  1. This general reaction here is disapointing, there are more complainers who dont have the game than complainers that do, lets have some more impressions from people who do have the game, thats what the topic was made for wink_o.gif .

Quite a few game owners are among the complainers already, it's been out for two weeks now if you havent forgotten. wink_o.gif

  2. 3: Well maybe 30 v 30 if it does'nt lagg. In OFP it was more like 8v8, not sure if there will be many clans about with 30+ players. But i was lucky to be in one that had more then 30.

Weve had >30 player coops and PvP matches as well without major technical problems. smile_o.gif

  3. Let's just hope they can efficiently use those 3 months they have before arma hits the big magazines.

How long did it take bis to release their first free additional units by the way?

I guess those people who get ArmA right in November should work 24-7 to get out some mods within the first three months. And then they shall do their reviews  smile_o.gif

I am not a modder (just a lowly mission maker) so I cannot know for sure, but I thought the modding tools will be out after the 505 release and not before?

  4. anyway its more then that, for those who dont have a credit card it is really hopeless for them

Chances are, if you've got a system capable of running ArmA in the first place, either you or Mum and Dad have one tounge2.gif

WTH are you talking about. "I can afford it - therefore i have a credit card"...Not everyone is that fortunate.

If you can afford >1000e gaming rigs you probably can get a basic visa or a regular-ass debit card. wink_o.gif

  5. Will there be patches, will there be the same support that was there for OFP?

Judging from previous experience with BIS I think it's safe to say yes wink_o.gif

Online shopping, once the first English language version is commercialised  wink_o.gif

yes i am thinking about to lay order on the german version(once i figuer out how and how much to pay), i just cant take the waiting more crazy_o.gif

  7. Quote[/b] ]E3 05 - novemer 06  dosent = 48 months.

They have been working on Arma since 2002.

    Wrong.

ArmA was started shortly before it was announced at E3 05.

How come I remember the first promised release eta being Q4 2005? Seems a bit early for something that was started the same year. wink_o.gif

Because the original planned release version was going to be a bunch of VBS stuff thrown together and prettied up a bit combined with a new island and campaign but retaining almost all of the old gameplay and engine that was to be found in Flashpoint and VBS1.

But was'nt that what you did anyway?

  9. Well, I just checked out other reviews on that site, seems that they dont hand out eights and nines like candy unlike some other major reviewers. smile_o.gif

Even the universally praised Company of Heroes got 85%

  10. I think we will see many more reviews after the 505 release and if they polish it up some more it might get better ratings, since Arma really isnt a whole new game i dont think 75% is bad.

Look at what kind of scores EA sports games or battlefields are getting, 75% is low.

Already starting to regret spending that 60 euros, well, ill see next week how badly I managed to waste those. crazy_o.gif

  11. AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 processor 4600+ or Intel® Core Duo 2 processor E6300? What's better?

The E6300, it'll overclock easier (even with stock cooling) and give better performance, as long as you combine it with some decent RAM and a decent (965/975) chipset on the motherboard.

I am not such a hardware connaisseur, so I am more curious about the results without overclocking. Still E6300?

Let's put it that if you buy a core 2 proccessor with the price of X2 4600+ you are more likely to get the damn thing and end up with better performance. wink_o.gif

  12. Like take infantry from JAM and CSLA and put them with FDF and FFUR. I have with some MOD folders, and they work fine, but sometimes it doesn't. (Y2K3)

Of course you have to consider that these mods have hugely different ideas of good gameplay, graphical effects and realism, meaning their configs are totally alike.

And yeah, fdf is not an addon pack. It's a lot more than a bunch of new units zipped together. wink_o.gif

  13. So far there are only 2 companies offering online distribution.  And EA downloader is bugged to hell and currput.

Steam is very successful but took a long time and lots of resources to perfect.

I doubt BIS has the time or resources to do such thing in the next 3 years.

I suggest you check out live for speed.
