    nothing. We'll just leave them alone. You have to remember that if the worlds only superpower offers help to a nation that is needing help... I'm sure they will not say no. In retrospect, its their loss if they do.

    What do you think would happen if.. say a certain group of oil-rich countries decided to stop selling oil to the US?

    I think comparing the USA to any of the previous empires shouldn't be based on any concrete similarities between specific actions. We should rather concentrate on how the USA's unique position in the world compares to those of empires gone by. To clarify: just because the USA hasn't conquered an entire continent (like Rome did) doesn't mean the comparison is invalid.

    Lets review one MAJOR flaw to the "American Empire"

    All nations perceived within the American influence is a sovereign  nation, and has the lawful ability to resist American laws, and policies. All nations which has signed treaties with the United States has the lawful ability to terminate these treaties whenever they feel necessary

    EDIT: Now that I think of it, latin america is pretty ugly counter-example.

    Just bought the game - It's on two two DVD discs... And unfortunatley for some it says on the back that it needs an SSE2 capable processor to run, didn't they say that was going to change in the final product? confused_o.gif

    The newer demo runs without one, should work fine in retail. Though they officially support SSE2 only if I am not mistaken.

    Its an upgraded version of OFP, i dont see how it could be bad? wink_o.gif

    Well, making that kind of blanket statements without having any real good contact with the game is surefire way to invite mr. murphy. wink_o.gif

    Possibly ... but why?

    I mean OFP/OFP:E didn't suck and Arma is an updated version of them, so what could BIS do to make Arma suck so badly? Especially when all the features, screenshots and videos we've seen suggest it should be so much better? crazy_o.gif

    Does anyone expect Armed Assault to get high scores/ratings in mainstream gaming sites? It wont, it wont get the perfect 9.0's of Doom3, half life2, GRAW, Far Cry, BF, etc... even if it delivers many features that so called next generation games dont event scratch.

    Lets also not forget that a big label behind a game equals a big media kiss in the ass whistle.gif .

    Maybe the game is a little rough, it was developed quite fast so its possible but we know BIS will support it, im far from worried.

    Well.. the original ofp did pretty well in the mainstream press in case you forgot. wink_o.gif

    As you know there are 435 members in the United States House of Representatives. Among them ONE muslim was chosen this year and this is the hysterically funny (yet scary) reaction of the members of an extreme right-wing website free republic:

    CAIR endorsed guy. That should be enough to make anyone afraid of him. And then there's the whole thing with him being a former member of the Nation of Islam.

    Um.. I'm pretty sure they said it would be a mix of non-enterable and enterable buildings.

    Quite possible, my memory is often quite sub-par. wink_o.gif

    Though I must admit being a little sceptical since I have not seen any screenshots of enterable buildings.

    Ok while I share your enthusiasm about the recent videos and would probably mention all the positive developments had you not already beaten me to post I would like to raise the most worrying aspect:

    Where are all the ENTERABLE buildings?

    If ArmedAssault is a true successor to Operation Flashpoint or even OPF 1.5 it should have at least 1.5x the numer of enterable buildings.Yet all I see are dull uninspiring low poly buildings in the big cities.Has such a big sacrifice been made for the game to be CPU-friendly?Because this is seriously not a sacrifice worth taking.I hope I my worries are for nothing and that this buildings are place holders before it reaches gold status.

    Other then the hotel can anyone report any other type of enterable buildings already included in the latest build?
