I'd say it's taught in a rather neutral way. They don't go for the "evil jew-killing nazis" vs. "freedom loving" allies but instead opt for a more technical way to describe the whole thing. Of course our history lessons are more oriented towards the eastern front since it had much more relevance to the finnish history. And as for the attitudes id say russians still get a lot of antipathy especially from older people. They took some territory back then. Germans (who were sort-of-but-not-really allied with us after winter war) are not viewed as negatively as in lot of other countries despite the fact we had to fight them in the end (northern finlanders probably have a bit more negative view on them as they burned villages while retreating).

Support for 16bit programs (DOS, windows 3.1x) were killed in the 64bit edition of windows XP. Seriously, get dosbox, will save you a lot of headache. Yes, because we know how keen microsoft is on implementing new features for free and fixing anything but critical security bugs.

I dont think they are doing anything but age of empires and FS series on PC nowadays. What happened was that they released a buggy unfinished product called Ultima IX. For some reason Lord British has failed to create anything worthwhile for any publishers so just maybe they were to blame and not EA. Same goes for Westwood. Two words: Ultima VIII The difference is that games made by those companies are pretty dumbed down by default and sure moneymakers. BIS is the polar opposite of this.

Overzealous anti-cheat systems that slows down the game and get you permbanned for having mods/custom hacks/weird display drivers while doing worth shit preventing actual cheating? No thanks. The only anti-cheat solution is to stick to servers you are familiar with and stop playing with random 12-year-olds.

These kinds of populist parties are not sustainable in the long run since they cant deliver what they promise so in the long run theyll lead up to suppression of any opposition.

Phh. But You propably live in the US. In Poland OFP Platinium now costs 59zl. ( ~17$ ) while Xbox OFP costs 150-200zl. Hardly anyone in Poland owns Xbox, while it is quite popular in the US, so the difference in price of games is greater. You are comparing games that are to be released 4.5 years apart you know. And no, I do not live in the US.

Anybody who wants EA should do some research and see what happened to ultimas after EA acquired origin. What we would end up with would be a 2010 edition of call of duty or something similar. Being a XBOX owner I can tell you that at most it's games are 1.5x expensive, usually much less. And as for hardware specs.. I suggest you go and look up XP's requirements. Also killing opengl support would also kill lot of backward compatibility. HL1 and quakes would probably be most prominent examples. I suppose microsoft is just trying to scare developers into making directx games only. MS is'nt saying so but Nvidia, ATI and 3dlabs are. Windows vista wont support it out of box, it will interfere with Aero Glass and will be layered on top of directx causing an enormous performance drop. So, windows vista will get you a fuckload of DRM and break backwards compatibility just because microsoft does'nt like competition. Is there actually any reason beyond "ooh shiny" to buy this crap?

Seems like some 3rd party shell replacement. I dont think even microsoft would have the guts to rip off the mac sidebar.
