The circumstances are getting very similar. The My Lai occurred when the american forces were getting extremely frustrated with the uncooperative civilians who were helping the vietcong. One platoon managed to shoot hundreds of civilians, you have to be really fucked up to do that. Who knows how many would have died if the brave helicopter pilot had not intervened.

Ubisoft have turned GR and R6 franchise into console arcadish exclusives, with the next generation consoles coming out you can bet they wouldnt be very interested in publishing BIS games for PC, not interested in seeing dumbed down ports either, not even to mention starforce . Â >>> Ubisoft! I think the new direction of the R6 and GR was totally chosen by red storm themselves. Codemasters is quite fond of starforce too, they were one of the first companies to adopt it.

Not going to even consider it until price goes below 200e and it's moddable.

Seems that Italy (the third largest member of the coalition) is starting to show signs of pulling out: http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1605037,00.html Holy hell, when somebody bullheaded as Berlusconi starts distancing himself it makes you start to wonder what the hell Blair is doing.

Eizei whats 7 zip? A software? Also how do i check .cab files? And yes heatseeker most of the old stuff works fine , though i ofcourse havent tried each and everyone to check for anomalies. 7-zip is a free archiver. One can check the integrity of ANY file by comparing a known non-broken file's MD5 checksum with the file you have. But if you are having troubles getting them off CD.. well, seems that your operating system and/or hardware has been FUBAR'd.
-
I suppose I would try 7-zip and check the file checksums if I were you.

Wonder if the good ol' boys will do some push polling about adopted dark-skinned daughters in certain states again..

It has been fixed a lot in OFP:E already.

I really don't see anything revolutionary there.

With a 4-year development cycle it better.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki....s_table At best a 51% majority in sunni provinces. Al anbar (read: fallujah, sunni triange) had 96% no vote even, not exactly a surprise . If the veto had only required single majority the three needed provinces would have certainly been met. On the other hand shias and kurds seem overwhelmingly in favour of this, some provinces had more than 99% yes votes. I don't get it, what good will killing saddam's lawyers do? It only delays the inevitable and it's not like they are going to let him walk on some technicality.

Nope, usually the "coalition of the billing"-members send around 30-100 soldiers, just a drop in the bucket for them. Not to mention these usually are some specialists sent to some less dangerous areas in order to avoid forcing the sender to withdraw their forces in face of public opinion. Even the largest contributors after the UK have around 3000 personnel deployed which is by no means a large amount.

That's true, unfortunately. Even the Red Hammer campaign was totally ruined by switching sides. Though I think it was done mainly to appeal to all the western fanboys. I know I am going way off-topic but a soviet contigent led by a crazy rogue general abusing civilians is anything but unplausible.

not really a form of torture. More a form of metal preasure. And as EiZei I am afraid that things like these might get worse. But for now I absolutely see no systematic torture more something like orders that are misinterpreted and frustration which emerges in these cases (just like what happens with the UN peacekeepers, you see the connection now?) It's always the question how far you can go with interogations. Try sleeping less than couple of hours a day crammed up in some dirty closet for a week and then come tell me it's not torture. Torture is mental pressure. The difference between the UN and the US abuses is that the UN abuses clearly serve nothing else than the perpetrator's own sadistic desires while the US abuses seem to be less about personal enjoyment and information gathering with least visible methods. If some US soldiers would have raped some random civilian women I would not suspect the higher-ups for a second, but when the same school-of-the-americas/CIA-style torture that is designed to be effective and discrete rather than provide some kind of depraved satisfaction starts emerging at different places.. well..

Not to mention the tactics (exploiting the fear of dogs, hooding, threats, sleep deprivation, stress positions) have all been justified in certain memos released under FOIA. While the stuff that has happened usually exceeds the limits specified in those memoes I think there still is a disturbing pattern emerging out of all this.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq_orbat_coalition.htm Can't vouch for it's accuracy but I did'nt spot any obvious errors. If by GW2 you mean the 2003 thing one could say that it's still going on if casualty rates are any indication. However at least Spain and NZ along with several other nations have already withdrawn and Ukraine and Poland are about to do the same. There also has been strong speculation in the UK as well if I am not mistaken.

smells like BS. If they are a key ally in the WOT then they would be part of the Iraqi Coalition Besides, they're not part of the Iraqi Coalition. For them to discredit the Iraqi war puts yellow all over this aritcle. Why would they care, they're not loosing a thing on it. So what did war against terrorism have to do with this little crusade again? And it's "coalition of the willing" and not "iraqi coalition." http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped....raq.png EDIT: 125KB, oh joy Not being in the coalition is hardly anything unusual and considering most of the "members" are just giving lip service in order to keep their relation favourable with the US id say it's downright common. I really don't get this "you have to be in the coalition if you want to say anything negative"-thing.

If you release your Gaming OS under GPL, then M$ can't buy you off... Yes they can, they just buy all the devs and leave the code out to rot. It will cause some major delays at least and quite possibly kill the whole project. Or maybe they will just use their enormous patent portfolio. I still see no reason to go vista, it only means worse performance and more DRM for me. Not to mention that microsoft products are not excatly cheap.

Join? What join? The only way im not going is if they don't let me.

It is the finnish air force tradition to outperform (*cough* brewster *cough*) with underperfoming planes, not the other way around.

You know like the maganizes did with the OJ mugshot. Well, personally I think it's actually more fucked up this way. He is trying to look positive but comes off more like joker with his fake-y smile.

Or maybe they should just give insurance companies protection from lawsuits if/when they start charging fatties more for health insurance. I just wonder why does this need a separate law? Why are'nt these cases just thrown out? How can you teach them to cut eating too much fast food if there are junk food machines in the schools? Holy fuck, and the parents seem real pissy here for allowing even regular soda automats.
