures and candy eye)

    My suggestion is to implement an AFTERBURNER such real tornado.

    There is already one A-4 Skyhawk with this feature.

    The AFTERBURNER should be activated when flying at max power. (Surely a cool pic at night)

    And most important the Flares counter missile system shoul be not very useful when the burner is activated.

    And to complete the request, an audio WARNING TERRAIN system.

  10. I love planes and choppers but islands are too smalls neither game engine allows for realistic aerodinamics required for such speeds. At match 2 you will cross an OFP island in 4 seconds. Lets focus on more useful stuff biggrin.gif

  12. I hope you can fix your trouble and get your game to work, however let me tell you what it is really Unacceptable.

    OFP comes with its official add ons, the ones approved by BIS.

    The rest of your 900 mg add on come by third parties. I suggest you read most if this add ond read me files where you will see how the add on makers clearly state that BIS is NOT responsible of any trouble created by the add on.

    I am glad to see that BIS is willing to provide you support with this trouble, but instead coming to an official forum yelling that

    this is unacceptable because you cannot run anything you want on your game, (what about 5 gigas add ons by next month?), you could had nicely asked BIS to provide support wich I am sure you should had received anyway.

  13. I am very interested on this add on Russian patrol Boat from Retaliation

    I have tried the links provided on that tread but none of them are working.

    I fond that add on on OFP.info but the file you get from there is a Mirage.pbo file that carries a plane (Avalaible just on planes list) You cannot even use it since you are missing some pilot add on.

    Any of you have a valid link where to get the boat add on?

    Any of you can send it to me by mail to FURIA-SW@terra.es ? smile.gif

    I am very interetested on that add on and the reason I used the tread was because the links provided didn't function (related to the tread)

    The link provided by FIGHTER directing me to ofp.info gives you a strange file that is classifed as Mirage plane and cannot be used because it seems to miss some pilot characters.

    Please open again the Patrol Boat topic so the comunity can share the info about that add on that otherwise would be lost for ever on cyberspace. (If you mail me the add on you can close both treads  wink.gif )

    I think this forum is for Comunity members to talk about complted add ond, get DL links and report bugs. This is exactly what I was intending.


  15. I am 100% on favour of JIG. We could create realtime battles and players that drop or join while in game can join the game avoiding countless #reassign.

    I suggest we leave this as an option to server and that can be controlled by server admin, authorizing or not each player that wants to join.

    Also an option to disable this feature in case the maps require no JIG.

    JIG feature alone would be like a 200% improvement of OFP playability
