Or maybe they should just give insurance companies protection from lawsuits if/when they start charging fatties more for health insurance. I just wonder why does this need a separate law? Why are'nt these cases just thrown out?

No more technical excuses, now we will truly find out which country has the best pilots.

The human wave tactics mostly used by OFP AI when attacking would suit that war indeed.

Free speech deeply rooted in US culture? Â Â Source An isolated incident I know, but I can't imagine it happening in Western Europe. Wonder what was the message though.. was it something like this? http://www.tshirthell.com/store/product.php?productid=102 Then again, it might not be such a bad thing afterall: http://www.tshirthell.com/traveloffer.htm

Well.. how much has changed really? The military are still using the same shit, M16A2s.. abramses.. A-10s and the works, it would seem that most conventional weapons used by grunts have hardly changed. Most of the advancements that have happened in the last 15 years can't be really modeled in FPSses. I always kind of viewed end of Vietnam war as the beginning of this era of warfare.

Am I the only one here that thinks 1985 IS modern warfare?

They want influence simple has that. Why would they want influence I ask you. Because they really really really would like not like one country having ultimate control over the fastest growing communications medium, just like every other country in the world? indeed. EU wants to have a stake at something that is very influential. however, the problem is that the internet is found/made by US, and US is not forcing rest of the world to use internet. That is true, yet we would prefer to do this in a manner that is not messy and does not involve re-inventing the wheels. Europeans pioneered mobile technologies, we are not claiming sole right to control every cellular link there is right?

You do not comprehend that some of those countries that are throwing their support behind a UN oversight board or something non-US are the ones that actively censor basic internet content. You have to ask why are they doing this. It begins with a "i". General Barron took must of my thought... So what excactly would having a vote in a board of tens of countries do? The process would be awfully slow, much more visible and would not achieve anything that they can't already do with at the local level. Do you think rest of the organization members are going to fork over the money to set up unpopular, cumbersome, expensive filtering systems? Does the ITU or the UPU censor phone calls or mail for China? Of course not, it just does not make any fucking sense.
-
Yeah, expect for the "countries getting invaded and billions of dollars spent on finding other ways to get oil/replace it alltogether" part. If saudis would completely stop giving out oil to the west there would be a war within a month. Same can't be said about root servers. EU control over world market? What are you smoking?
-
How would you feel if.. say EU had the means to completely fuck up your information infrastructure just when it felt like it? Checks and balances are indeed about more than "we will not abuse this possibility, honest!" The US DOES exercise control over the internet, they have not just abused it.. yet. With all that crap that has been going over with FCC and seeing all that "pro-family" internet legislation I am starting to get most worried. Yeah, because we all know how much power some 3rd world countries wield over west. Do you think ITU or UPU have been used to censor communications? Those countries will just use their pre-existing filtering technology, probably as effective and keep this sort of thing swept under the rug.

Did they give any excuses or have we finally reached the point where GWB could kill a kitten in national television without certain people minding it all?
-
Well.. let's just say if my OFP squad decided to join the coalition and everybody of us would go there we would be bigger contributor than Norway now (measured by manpower)..

Uhh.. as compatible as any other 32bit programs running on windows xp 64? I have not used any 64bit operating systems but I think the only things not supported are older device drivers and 16bit programs (read: DOS/Win 3.11).

First decent "nation" mod: FDFMOD (or at least I can't recall any other full MODs (demos and piles of addons dont count ))
-
So the twice as large L2 cache, improved instruction sets, general architecture improvements (Socket-A vs. 939), 250MHz FSB, and extra 800MHz had nothing to do with that? Do you even know what that 64bit feature means actually? You certainly are easily offended for somebody that keeps calling others idiots.
-
Well.. must be some damn advanced addressing if it makes textures look better. Uhh.. what? You say that your 64bit FX-57 could do 170FPS in HL2 as opposed to your 64bit FX-57 could do 150FPS in HL2? You do have some strange ideas about flaming.

Want to buy a bridge?

Weren't they allowed to vote before becoming inmates? Well.. the changes are the line-up has been changed after that.
-
The same people who the inmates were not allowed to vote for or against in the first place? Like I said, many things have been crimes in the past while many things that were not illegal are now illegal. Law is supposed to be built around society, not the other way. As a matter of fact signing the official secrets paper does'nt mean shit in reality, it's just merely a "reminder" (read: the lawyer way to threaten you). The act applies even if you do not sign shit. Or that at least how I remember it, I am not that experienced with the british legal system. In fact I would really like to know if the voting rights are permanently removed for felons like in certain US states or is the loss just temporary?
-
So who gets to decide what is a "major" crime? The goverment? I am a lot more afraid of goverments than criminals, even the most depraved squad of serial killers can't achieve even a fraction of what even a second rate autocrat regime can do. You don't get prison sentences for drug crimes? The official secrets act and EUCD based laws have been revoked? I consider the right to vote at least as important as free food and healthcare, do you?
-
No they do not. You know, lot of things we used to do are illegal and some things that used to be illegal are being done now. Just because some MP made it a law does'nt mean breaking it should forfeit your basic rights. Whose human rights did I violate when I leaked that secret goverment paper detailing some gross bureaucratic oversight? Whose human rights did I violate when I injected some substance into my body? Whose human rights did I violate when I modded my game console? Whose human rights did I violate when I refused to allow myself to be searched by a police officer? The list goes on..

Since technically most people in that movie were "military" personnel it would be more realistic than in your average hollywood movie. Rrright. Funny to see a bunch of kids in charge of space stations and an assload of ships. Well, technically they had just been trained because none of that existed couple of years earlier. (can't believe im arguing about realism of a star trek parody.. )

I can live with the status quo. Ill rather take a mod which style I like better rather than see it crammed to an arbituary standard.
